She was never a real jerk. She was trying to look like one.
Yep,she is pretty much a satellite love interest, but at least she has some good porn
Frick off. If TOH has one good thing going for it is that it shows two people being in a healthy relationship where they are comfortable with one another. I cannot even begin to describe how refreshing it is to see something like this.
You don't like this? You think watching a happy relationship is boring? You want to see shitty people get into complicated relationships? You want to see them argue and b***h and cry and have hate sex and wonder why they're in a relationship in the first place? You want angst and suffering? You have the vast majority of romance on TV where you can get your dosage of that. Don't insist on shoving that shit everywhere.
You clearly dont know the meaning o satellite love interest. Im not against the relationship, but since amity fell in love with luz she has all her aspirations and ambitions reduced to Being with her.
Probably a lie. I haven't seen Season 2 yet but I know people have said many positive things about her Season 2 episodes.
Anon I'm referring to the idea that when a character is revealed to be a lesbian their character shifts drastically into "OwO aren't they so cute together". I'm not implying that you couldn't right Amity to both "be a alpha b***h" and "a lesbian" just that when writing lesbians cartoons really have a problem of just pivoting a character into the cliche lesbian trope.
>Rich family
Barely plays any role in Season 1. >Uppity
We saw her act uppity to two people, one of which arguably deserved scrutiny. >Top of the class

So struggling
No. We didn't see any actual struggling until Anne yells at her. Everything beforehand? Totally fine, no contradiction in her mind.

It's literally the entire basis of why she was who she was at the start of the show. Her parents didn't want her associating with someone they found beneath them and paired her with other upper class girls >We saw her act uppity to two people, one of which arguably deserved scrutiny
Not like we really even saw her interacting with many people outside of her circle of friends, Willow and Luz. Her public image was that of being uppity while she had a hidden side to her with her job at the library and her relationship with her siblings

We only found this out later on. Also, now you're finding reason for her not being a good person.
Just want something that'll be interesting and unique, not the same happy go lucky things we've seen in the past, anon. Unfortunately, can't have that when everything is quantity over quality these days, the expected occurs and nothing new is made or tried in these shows, right anon?

In what others shows have you seen two partners being genuinely comfortable near each other without any pointless drama or will they won't they?
>She was trying to look like one.
She would specifically go out of her way just to frick with Willow even when no one was around. Why? Willow already knew to stay away from her at that point.
This shippergays mind is so far gone that they can't even comprehend the idea of people not wanting the 2 characters in a romantic relationship to begin with.

What relationship? They're 2 teens who still live with their parents. All they've done is kiss.

Every romcom writer knows this.

You've never been in a real relationship, have you?

It's a show about teenagers for teenagers.

Try to figure out why all shows about romance and relationships are written this way.
They're comfortable around each other. They are on the same wavelength, on the same level, despite their differences none of their interactions feel strained or forced. They act like mature, healthy people who are there for each other. What the frick is wrong with enjoying this? Why should I want there to be constant arguments or miscommunications between them? Why shouldn't I enjoy watching two happy mature people together?
>If TOH has one good thing going for it is that it shows two people being in a healthy relationship where they are comfortable with one another.
It's fricking NICE to see a healthy relationship in media for once.
You're preaching to the choir anon. Most people here didn't even watch the show and are going off what they've heard. It took 1 and a half seasons for them to end up together but this board acts like they scissored by the 2nd episode
I didn't get the impression she was hetero or didn't have a crush on Luz (the diary suggested it). But her entire personality shifts, there's no build up, it's literally just "now she's a shy dyke, bro".

It's sad that you're proud to say you watched that garbage
Yes. I've seen some people say that season 2 is better but the pacing of development in season 1 was so fricking shit that I have no interest in the show anymore.
it's how language works, right or wrong, sensible or fricking insane, mindlessly cruel and backward or thoughtful, empathic, and progressive... NONE OF IT MATTERS. Suddenly people start inventing words that suddenly, for no fricking reason at all, become popular and now it's as if it always existed and everything changes.
Sometimes they are momentary fads that people forget in a few years. Sometimes they are the beginnings of an entire transformation for an ancient language that has persisted intact for thousands of years. It simply happens. No one can control it (although tons of different ideologies will definitely take credit for it) and it happens no matter how you feel about it.
Language is a fricking SPOOK.
She was straight when she first appeared and even now with lumity in full swing she's straight coded. They had to basically lobotomise Amitys personality to make lumity work and even still their relationship rings false. Like badly written fanfiction.
It means she was, however unintentional, written as a straight character. It's why Amity loses so much personality as soon as she starts dating Luz, because it's not something her character would naturally do.
Did she ever even really interact with any guys her own age? Most of the time she was with her popular girl clique or interacting with Luz and Willow. And of course “the human” would come up a lot in her diaries, a lot of shit had been happening that threw her status quo into turmoil since Luz showed up. That’s kinda the sort of thing that would make its way into a diary
I have the feeling that no one in this thread knows what they are talking about this character or the show as a whole.
This is the same episode where Amity gets a quick blush of a few seconds abut the whole Azura book club preposition from Luz (She also learns a fire spell).
Also, we don't know the gender of that character, it could be non-binary or something.
>Gus seems to be hated by Dana
No, Gus got a lot better in S2.
I feel like Willow was the most neglected character among the teenager cast, probably because she didn't have as much going on like Amity or Hunter.
I do wonder if Amity is going to ger her purple eyes in S3.
They've forshadowed her more wholesome personality in episode 7
I do wish she'd use more of her alpha-bitcheness as a helping tool, like that's what she be contributing in the season 1 finale, instead of being written off
I don't think they were actually going to do it. They just knew Willow was a cheating ho, like yknow "well if it's just an abomination you won't mind if I cut it open, here, have the first stab".
its less that she looks better and more that you know its dye now and not just a weird witch hair color, so it makes her look like try hard either way, and also that dana has the same hair makes its kind of creepy.
Why does this fantasy medieval witch world have woke 21st century sentiments towards homosexuality and trannies
"I may be shitting my diseased guts out into the chamber pot because basic sanitation standards don't exist, but at least it's legal and socially acceptable to be gay"
They cohabit a world with literal monsters, I doubt they care about sexual weirdness. And they have magic, they would be sanitary af.
Why does this fantasy medieval witch world have woke 21st century sentiments towards homosexuality and trannies
"I may be shitting my diseased guts out into the chamber pot because basic sanitation standards don't exist, but at least it's legal and socially acceptable to be gay"
Willow is fricking doormat during the entire season 1, she is a nothing character, she is just the "the main character's non threatening in any way fat friend", absolutely horrible
At least in s2 they gave her a love interest and made her some kinda of fat-strong she beast, it is an upgrade from what she was but it is not great
I like Willow but yeah, she got her confidence back but yeah, she had nothing going with her.
I never liked that Willow (And Gus) was very strong from the very beginning. She should have get a focus in her gifted powers but nothing.
The only characters who got power progression were Luz, Amity and King.
hard to say, we know she wasn't originally meant to be Luz's love interest (based on the writing and the writers "disagreement" about who it should be)
My guess is a bland becomes friends with Willow again plot and bully of the day episodes.
Molly and Libby aren't gay but would be with each other for the sake of making the other happy
"I don't think of it as being gay. Its just like being best friends but...we're closer!"
I would love to see an episode where Molly is so nice to the new girl that she thinks Molly wants to be her gf and Molly is completely oblivious and thinks dating is actually just a best friends day.
Molly finally realizes what is going on and has to disappoint the shit out of the new girl because small towns usually don't have as many gay people and that means that she will likely stay alone until she goes out to college and convinces the straight girls to experiment
Oh please, she was already lusting over Luz before that. Also, Luz going from complete oblivious moron to loving her back is also rushed and ridiculous. Dana must have known Disney didn't want this shit in their TV shows, so she fricked it up on purpose because she knew the LGBT twitter community would accept anything.
The show is about forcing a straight girl to be gay. Amity was never gay and she isn't gay now. Lumity forces her character into something that would never have been natural to her.
I do miss when she was a jerkwad, but I suppose much of it comes from the pressure of being her mother's daughter. Her mother's got hips for days and is only held back by her b***hy attitude, so Luz has very good days coming for her if Amity remains this infatuated with her.
>shows up >mercs the main character >refuses to elaborate >leaves
next episode >shows up >ties Luz up easily >Luz has to be deus ex machina'd to get away as Hunter got fricked by a massive dragon >Hunter proceeds to merc Kikimora too
next episode >says "you'd win" to Amity
all following episodes >uses his teleport spell and is generally useless
face it, he was turned into a loser cause Dana didn't like having a white boy being so strong in her precious lesbian cartoon and breaking her immersion into her self-insert Little Witch Academia yuri fanfiction
It makes sense. We don't see her "home" life in the Coven. Chances are she's had to do nothing, but work for years with only her one day off to be a nerd.
Amity's real problem is that she's a satellite love interest stuck as supporting cast revolving around mostly only Luz and motivated only by Luz, so we don't get anything that's truly Amity-centric. She herself is not an interesting character, only surrounded by more enticing characters and ideas like her parents, and has a relatively played out sad bully backstory we've seen a thousand times since Draco Malfoy fanon became a household name among women. It's a cheap and nonsensical way to justify or reason why children bully other children (my parents aren't mean to me) when in reality most bullies come from upper class homes and are raised spoiled and coddled and with love, raised to think they can get away with anything because they're untouchable (Boscha is more accurate, down to believing in herself and thinking she's the shit, Sasha also counts).
Amity doesn't make any sense - there's no real explanation for her falling in love with Luz after she humiliated her four times in every aspect of her life the first four times they met. Amity was okay with being an butthole in private to Willow and King even when not surrounded by her fake friends, so why would Luz accept her when Luz was a victim of bullying and rejection? If anything Luz's fantasy archetype fixation gives her more grounds to like Amity first.
things Amity had going for her story wise >Lilith's apprentice
tons of material here,
Amity could have been Luz's rival even as a girlfriend,
Amity could think Eda is wasted her potential with her way of magic and is wasting Luz's. >Willow's friend to bully
sooo much could have been done here, for both characters. >top of her class student
now it seems like she is fine with doing only ok in class, having her wanting to be #1 could have given her moments of learning new spells. >wants to join the emperor coven
her driving goal that isn't replaced with anything
and makes it seem likes she has no goal after school
or any reason to be at school if she's not going to join.
This could have also played with her trying to turn Eda in. >she really good at abomination magic
lots of magic specialties gets overshadowed by Luz's glyphs being so strong and not confined to one school of magic.
Yep, they ruin a fun character for the sake of gayness once again.
She was never a real jerk. She was trying to look like one.

Top student mean girl isn't that new of a concept.

Bullshit. She bullies Willow in private you can't write that off she was evil but is made good 6 episodes later for lesbo brownie points
She tries to push Willow away because she doesn't want to be associated with her.

I don't think they were actually going to do it. They just knew Willow was a cheating ho, like yknow "well if it's just an abomination you won't mind if I cut it open, here, have the first stab".
People who watched that scene really didn't know that Bump was bluffing all long.
No, she goes from jerk to nervous wreck in two episodes. THEN she goes to kind-hearted jerk to blushing awkward lesbian to superpowered witch.

She's better with green hair.
You take that back!
Why would I take back something that I'm right about.
Because you know your wrong and her natural hair looks better than both green and purple.
I love more the purple.

Dana has fantastic taste in girls & women.

At least in s2 they gave her a love interest and made her some kinda of fat-strong she beast, it is an upgrade from what she was but it is not great
Gus is still dogshit.
I like Willow but yeah, she got her confidence back but yeah, she had nothing going with her.
I never liked that Willow (And Gus) was very strong from the very beginning. She should have get a focus in her gifted powers but nothing.
The only characters who got power progression were Luz, Amity and King.
>At least in s2
I'll take you word for it cause I dropped this shit after it turned out Lilith cursed Eda.
Man this show has shitty writing.
That wasn't bad writing dude. That was a good plotpoint.
Seeing a character being reduced to being a shallow LGBT symbol is getting tiring.
Makes me wonder what was the original plot was going to be for Amity. She would've been better as a rival character to Luz
>Makes me wonder what was the original plot was going to be for Amity.
there is none, there never has, lol.
hard to say, we know she wasn't originally meant to be Luz's love interest (based on the writing and the writers "disagreement" about who it should be)
My guess is a bland becomes friends with Willow again plot and bully of the day episodes.
>(based on the writing and the writers "disagreement" about who it should be)
??????????
Sabrina Cotugno
worked on the show and then left
most likely from not getting along with other writers.
Isn't that the same person who claimed every star vs character is bisexual
Luz x Eda was originally a thing
Conoghi makes the best amity lewds
I love my wife
My wife.
Why did you post a picture of Willow, anon? This is the Amity thread
yeah, he should post Amity pictures like this one
Hunter doesn't deserve Amity, only I deserve Amity.
Gross. Luz is way better looking than Hunter.
Would you?
Yes. I just wouldn't marry her.
This
Molly and Libby aren't gay but would be with each other for the sake of making the other happy
Finally! People realize that Amity's shift in personality and relationship with Luz came out of fricking nowhere!
Also, Lunter is better.
It's not like they went on several wacky adventures together and she realized Luz is a qt or something.
>All this talk of Amity
All I can think about is "this is a show about a girl from earth under the care of an elder witch, right?"
This is a show about a girl from Earth under the careful grooming of an elder witch.
Quick, post your cutest Amity!
YOU VILL WATCH CARTOON LESBIANS KISS UND YOU VILL BE HAPPY. PRAISE MOLOCH.
Yes, I will, considering how cute they are.
Amity is a cartoon cis/het girl that was twisted into a lesbian against her character.
Seeing a character irreparably ruined is never cute.
>Seeing a character irreparably ruined is never cute.
Thankfully, we haven't seen that.
We have. It's the entire basis for the show.
>Entire basis of the show
So she was gay from the outset?
The show is about forcing a straight girl to be gay. Amity was never gay and she isn't gay now. Lumity forces her character into something that would never have been natural to her.
Possibly as the self insert of the creator.
The entire show is window dressing to Nefcy having her self-insert hook up with an OC version of her college crush.
I do miss when she was a jerkwad, but I suppose much of it comes from the pressure of being her mother's daughter. Her mother's got hips for days and is only held back by her b***hy attitude, so Luz has very good days coming for her if Amity remains this infatuated with her.
So this kid went from smug villain to mopy pathetic loser over the course of like 3 episodes?
To be fair. He was a loser as a villain too. Sure he had his moments of competence, but just as often he was thwarted easily.
>shows up
>mercs the main character
>refuses to elaborate
>leaves
next episode
>shows up
>ties Luz up easily
>Luz has to be deus ex machina'd to get away as Hunter got fricked by a massive dragon
>Hunter proceeds to merc Kikimora too
next episode
>says "you'd win" to Amity
all following episodes
>uses his teleport spell and is generally useless
face it, he was turned into a loser cause Dana didn't like having a white boy being so strong in her precious lesbian cartoon and breaking her immersion into her self-insert Little Witch Academia yuri fanfiction
So this woman went from smug villain to goofy nerd over the course of like two episodes?
It makes sense. We don't see her "home" life in the Coven. Chances are she's had to do nothing, but work for years with only her one day off to be a nerd.
Revealing her most evil acts (intentionally cursing Eda and then throwing Luz off a cliff to her death) before redeeming her was a weird ass decision.
What if Season 2 was supposed to be a transitional season where the Hexside squad replaced Eda, King, and Hooty as the main ensemble cast?
things Amity had going for her story wise
>Lilith's apprentice
tons of material here,
Amity could have been Luz's rival even as a girlfriend,
Amity could think Eda is wasted her potential with her way of magic and is wasting Luz's.
I miss butthole Amity
weird thing was that dana posted this right after amity became nice to luz. that's how fast it happened in the show.
Sucks, butthole girlfriend would have been actually great.
