So they're definitely bringing this back right?
No way they place so much emphasis on it in the movie to do nothing with it.

they have zero intention of bringing it back. it's in the movie to jerk people's nostalgiaboners because that's the only thing multiverse shit is good for.

Yeah, you don't want this show to come back. It'll be 1/8th the original budget, and when you let that hack Weisman write without a filter you get nothing good.
Besides it's virtually impossible. Sony cannot make new episodes because only Disney is allowed to make new Spider-Man cartoons, and Disney cannot make a new season because only Sony can authorize a new season.

Sony can still make shows if the episodes are longer than 40 minutes. Anything shorter can only be done by the mouse.

Interesting.. I remember early on in the show's run they had DVDs which edited episodes into mini-movies. It didn't play well so they took it off shelves, but there were some unique scenes in the movie versions.

Marvel and Disney tried to sue when Sony was releasing

. It's why the following ones had to be small three-four episode releases after Attack of the Lizard. No way they won't threaten legal action again if Sony tried to do that.

I don't want it back. They will absolutely frick it up, shoehorn in Miles/Spider-Gwen. Or make it into shared universe cancer. Weisman is such an annoying prick on Twitter. I can just see him ruining it to piss off the "right" people.

Weisman has been stubborn about SSM being about The Education of Peter Parker. They won't add all that shit unless he was forced to, and then he'd probably just not do it at all.

    1. There's probably some legal bullshit in the way
    2. Revivals like that happen but they're rare, shows are disposable, it's better to just create a new one
    3. Nowadays Spider-Man can't be just Spider-Man. He needs an army of other Spider-Men following him around and maybe there's a single villain in there somewhere.

Sony sold the tv rights back a long time ago, and Disney already announced what Spider-Man show they're working on right now. Unless Sony is going to put out a Spectacular movie (they won't), it means nothing besides member berries.

THIS is my biggest fear if they brought Spectacular Spider-Man back. It wouldn't pick up from where it left off; it'd be like bad fanfiction with forced inclusions of Spidey's editorial nightmare for the last decade and more.

at what point does he show up in the movie?

It's not a big role, they focus on him when the Spider-Men are telling Miles about the multiverse and the implications of canon events/absolute points.
It does feel weird for him to get such a big focal shot though, coupled with bringing back the voice actor.
For comparison Unlimited only ever shows up in the background.

I think Spectacular is a favorite among writers. They stole Electro's origin story for ASM2 from this show.

Much as it is interesting to point out that he's more than just another Spidey in the background and gets to at least say something, it's more than likely just because Spectacular is widely revered among Spider-Man fans and there are still no plans to bring it back. Then again, who knows? X-Men is coming back, there may still be hope. As for whether a possible revival would even be good enough or not is another thing entirely though.

Anon this is a 3D movie and those are 3D models, the only way you can perceive 3D models is through engine lighting as opposed to drawing direct colors like in traditional animation

Insecurity, mostly. It might be the best written Spider-Man show, but TAS will always be the most famous and most popular one, especially with the normies.

TAS is terrible. No one likes TAS. Absolutely no one. Shoo-shoo, go away Disney exec. No one needs your lame revivals. You already have X-Men TAS to ruin, frick off.

    >So they're definitely bringing this back right?

Honestly, bringing anything back after 5 - 10 years is a bad Idea
The Writers political views have changed as well as the world
They'll likely try to push something that "they swear was always the plan" but clearly doesn't fit piece of it earlier.

We get "representation" for people who don't even care about the show just want something to point at and say "look what we go!" or whatever the frick Halo was.
Who seems like they had a whole, I'm straight, no I'm gay, actually I'm bi, then what felt like some trans allegory, I'm not the Motherbox or Gabrielle, I'm now Violet. I don't know It's been a while since I care about Season 3 since it's release.

Honestly If a series creator doesn't finish their story during the initial run. Them just putting the rest of the series outline on some twitter/blog post would be a better Idea.

Well I don't know about all that, the only thing Spectacular was pushing was the lie that MJ and Peter weren't into each other.

Peter and MJ were clearly the slow-burn of the series. They even kind of hint that MJ already knows he's Spider-Man. She's just not dating him because she doesn't want to get attached to people yet.

Not really. Bare ideas without any context or execution is just going to lead to further backlash.

I'm fine with it dead. Just like how I'm fine Gargoyles definitely ending at Season 2.

The comic continuation this year has been pretty good, especially the past couple of issues.

Anon all the writes that made it special would be replaced
even if they brought it back it wouldnt be the same, they would change the animation, change plotlines, and the writing would be off
its over, and IF they bring it back you will wish it stayed that way
