He wanted to mostly retire from it. The important point is that Lucas was told he was getting the Pixar Deal, meaning the company culture would be preserved and that he would have say in the projects.
In the end Kiger and israeliteleen double crossed him and turned it into a deal where they just ruin the whole thing.
>remove the disney trilogy completely out of existence.
That's never going to happen, though. You could possibly tread over them, but Fisher is dead, Ford is not going to come back, and Hamill probably wouldn't either. VII, VIII, and IX are always going to be TFA, TLJ, and TROS.
The Sequel Trilogy getting erased is more likely to happen than Lucasfilm getting sold back to George
No one has a good excuse why it needs to be kept intact, it didn't even satisfy the fans of the Sequel Trilogy characters

There's no way Disney would ever "erase" the sequels. They will always try to make it work or ease into it and fans will always get mad and scare them back into doing more stuff set before them. That's Star Wars for the next decade at least. And now that Rey movie isn't going to be made.

Nobody genuinely cares enough about it to keep it intact. It doesn't make money for Disney in a significant way (compared to OT/PT, Mando, Clone Wars stuff). the fans of the old stuff don't like the ST, most of the ST fans who liked either episode 7 or 8 were left dissatisfied by 9

They could always do an animated sequel trilogy to wash over it
Based on Lucas’ original plans, he wasn’t going to use any of those characters anyway and his sequels would be set considerably in the future.

Anon he was the owner of Star Wars and was the one dictating the G canon, also he got the idea when he went to the studio that was developing the Darth Maul game and saw a statue of Darth Talon on the offices, then he asked who was her and he said that she must be Darth Maul's girlfriend since she looks like him.
Talon was set to appear in a Darth Maul–themed video game code-named Battle of the Sith Lords. Her involvement reportedly proposed by George Lucas himself who liked the idea of Maul and Talon being friends who play off of each other and likened her character to '40s actress Lauren Bacall. When the developers noted that the characters can't know each other because of the time divide, Lucas changed the main character's identity into Maul's descendant or clone.[42] In the game, Talon would have allied with Maul's descendant to face Darth Krayt's empire, but the project was canceled by LucasArts in 2011.[43] Game Informer magazine revealed several pieces of concept art for the game in 2014, including an ensemble shot of Maul, Talon, Savage Opress, and the Mandalorian Death Watch. Although Talon's character design was identical to her Legacy appearance, other concept art depicted a suggested redesign of Darth Krayt and an officer of the "New Empire."[44]

Assuming Yidney actually sells it, who besides Lucas would dare to buy?
Not only would any new material be compared to the fricking OG trilogy to some extent, it also has to undo all of the fricking damage Yidney did over time.
The only one with enough money and interest to buy it is Lucas, no other company would ever try their hand on this. Unless they bring him into the fold.
I can see Universal Studios buying it, making the sequels non canon, reestablish the EU and give back the comic license to dark horse just to spit on Disney, after all that's what they do in the animation field https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKZ0lqYt43k
It's possible. Disney has been having lots of problems coming from Lucasfilm and having problems of their own. Right now with investors pissed off and the need to deal with the payout to Comcast for Hulu imminent, along with the problems most of their films have been having since COVID, they may just give up on Lucasfilm to get quick cash. It's not a guarantee, but it's more likely than people think.
Inb4 dumb shills push their "Disney will never sell anything" claim
I would say it’s not out of the realms of possibility, but there are plenty of IPs they will ditch before they sell Lucasfilm or Marvel, so if it happens I doubt it’ll be any time soon. Best case scenario, the next couple of SW films bomb and they cut their losses
To some extent I agree, but at the same time it's not just that Lucasfilm/Star Wars is underperforming, it's also that Kennedy is giving them headaches like the Acolyte lawsuit or excessively increasing the budget on films (ie Solo, Indy 5) and they can't fire her without needing to pay her out. Selling Lucasfilm to someone else, could cause the terms of her contract to change
It seems like they’re underperforming across the board, but yeah you’ve more or less hit the mark, although paying out Kennedy to leave may be cheaper than selling an IP to fire her, as I would imagine that she would lawyer up immediately and try and get her payout through the court system. Ultimately we don’t know the terms of her contract so it’s just speculation, but it’ll be interesting to see exactly what disney sells or drastically changes in the next few years.

Doomwiener was only known for his Kathleen tirades; and people have mentioned she probably has dirt on everyone which is why she won’t ever be fired.
The financial issue with Disney has been documented well before doomwiener, since the fox purchase and the coof by ip, private equity and hedge fund gays. Everyone in the know knew this shit was coming and the situation got exacerbated by the impending Comcast conflict and the alleged FTX collusion rumor. There’s a real chance that Lucas will be sold with its properties but whether it’s George is unknown. Even then, that won’t be enough to pay Comcast and they’ll most likely pawn off their Paris and shanghai properties at a discount too. AND they still won’t be able to pay it off, and Iger might reluctantly let go of Marvel; but they’ll sell it for more than what they bought it for to make ends meet.
Is that serious the situation that not even selling Marvel would solve it? I mean they could pull off the same trick Marvel did during the 90s selling the characters individually instead of everything in a pack

The Sequel Trilogy films each made a billion but they underperformed from film to film and merchandise money declined drastically
Solo was an actual box office loss.
Since Episode 9, there has been no Star Wars film in theaters other than like the anniversary rerelease of old films
Then there's Galaxy's Edge having a very lower-than-expected opening (even if it gradually got better) and the closing of Galactic Starcruiser recently
There's also the numerous productions announced and never went anywhere that likely had to have some cost. Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron had a trailer but then they canceled it.
Then there's the Acolyte lawsuit which hasn't been resolved yet
Then there's Indy 5's problems
Anonymous
The movies cost money to make, they don't get all the profits from these, the merchandising is not selling, in fact they are killing the old characters that used to sell, and they wasted another 2 Billions on that now abandoned Galaxy cruiser and another 1B they used to reformed it before trashing it entirely
11 months ago

They fricking spent $3 billion on Galactic Starcruiser? What the frick were they thinking?
>Is that serious the situation that not even selling Marvel would solve it? I mean they could pull off the same trick Marvel did during the 90s selling the characters individually instead of everything in a pack
They have 200M liquid in cash in the bank
They owe 27 BILLION and the arbitration sided with Comcast that their share is not worth 9B.
SW could be sold for 2.5B, from the 4B they bought it for. The Paris and Shanghai parks can be sold for 3B each, 2.5B off their original price. That’s 8.5B against a 27B bill. If Marvel is sold, it’ll be twice for what they bought it for because Iger considers that their best ip above Mickey Mouse (lol). So it’ll most likely be sold for 8B, twice the original 4B purchase. Now you have 16.5B against a 27B bill, and you can opt for the rest the payment in loans at the current high interest.
Disney can’t afford giving Comcast stock since it’ll make them the majority shareholder and sink Disney since they’re a competitor. They also can’t get loans because at the current rate, it’ll be 1.5B in interest per year above the 27B they have to pay back to the banks.

They want to pay 9 Billion based on the initial valuations of their Hulu stocks way back when. A few years later it proved to be pretty important and those valuations got evaluated at much higher at 27B. Oh yeah I forgot about that one but it also cost a fortune to make
Iger went and bought Fox, with $71.3 Billion In Cash And Stock. It's said that the 71.3 billion is 50% stock and 50% cash, so he used around $35 billion in cash from Disney. In doing so he ended up with Fox's stake in Hulu, which made Disney own 60% of Hulu.
WB sold their stake in Hulu for $1.43 billion in 2019, and that stake was split between Disney and Comcast, at 67% and 33% respectively.
The agreement currently is that Hulu can't be valued below $27.5 billion.
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/16/comcast-will-likely-sell-hulu-stake-to-disney-in-early-2024.html
Comcast wants Disney to buy their stake by 2024.
33% or approx 1/3rd of $27.5 billion mean Disney is on the hook for at least $9 billion
>Is that serious the situation that not even selling Marvel would solve it? I mean they could pull off the same trick Marvel did during the 90s selling the characters individually instead of everything in a pack
Let’s be real anon, no one will ever want to buy individual pieces of characters. Slap alternate universe on it and call it a pudding.
Not like the marvel brand isn't convoluted already.
Spidey somehow managed.
They have plenty of individual Ip's but they don't just need a quick influx of a couple of million dollars. They need the big bucks and those fast. Keeping Lucasfilm only increases their losses with every month so might as well throw it out.

I suppose they might have the balls and bucks but do they have the creative freedom from israelites and the latent to make the films good? Otherwise they wouldn't even get the marketing for their first ever movie back, the brand is basically radioactive.
>they have the creative freedom from israelites and the latent to make the films good?
A lot of EU writers are still in active some ones are even publishing free their latest novel that got cancelled because Disney, you could pick almost any of these and make a good movie and I'm sure Lucas would happily enjoy being there helping with the ideas
That would indeed be the only viable path. Lucas just floating in the background instead of doing heavy lifting while actual fans and creators take their places could actually work.
>Assuming Yidney actually sells it, who besides Lucas would dare to buy?
Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Chinks, Goatfrickere

>And they all think they can undo the damage done by Yidney and make a profit out of the brand?

It’s disney. They’ve announced and quietly cancelled like 15 movies by now. Nothing’s being made until you can actually see the sets being physically constructed and CGI jeets hired
Lucasarts was already dead by the time Disney entered the picture, they had bled tons of talent in the five years since the disastrous Force Unleashed 2 was shipped
Disney doesn't have the money to invest in another one of Kathleen Kennedy's flops. The Acolyte is done filming and they might not even do post production on it. Willow was such a big flop that Disney pulled it from D+. Do you know how bad a show has to flop to get pulled off of a streaming service? It was literally doing damage to Disney and Lucasfilm by being there.
Kathleen Kennedy is done. It doesn't even matter if she gets fired or not, because Lucasfilm is not going to be allowed to make anything while she's still there. Disney can't fire her so they might end up just selling Lucasfilm to someone who will. You know who likes firing people and doesn't give a frick about feelings? David Zaslav. If he was able to buy Lucasfilm at a decent price he would not hesitate to fire everyone and reboot Star Wars.
>Kathleen Kennedy is done. It doesn't even matter if she gets fired or not, because Lucasfilm is not going to be allowed to make anything while she's still there.
There's also indications Iger wants to make it harder for her to stay on board >Recent article from Fortune outright asking if Kennedy needs to go >Shutting down Galactic Starcruiser and removing Willow from Disney+ while she was in Cannes, without telling her >Lifting the review embargo for Indy 5 a month early, letting people see it get 54% on the Rotten Tomatoes critic scale
>[Maureen] Ryan's mysterious source "Emma" recalls being told Lucasfilm didn't particularly care about going over-budget. Emma initially found that difficult to believe, "but I saw it up close - that it doesn't matter how many mistakes are made or how incompetent some people are. Our budget doubled, and I'm sure it went up after I left. I've never seen anything like it." Ryan is, again, careful to note this is just one person's opinion. Still, she points to Lucasfilm's confidence in Star Wars, and Emma herself notes the success of The Mandalorian reinforced an internal corporate belief the company can do no wrong. "Your overconfidence is your weakness," Luke Skywalker told the Emperor in Return of the Jedi, and that appears to be the case with Lucasfilm.
That moron literally criticize the lack of diversity lmao
"As of 2018, after more than four decades of the franchise's existence, the roster of writers and directors in the Star Wars live-action feature film realm was entirely white and more than 90 percent male. in 2020, Patty Jenkins was hired to direct a Star Wars film titled Rogue Squadron, but that project has been in development for a long time and, as of this writing, shows no sign of going into production. Taika Waititi is working on a Star Wars movie with Scottish writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, but fans might not see it until 2025 or beyond - if it gets made, that is. As far as I can determine, as of the middle of 2022, no woman of color has written, cowritten, or directed a live-action Star Wars feature film."

so much for the "female writers ruined star wars" meme
I believe this is just generally what Disney does, they haven't released a sub 100mil budget in years, I would imagine that their high from 2012 - 2020 made them complacent.
Disney is the only production company that finances everything with cash, so it makes sense that running over budget is barely an issue, its not like they have to go and beg the bank.
Obviously given that they've only released 1 profitable film this year so far with more flops on the way (elemental is fricked and Indiana jones has a Massive budget and looks to do middling numbers), I would imagine their approach is going to change.
This rumour is still total bullshit, and it makes me want to start a career in internet outrage, given this is basically next level trolling and getting paid for it.
Basically it looks like Iger is trying to make quitting look preferable to staying. Iger is just as much a part of the problem as Kennedy when you look at what's happened to the rest of Disney, but what we're looking at is basically a death by a thousand cuts, and Kathleen Kennedy's management of Lucasfilm is one of the most high profile failings of Disney right now. She can't do anything right and she has completely soured public opinion of every brand Lucasfilm owns.

It's his baby and legacy after all, and these are the "white slavers" that did him dirty. A billionaire can afford the staff and legal to not be bothered with much of it.

Who cares? The series is dead. Right now there's ~4 space operas I'm enjoying and one of them's somehow done out of a Texas basement with a full fricking cast and an orchestral sountrack.
Maybe but I don't see why would Lucas do it when he already sold it at first unless he really wanted to make the true sequels, also he would have to fire everyone involved in Lucasfilm and I can't see him doing that
There are two or even three impossible requirements.
1)Disney must be willing to sell
2)Lucas must be willing to purchase
3)DIsney must be willing to sell it to Lucas of all people
First of all Disney isn't going to get bankrupt and of all the things that they own why would they sell one that has the potential to be the most profitable of them all? And Lucas is almost 80 years old and is becoming more and more an obscure figure. He's not a one man movie studio why would he want to buy this? Just to sell it to someone else?
It's absolutely impossible in every conceivable way. Doomwiener is a fricking liar selling people bullshit because hopium sells. Not that Lucas would do any good for Star Wars but his idiot followes believe that he would.
Thing that blew my minds was that Disney bought Power Rangers from Saban for roughly the same amount as Star Wars adjusting for inflation. Then of course sold it back to him for less.
Supposedly the Rangers were part of a group of IPs and Yidney didn't even really realize they had them until later.
They fricked them up so hard Saban bought them to save the last sliver of good reputation.
Supposedly the Rangers were part of a group of IPs and Yidney didn't even really realize they had them until later.

Disney wanted the Fox Family channel so they could dump ABC failures onto it. Buying the channel required buying out Saban Entertainment in it's entirety, which obviously included PR. Disney had already planned to end Power Rangers with Wild Force until two random producers found a way to make the production much cheaper.
Disney really never cared about PR outside of clamping down on the budget which lead to some some very uneven seasons. Eventually they threw in the towel and cancelled it. I think it was the shitty edited MMPR that Disney put out that made Saban want to buy it back, and it was only 45 million at the time if I remember correctly.
Power Rangers got bought back for 60 million. If the Hulu payment is indeed looming while they only got 200 million in operating capital, something's got to give.
>As per Kamran Pasha's source, Disney's planning to sell Lucasfilm and their IPs to potential buyers: >Universal >Sony >Tencent >Lionsgate >Toho >Lucas Estate
Where does that information come from? Is it also from Doomwiener's video? He only focuses on Disney-Lucas-Kathleen Kennedy as always. Anywa even though it's completely fake and I'm indifferent towards the existence of Star Wars it's fun to speculate how each of that would look.
>Universal
Probably the least worst of the classic Hollywood studios today. They would probably be much less ambitious, there would be fewer shows so naturally their quality would've been greater. >Tencent
Just Tencent? They sold out their majority in Legendary some time ago so I don't think it means them too. I have little information on them. >Lionsgate
That's like poverty row by Hollywood standards but maybe the stunts would be better? >Toho
I know Toho is expanding internationally so even though they're already popular among certain fans normies may know who they are but in the future. Now I'm sure they have money they'd rather invest elsewhere but some dying American franchise. >Lucas estate
Might as well flush the rights to Star Wars down the toilet. The "estate" getting the rights always means that they will be sold to someone else. And it usually happens if the estate wins some kind of lawsuit. But willingly selling a franchise to a single man? No.
Oh right, they do anime now. In fact they're everywhere now. They expanded their US office I even saw they co-produced Detective Pikachu and I don't think they had any dealings with that brand before. I feel like they're trying to become as ubiquitous in internationally recognized popular culture as Nintendo.
>Kiger initially wants to keep out >troonyhomosexuals scream and sperg >Kiger cucks to the trannies and slaps DeSantis across the face >lose special rights to all the lands of their parks
Based trannies are really helping us bury Yidney.
The real reason it fricked them is because it perverted their profit incentives. Basically it goes >executives at companies traded on US exchanges have the legal obligation to maximize shareholder value (stock goes up) >in a normal world this means “do things that maximize profits” like make movies people want to watch or toys they want to buy >esg made them realize that they could instead say “frick that, Fink’s going to pump the stock if we shove Black personhomosexuals everywhere” so that’s exactly what they did >they forgot that profits still matter and someone buying stock doesn’t mean shit unless you’re the one selling it (and they aren’t) and oops the company might actually run out of money if they don’t course correct soon >they can’t course correct because they stuffed their upper ranks with wine aunts and troons
No, he's just a waifu shitter hack, reviving Ashoka after she died in Rebels was atrocious, he literally bullshited time travel in Star Wars when it was one of the few settings without it since it always frick the story
>Disney cares about the sanctity of star wars so much that they will sell their most valuable IP to someone else who will go on to profit without them and also compete with their other failing IP >George wants to save his brainchild so badly that he is willing to come out of retirement and spend at least a billion to buy it back so he can recreate the sequels we heckin deserved
This is chud cope of the highest order
He wouldn't need to direct anything, there will be others, especially if he scales them down.
He literally described it as selling his kids to huwyte slavers, he obviously cares it at least stops burning.
>mfw that ahsoka trailer
i want to travel back in time, find my 2011 self, and cave his skull in with a brick for even thinking "i hope star wars comes back one day and gets a lot of shows and stuff"
what was i thinking
Having shows its not the problem, the problem are the woke untalented writers and Filoni being a fricking waifugay that have to make Ashoka the center of the universe, a Shadows of the Empire show would be great, a Kotor show would be great, a New Jedi Academy show would be great, hell even the Empire at War show would be great instead we ended with a Obi wan show that somehow doesn't even focus on fricking Obi Wan and a show about Boba fat doing absolutely nothing.
Hell the most popular show is the one that took most thing from the EU the Mandalorian and everyone was clapping until they started to add more Nu Wars into it
Even if he just sits on it until he dies and the only thing he does is decanonize the Disney sequels and most other Disney projects, that'd be enough. Or let it go public domain as soon as he dies.
If you want Star Wars to be good again, you have to let it die or fade. Trying to force it to limp is like putting lipstick on a pig, you're just not going to get what you want. Star Wars needs to do what Doctor Who did in the 90s when it was getting fricked by moronic executives and lost its mojo - go on total hiatus, no movies, no shows. Yes Doctor Who is crap, but the concept of going on hiatus to revitalize is what matters here.
Let Star Wars fade out of the mainstream. Just niche extended media like novels or audiobooks, maybe comics and games. Then Star Wars will no longer be under the influence of the Kathleen Kennedies of the world, it will be in the hands of the idea guys who just want to write some weird shit for their niche hobby. When Doctor Who did this, it resulted in undeniably the most creative period for the IP.
Try bringing it back on the big screen after 15 years of that kind of Star Wars. Use the ideas gathered over this niche period to fuel new movie ideas and show ideas, you can at least get some good stuff out of that. Star Wars can be reborn. But to be reborn, you have to die first.
Not really. They are a designer bramd so their stuff is all just pricey. Most of the cost of the nib is that its hand ground in germany and nibmiestery is a dying art.
Japanese nibs like some of the $300-600 pilot and sailor pens can be higher quality, but you dont get the lil montblanc star that is recognizable in a board meeting.
it's bullshit, George will die without having Star Wars again
kinda sad, why did he sell anyway? it's not like he needed the money or anything. it's his fricking life's work for christ's sake. that and THX 138
He wanted to mostly retire from it. The important point is that Lucas was told he was getting the Pixar Deal, meaning the company culture would be preserved and that he would have say in the projects.
In the end Kiger and israeliteleen double crossed him and turned it into a deal where they just ruin the whole thing.
yeah disney certainly turned it into shit that's for sure
that explanation makes more sense though
Why would he want to?
To buy it back and renounce the disney trilogy and really piss off the nufans
>and renounce the disney trilogy and really piss off the nufans
he already denounced it, look up his interviews
he's laughing off into the sunset because he doesn't care anymore.
Its 1 thing to denounce the IP, it's another thing to buy it back for pennies and remove the disney trilogy completely out of existence.
>remove the disney trilogy completely out of existence.
It doesn't make money for Disney in a significant way (compared to OT/PT, Mando, Clone Wars stuff). the fans of the old stuff don't like the ST, most of the ST fans who liked either episode 7 or 8 were left dissatisfied by 9
>There's no way Disney would ever "erase" the sequels
They could always do an animated sequel trilogy to wash over it
Lucas always said he didn't want to do retro films, very good odds he wasn't going to use any of those characters anyways.
Based on Lucas’ original plans, he wasn’t going to use any of those characters anyway and his sequels would be set considerably in the future.
>Based on Lucas’ original plans, he wasn’t going to use any of those characters anyway
Lucas is the one that originally approached them about sequels.
>We got robbed of fricking Darth Talon on the big screen
>Darth Talon figures alone could have easily outself every merchandising they made for the sequels
Also that game with Maul and Talon still haunts me
>have hot mostly naked twi'lek apprentice
>Kenobi chopped off everything below the waist so you can't frick her even if you want to
KENOOOOBBIIIIIIIIIIIII
>lucas just straight up steals a character from the eu that he thought looked cool and rewrote her entire character and backstory so he could shove her into his sequel trilogy
This is fanfiction-tier nonsense, I doubt even Lucas, despite being a massively autistic moron, would do something this stupid.
>steal
Although Talon's character design was identical to her Legacy appearance, other concept art depicted a suggested redesign of Darth Krayt and an officer of the "New Empire."[44]
>then he asked who was her and he said that she must be Darth Maul's girlfriend since she looks like him.
fricking based
>and likened her character to '40s actress Lauren Bacall
Lucas is a true connoisseur of cinema.
>Maul's descendant or clone
They should've done this in TCW instead of resurrecting a guy that got cut in half. Damn Filoni.
Anon, they look the same. Turning Talon into Maul's own apprentice makes perfect sense.
>This is fanfiction-tier nonsense
So were the prequels.
Prequel zoomers think that he will buy back the franchise and remake the sequels even though he is reaching his 80s and is pretty much retired.
>sell star wars for 4 billions
>buy it back for a fraction of that
based
He has $5 billies and could easily buy it back, but it's not for sale. Don't know why though. His wife and her friends also bought a failing NFL team last year and it all just seems like a lot. He turns 80 next year.
The rams of angels?
His wife and Condoleezza Rice are part of the Walmart purchasing group that bought the Broncos.
>He has $5 billies
10 billies because he was paid partly in stock, someone did the numbers lol
>bought a failing NFL team last year
NFL franchises never lose value.
any money he received he lost up a lot to taxes. So he has less now to repurchase than he originally did.
If he teams up with Universal they can do it.
>So is it possible for George Lucas to repurchase Disney's Star Wars or is he just a jerk off made by Gen X?
Yes, it's totally possible. After all if Doomwiener and Nerdrotic say so, it MUST BE TRUE.
How do I make a career telling "dude trust me bro" lies at a camera like that?
It seems like the easiest job ever, I mean Mike Zeroh somehow has a career.
Literally just make shit up to rile people up, this thread has 150+ replies, see how easy it is.
George Lucas doesn't want star wars.
Imagine spending 16 hours a day coming up with new ways to say
>Kathleen is fired
>Jon is now head of Lucasfilm
>Dave is now supreme leader of Lucasfilm
>George Lucas returns to Lucasfilm
Got tiring years ago, they are pure weaponised autism
Are there any other franchises this could work on, the star wars space seems a bit saturated? Might try and get into it, seems like free money.
Lord of the rings is pretty hot after the bonfire that was rings of power, Token fans are pretty rabid
Good idea, I could probably throw in a few marvel studios videos as well, based on the way that's going.
From what I can tell, your record of being right or wrong doesn't matter because people are usually getting these types of videos in the recommended, so it doesn't even seem like I'll have to address being wrong, ever.
I'll maybe make a post in a few months time if I can get some decent money from this.
2 more weeks brother 2 more weeks
Yeah, just like Kennedy is totally getting fired, any time now, you just watch people!
>Assuming Yidney actually sells it, who besides Lucas would dare to buy?
Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Chinks, Goatfrickere
i still have no idea who Doomwiener is
It's possible.
Ultimately we don’t know the terms of her contract so it’s just speculation, but it’ll be interesting to see exactly what disney sells or drastically changes in the next few years.
>the Acolyte lawsuit
That director is a personal friend of Eiger, no less, and not any small time one at that.
>like the Acolyte lawsuit
Wait what? the last time I heard something about Acolyte was that the actor from Rome died, what the frick did KK this time?
The actor from Rome was in Ahsoka
Acolyte is a completely different project with Leslye Headland, Harvey Weinstein's former personal assisstant, in charge
A producer is suing the Acolyte production because she felt she was not compensated fairly for the sudden termination
https://deadline.com/2023/03/star-wars-series-the-acolyte-lawsuit-lucasfilm-karyn-mccarthy-1235282595/
At this point KK cost Disney more money and problems than buying Lucasfilm, seems like a miracle that they she's still alive instead of suicided by a gun from the back
Guess the b***h does know how to make a good dead-man's switch.
>with Leslye Headland, Harvey Weinstein's former personal assisstant, in charge
And now she's out there saying George Lucas isn't the key to Star Wars and whining about "mug soggy knees" because people were excited to see him on set and not paying attention to the women working
Probably shouldn't have done that since people are starting to wonder if there's something shady about the way The Acolyte has been mismanged
>what the frick did KK this time
Hired Karyn McCarthy (a person friend of Eiger btw) to executive producer. Then paid her like 5K to frick off. Pretty sure someone like McCarthy wipes her ass with more than 5K.
>but there are plenty of IPs they will ditch before they sell Lucasfilm or Marvel,
Would love if Marvel finally became free from Disney
They will NEVER sell Marvel, even if the MCU dies tomorrow they can revive it or start again in 50 years, meanwhile Star Wars its a dead brand that they killed themselves making it a propaganda machine of globohomosexual instead of interesting space opera
>They will NEVER sell Marvel
See
Is that serious the situation that not even selling Marvel would solve it? I mean they could pull off the same trick Marvel did during the 90s selling the characters individually instead of everything in a pack
It really is that serious, Yidney is in a perfect shitstorm right now, essentially every aspect of their brand has problems, multiple lawsuits, fricking with Florida, parks becoming emptier while Universal doesn't know what to do with all their visitors.
A israelitetuber called Legal Mindset explains it all in detail
Gotta check it up, I love to see these trainwrecks
Dude is smart and knows how to make the occasional joke, literally far better entertainment than Yidney could ever provide.
I know ME talks about it in almost every stream but I still don't know how could it be tha Disney might be losing money on Star Wars. Or that they haven't made their money back. 4 billion. Ok I know there are some operational costs, expenses, fees etc. but not making even 4 billion dollars in profit?
>but I still don't know how could it be tha Disney might be losing money on Star Wars
Unironically, how much do you know about israelites, anon?
The movies cost money to make, they don't get all the profits from these, the merchandising is not selling, in fact they are killing the old characters that used to sell, and they wasted another 2 Billions on that now abandoned Galaxy cruiser and another 1B they used to reformed it before trashing it entirely
They fricking spent $3 billion on Galactic Starcruiser? What the frick were they thinking?
Don't forget Reedy Creek and all their legal bullshittery against DeSantis in the name of troonyhomosexuals.
The parks are their main source of revenue and they too are falling to shit.
They are literally unsalvageable, unless BlackRock jizzes cash into Yidney's ass. Dunno how likely that is.
>The parks are their main source of revenue and they too are falling to shit.
This was Chapek's MO as well. Every possible angle for them to shoot themselves in the foot and cut their own dicks off, they've done. Eiger has stated he wants to run for president -- the Reedy Creek bullshit was an insurgency led from his office which he never vacated despite stepping down as CEO.
>the Reedy Creek bullshit was an insurgency led from his office which he never vacated despite stepping down as CEO.
I thought it was a loss from his battle against DeSantis for challenging "dont say gay" bill.
Also tl;dr for Chapek fricking the parks, please?
Chapek cut costs on the parks while he was in charge of the parks division.
So when now, for the first time in decades, state inspectors visit the parks, what will they find, I wonder?
Fricking hell, I knew they were on the hook for $9 billion but it was $27 billion? Iger buying Fox was a major blunder
9 is or was the theoretical minimum. According to some of my israelitetuber apparently there is evidence Kiger has been trying to devalue Hulu in order to keep it at that minimum.
>Fricking hell, I knew they were on the hook for $9 billion but it was $27 billion? Iger buying Fox was a major blunder
They want to pay 9 Billion based on the initial valuations of their Hulu stocks way back when. A few years later it proved to be pretty important and those valuations got evaluated at much higher at 27B. They’re trying to weasel their way out by saying Hulu isn’t important after years of saying it was (and it is). Comcast is completely going to frick them dry and Iger is to blame.
>Buy Fox
>Don't use the brands you bought
>Not even the Xmen are in the MCU because some legal contract with the Days of the Future cast
Lmao hahahahhaha what they got from that deal? American Dad, Family Guy and the Simpsons being available on D+?
They got James Cameron's Avatar
Oh yeah I forgot about that one but it also cost a fortune to make
and is consuming more fortunes as we speak
>They owe 27 BILLION
HOLY FRICK
Everyone will claw at Spider-Man and all the other characters would rank in value; plus you’d ruin all their existing last comic canons that depend on one another. Rumors of Zaslav wanting to do that to DC until it fizzled out, presumably because he realized that’s a dumb idea
I am sure there are companies that could make a profit with Ironman or Thor or even Hulk.
>I am sure there are companies that could make a profit with Ironman or Thor or even Hulk.
That would mean Ironman and Thor aren’t related to each other or spiderman’s Universe or other characters in the brand. Do you know how much of a clusterfrick that would be? Movie rights being sold off is an issue in itself and no one wants to buy rights for a character or a character’s run when they can buy the whole pie.
And they all think they can undo the damage done by Yidney and make a profit out of the brand?
>And they all think they can undo the damage done by Yidney and make a profit out of the brand?
Who said anything about undoing? Those companies would continue SW’s bastardization. You asked who else can afford it, and those are the other likely suspects. Iger can just say frick it and sell Disney to Apple while getting a golden parachute worth hundreds of millions.
So you assume Apple and co are just as suicidal in inclination concerning their profits?
I suppose they might be, in that case you are completely correct, anon.
>they may just give up on Lucasfilm to get quick cash. It's not a guarantee, but it's more likely than people think.
More likely Pixar gets shut down then them selling off Lucasfilm even though the brand is devalued
>Would love if Marvel finally became free from Disney
See
I think George is a boomer not Gen x
Based George finna buy back the franchise and remake the prequels with an all-black cast.
>muh lore
Star Wars fans completely miss the appeal of Star Wars lol
>popular kids
>posts a fat black woman who plays the flute and jack back
Disney fans don't know what they want.
He purchases it back and then immediately sells it to some Chink.
Does he have the dough, though?
I mean, allegedly the cash part of the sell went to charity, and the stocks are, well, Disney stocks? I mean, it would be hilarious if he just gives them their stocks back for his stuff.
But, he's 79, probably just wants to enjoy his retirement and raise his kid, not run a company and or direct. He hated that shit when he was 25.
He's like 80 years old. I doubt he's capable of managing the franchise and there is no decent heir in sight.
Maybe Disney has a special deal in mind where he regains "full" control over Star Wars just to win back the fans.
Just realized Lucas is like Logan Roy and Kennedy is one of his useless kids. Life>art>life.
The star wars prequels sucked dick.
Cope
>TPM 3D
What a pathetic failure that was.
Simon Pegg is the most pathetic actor there is.
To people who listen to Doomwiener and Nerdrotic, how does it feel to know that they lie to you (because none of the things they say will happen, ever happen), and yet still clicking on their videos? Is the lie you live really so pretty?
Considering the people upset at Nerdrotic and Doomwiener lie as much as they do, it's no wonder Doomwiener and Nerdrotic have fanbases
>people upset at Nerdrotic and Doomwiener lie as much as they do
oh? like?
Anyone insisting that the Rey movie is totally happening or that Rian Johnson still has a trilogy or whatever is as much a truther as they are
>Anyone insisting that the Rey movie is totally happening
...they literally announced Rey movie like few weeks ago.
Do you really believe it'll get made? Fricking really? If you say yes, you're as much gullible as Doomwiener's followers.
Maybe not in the end, but it's at least an official source, unlike Doomwieners "trust me bro, I have a secret source at Disney who tells me stuff!"
>but it's at least an official source,
If an "official" source totally claimed Rian Johnson's trilogy was happening and then is claiming that Rey movie is totally happening then it's officially Doomwiener-tier
>and then is claiming that Rey movie is totally happening then it's officially Doomwiener-tier
The official source is Disney themselves you moron, not just some news outlet. Jesus Christ.
>The official source is Disney themselves you moron,
Lol at someone actually being this gullible
You're like one step away from being a Doomwienerer
>disney saying it themselves = doomwiener saying random shit
You projecting Doomwienerers really are insanely fricking stupid. Could Disney cancel it? Sure. But they announced it, it is in their current plans. Absolutely nobody has said Disney plans to sell SW except for that moron Doomwiener citing “my uncle works at Nintendo” tier sources.
>DUDE DISNEY SAID IT WILL RELEASE THE ROGUE SQUADRON MOVIE ANY DAY NOW
>I CAN’T READ: the post
Again, you are a moron.
>DUDE TRUST ME BRO
It’s disney. They’ve announced and quietly cancelled like 15 movies by now. Nothing’s being made until you can actually see the sets being physically constructed and CGI jeets hired
They announced it before a script was even ready, and then a writers strike happened weeks later. Movie is never going to happen.
Frick Disney for killing Lucasarts. It's their biggest crime and did exactly what George was trying to prevent happening, his staff losing their jobs.
this and dark forces 2 still my favorite star wars games
Lucasarts was already dead by the time Disney entered the picture, they had bled tons of talent in the five years since the disastrous Force Unleashed 2 was shipped
>Rey movie is totally getting made guys
Rogue Squadron won't be made because WW84 flopped. Rey movie is guaranted because the director never fricked things up
Disney doesn't have the money to invest in another one of Kathleen Kennedy's flops.
There's also indications Iger wants to make it harder for her to stay on board
>Recent article from Fortune outright asking if Kennedy needs to go
>Shutting down Galactic Starcruiser and removing Willow from Disney+ while she was in Cannes, without telling her
>Lifting the review embargo for Indy 5 a month early, letting people see it get 54% on the Rotten Tomatoes critic scale
Oh and this revelation from Maureen Ryan's book Burn it Down:
https://screenrant.com/star-wars-lucasfilm-problems-burn-it-down/
>[Maureen] Ryan's mysterious source "Emma" recalls being told Lucasfilm didn't particularly care about going over-budget.
That's why it's hilarious
The author of that book is exactly who Kennedy wants to win favor of
But she's rejecting Kennedy's Lucasfilm
>As of 2018, after more than four decades of the franchise's existence, the roster of writers and directors in the Star Wars live-action feature film realm was entirely white and more than 90 percent male
so much for the "female writers ruined star wars" meme
Yeah he fricked Lucas with the help of KK and bought Fox only because he wanted to be the Disney CEO that got Marvel, Star Wars and Fox during his time
Congratu-fricking-lations then, Iger.
Ya' really pulled it off.
>Iger is just as much a part of the problem as Kennedy when you look at what's happened to the rest of Disney,
That's true, but I also think he may end up in a similar situation because of all the escalating issues
After all he is the one who decided to buy Fox
Iger, just like Eisner before him, stayed at Disney too long and now what started as a golden era has ended in a dark age.
he did the right thing by selling it and the people who shat on him now have to live with disney wars.its like anyone forces you to consume disneys stuff either.
Even if he wanted it back, he'll be outbid by Apple or Amazon
>Even if he wanted it back, he'll be outbid by Apple or Amazon
Private sale =/= Auction
Why would Disney sell? They have already made a profit off it.
I see you're one of those shills who thinks Disney gets 100% of the worldwide box office
>They have already made a profit off it.
>Why would Disney sell? They have already made a profit off it.
>profit
>he doesn’t know
SW is doing so badly that hasbro fricked off from licensing SW to make more toys
Dude if you were 80 and you had $5 billion would you want to go make a fricking movie or would you just chill on an island fricking hot thai ladyboys all day long?
George just pulled a 9/11-tier heist, he's not gonna take his grumpy old ass out of retirement just to give some homosexual manchild another chance to shit on him
yeah, the same people who shat on him now have to endure disney wars and those who outed themselves for liking that shit will never be taken serious again.I think he is above petty revenge but he still made his haters look like fools.
>I think he is above petty revenge
Is there any better revenge than becoming a multibillionaire and watching your enemies fail without you even having to do anything?
no,it cannot get any better.
Yeah he won big time that's why he's not coming back after all he already proved his point
He was fricked around in contract negotiations out of verbal agreements for creative input and development of his film treatments for the final trilogy for his story. Eiger & Kennedy groveling on their knees to buy it back a a fraction of the original 4 billion would be great justice and a temptation. It's his baby and legacy after all, and these are the "white slavers" that did him dirty. A billionaire can afford the staff and legal to not be bothered with much of it.
>Dude if you were 80 and you had $5 billion would you want to go make a fricking movie or would you just chill on an island fricking hot thai ladyboys all day long?
he has a black businesswoman queen wife and a kid. and didn't he give his money away to charity?
Who cares? The series is dead. Right now there's ~4 space operas I'm enjoying and one of them's somehow done out of a Texas basement with a full fricking cast and an orchestral sountrack.
Star wars is holding you back. Detach.
>Right now there's ~4 space operas I'm enjoying and
Name them.
Maybe but I don't see why would Lucas do it when he already sold it at first unless he really wanted to make the true sequels, also he would have to fire everyone involved in Lucasfilm and I can't see him doing that
At this point they should just give it away. George aint buying it back. He's too busy being old and making personal films.
>Personal films
I want to see every single one.
>First of all Disney isn't going to get bankrupt
Thing that blew my minds was that Disney bought Power Rangers from Saban for roughly the same amount as Star Wars adjusting for inflation. Then of course sold it back to him for less.
Supposedly the Rangers were part of a group of IPs and Yidney didn't even really realize they had them until later.
They fricked them up so hard Saban bought them to save the last sliver of good reputation.
Lucasfilm wasn't doing well when he sold it either, he got a great deal
Just because you have fond memories of a shitty 3d cartoon and star wars kinect doesn't mean he was handling things well either
The difference between
>not well
and whatever the flying frick Yidney was doing is fricking gigantic, moron.
Star Wars wasn't a dead brand like now
Star Wars isn't dead. There are multiple tv shows, movies and games in development, with millions of people watching/buying them.
ok, it is Undead then.
big difference
No, it's alive and doing well.
https://www.pcgamesn.com/lego-star-wars-the-skywalker-saga/sales
>LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga sales soar past 5 million
cute but a drop in the bucket
also literally one of like 6 sw vidya in a decade lmao
Its dead and you know why? because kids don't like it, they see it as lame gay franchise thanks to Disney
>kids don't like it
See:
Kids don't play Lego games, they play Roblox, Fornite, Minecraft and call of duty, only Basedboys play Lego games because they grew playing them
It is possible he will repurchase it but there's no way he'll make a SW movie ever again.
He doesn't need to make it himself but he can still entrust it to others.
>others
Like who? That's the real problem. There's nobody I know of that would make a good Star Wars director while also wanting to do Star Wars.
A good point, he might just allow for smaller indie-tier stuff to be made and use those to find somebody suitable.
Power Rangers got bought back for 60 million. If the Hulu payment is indeed looming while they only got 200 million in operating capital, something's got to give.
>As per Kamran Pasha's source, Disney's planning to sell Lucasfilm and their IPs to potential buyers:
>Universal
>Sony
>Tencent
>Lionsgate
>Toho
>Lucas Estate
No.
Oh and also Sony. I consider Sony in between Universal and Disney on a scale of competency.
>Toho
At least we might get a proper Star Wars animu
Oh right, they do anime now. In fact they're everywhere now. They expanded their US office I even saw they co-produced Detective Pikachu and I don't think they had any dealings with that brand before. I feel like they're trying to become as ubiquitous in internationally recognized popular culture as Nintendo.
>tfw there's a tiny possibility that Star Wars could be back
I love this crazy old bat
So does she
https://quillette.com/2022/03/29/disneys-institutional-capture/
This is a really nice read to anyone interested on what's happening inside the mouse
>Kiger initially wants to keep out
>troonyhomosexuals scream and sperg
>Kiger cucks to the trannies and slaps DeSantis across the face
>lose special rights to all the lands of their parks
Based trannies are really helping us bury Yidney.
Yeah hiring cheap trannies to get ESG scores ended fricking them in the end, the same happens with women in a lesser scale
Makes me wonder if blackrock will throw them a life ring.
The real reason it fricked them is because it perverted their profit incentives. Basically it goes
>executives at companies traded on US exchanges have the legal obligation to maximize shareholder value (stock goes up)
>in a normal world this means “do things that maximize profits” like make movies people want to watch or toys they want to buy
>esg made them realize that they could instead say “frick that, Fink’s going to pump the stock if we shove Black personhomosexuals everywhere” so that’s exactly what they did
>they forgot that profits still matter and someone buying stock doesn’t mean shit unless you’re the one selling it (and they aren’t) and oops the company might actually run out of money if they don’t course correct soon
>they can’t course correct because they stuffed their upper ranks with wine aunts and troons
>disney blackrock esg wokeness
shut up
dave filoni has nothing to do with any of these things and his shows are crap
No, he's just a waifu shitter hack, reviving Ashoka after she died in Rebels was atrocious, he literally bullshited time travel in Star Wars when it was one of the few settings without it since it always frick the story
>Disney cares about the sanctity of star wars so much that they will sell their most valuable IP to someone else who will go on to profit without them and also compete with their other failing IP
>George wants to save his brainchild so badly that he is willing to come out of retirement and spend at least a billion to buy it back so he can recreate the sequels we heckin deserved
This is chud cope of the highest order
Lucas don't want it back, he wouldn't even be able to direct movies since he's 80 years old
He wouldn't need to direct anything, there will be others, especially if he scales them down.
He literally described it as selling his kids to huwyte slavers, he obviously cares it at least stops burning.
Yeah, causing having SW under them has just been one box office record after the other, right?
>mfw that ahsoka trailer
i want to travel back in time, find my 2011 self, and cave his skull in with a brick for even thinking "i hope star wars comes back one day and gets a lot of shows and stuff"
what was i thinking
Having shows its not the problem, the problem are the woke untalented writers and Filoni being a fricking waifugay that have to make Ashoka the center of the universe, a Shadows of the Empire show would be great, a Kotor show would be great, a New Jedi Academy show would be great, hell even the Empire at War show would be great instead we ended with a Obi wan show that somehow doesn't even focus on fricking Obi Wan and a show about Boba fat doing absolutely nothing.
Hell the most popular show is the one that took most thing from the EU the Mandalorian and everyone was clapping until they started to add more Nu Wars into it
>the ruination of Star Wars is part of the price to set Yidney ablaze
That’s like one of those button memes
>you can kill Disney
>but Star Wars is the wreckage brother
>the fire rises
just make Halo: Reach except with a team of greenhorn jedi knights
Why would he want to? You probably spend more time thinking about Star Wars than he has in decades. That's why he sold it.
He called them white slavers he sold his children to after the israelites dropped the mask.
Could someone explain to me what the demand for acolyte consists of
Why didn't one of the rebels just put their ship into hyperspace and ram it into the death star?
Reminder that George:
>Darth Insanius
>_________Darth Icky
Wow, true kino, George Lucas has never had a bad idea, truly a visionary now, back to listening to Jedi Rocks.
If anyone is moronic enough to think this is real, put your money where your mouth is and short disney stock.
Thats a nice pen. I have 3 montblancs and i cannot recommend them enough.
Is it truly mightier than the sword?
Ive used my pen more, but probabally not in a fight. For that i prefer my custom montblanc gun.
Pure barbarism
Is most of the cost from the fact that it's got gold on it?
A New Cope
The Fempire strikes back
Return of the George
George Lucas will own Star Wars, murder Mike Stoklasa and then destroy RLM.
Screencap this.
He'll also record himself getting his dick sucked by Rick Worley.
He should re-buy it while he still can, before Disney destroys it altogether!
Haven't read the thread but I don't think he has a billion in the bank he donated
