I literally just finished it and think it might be better than S1. Maybe it's because my mom died recently and I've seen how my dad is coping with being a lonely old man with no purpose and because I just ended a 3 year relationship but it hit right in the feels. I don't expect many here to know what it's like to try to make a long term relationship work and companionship between old men but it's a lot more personal and relatable than to me now than "work, gym, home" vibes from S1

Seasons 1,2,3 are all decent. Season 1 if you like character development. They are the most fun detectives in the show. Season 2 has the best LA crime noir style case. And has the best ending. But some folk don't like the detectives because they are all depressed af(i am not one of those). Season 3 is a bit more like season 1(unlike many i like the ending). The case is solid, it's quite dark. And it's told in an interesting way. But i had a hard time rewatching season 3. I had no such problems with S 1/2. Season 4 you can just skip. It's not the same show. It's also not a good show.
First three seasons are good. Night Country is fricking atrocious.

Pure, unrefined, unadulterated Kino. Some people will say the scenes of Rust rambling on are boring and doomeresque. They are brainlets who forget Rust has seen and been a part of the absolute worst humanity has to offer. Of course he’s fricked up.

It’s a good but it is a completely different genre. Not detective or mystery kino at all. It is more like they made pulp fiction into a TV show. Ending leaves something to be desired because I honestly think the writers got carried away and forgot there was a “mystery” that needed to be concluded. So they wasted time with that instead of just committing to what the real story had become.

They really fricked this one up trying to top season 1’s parallel story line. Wayne and Roland are fantastic characters but every Amelia scene is a struggle to get through. Waynes son is also a homosexual. The season falls apart in the last two episodes because nothing is at stake and the writers obviously couldn’t figure out how to conclude the three story lines satisfyingly. Way too much filler scenes that are a snooze.

Season 2 is an 8/10 on first watch, becomes a 9/10 on rewatch when you fully understand the story
