I think long term they’re building a crew of marines for the story going forward. Making Coby a secondary protagonist is honestly a decent move. Could see Smoker and Tashigi joining up.

The shots during some of the most iconic scenes are pretty good.
Some locations in an eventual second season will need a much bigger budget.
It was unironically good/watchable. S2 is more than certain given the reception so far and given they have all the assets made. S3 likely as well. So we are going to see arabasta, ace, smoker, dragon and skypiea.
Skypeia feels like it can be done in a film and after that is zombie/w7/enies which is followed by the war and timeskip.
I think they would have long cancelled it by then, Nami actress will hit the wall and they are all generally getting older. Shit like marineford is impossible to adapt.

I don’t like how every scene is either darker than it should be or has the Mexican piss filter on it. And almost every costume and prop looks like shit, I can only imagine how terrible Chopper is going to look at this rate.
My only complaint so far is that it was really jarring watching One Piece and see someone be killed by being sliced in half in a completely serious and bloody way. Like I get Zoro canonically killed that dude but it was still weird to see given the tone of the series

The Roger execution scene is unforgivably terrible and they should all be fired and never work again for that alone. A joke of a scene with zero gravity or sense of greatness taking place, they miserably fail in transposing the sense of epicness and solemnity of big events and characters which is one of the few undeniable all time great strengths of One Piece.
