I'm just waiting for the hundreds of YouTube video essays we'll get on this years down the line. >Hey folks today we'll be discussing Zack Snyder's ill-fated space opera, optimistically subtitled "Part One: A Child of Fire", and we'll be examining why it failed to stick around in the cinematic zeitgeist.
It was alright. You could dual wield rocket launchers and fire them in slow mo. Remember the story being convoluted but the ending xliffhanger was pretty compelling. Shame it never got a sequel.
The problem is the slo-mo is put on unnecessary part of combat so it feels like he prolonged the scene on purpose, better shoot like batman fight in BvS
I just want to watch it for the rape scene. I know it's probably just evil white officer person ravaging the heroine's sister or some shit, rather than the hot alien tentacle rape that we deserve, but I'll take what I can get. Because.... I like rape.
this was like watching a terrible video game >tutorial planet >you are just secret badass who just needs to remember your skillset >travel to new planet for plot device >beat an event to collect a new teammate >do this 3 more times >flashback level >time to fight the bad guy >sequel bait scene you might see if you beat the game on hard mode
Snyder has been directing video games without the gameplay for decades. It's kind of his thing. It's why I liked his movies when I eas a teenager. It's why he's appealing to young men in general. It's also why aside from teenagers his fanbase is mostly developmentally stunted slavs and pajeets.
>video games rip off movies >moronic children get raised by video games >finally start watching movies and think movies ripped off video games
I hate you morons
>make a classic big-budget sci-fi action movie >release it on a single streaming website >no widespread theatrical release, no release on other sites
What a shock that it failed.
If it was on Amazon or at the local theater, I'd have watched it, but since I don't use Netflix, I haven't seen it.
It's available to stream in HD from any "watch free movies" website.
That's a nice thing about digital releases.
However I can't say it's really worth watching.
He tried to do too much too fast. He introduced a bunch of characters we dont know or give a shit about then tries to pull off the big Avengers group battle at the end but again we dont know or give a shit about any of these characters so its like unm yay they're all together I guess I should care about this but I just dont. Basically Justice League all over again.
Bargain bin equivalent of an asset flip game trying to rip off star wars and warhammer at the same time.
Knew it was doomed to be dumped by Netflix which is why there are no character arcs. Just instant tropes. They barely managed 15 minutes of space nazi robot immediately becoming a sympathetic figure.
Zero vision or originality, just tropes upon tropes like Snyder was given a checklist.
I watched it with no opinion about it going in either way. The slow motion inside slow motion scenes were too fricking gay. The more it happened the more irritated I became.
Also, am I the only one who thought the Indian looked like a young Matthew Mcconaughey?
Finally watched it last night, the worldbuilding was cool except for the classic "is the space future n shieet but we larp as 19th century peasants, civil war dudes or 40s noir detectives" I've seen before in science fiction.
Also it felt rushed, maybe the frick as long director cut solves this
Synder rushed a shitty edit to get it into the netflix theatre to be eligible for awards. There'll be a superior directors cut on the full release that will be like 3hrs longer and certified kino like the rest of his directors cuts, including sucker punch
It’s funny. The family watched it when we met at my parents house for Christmas and new years >brother puts on the movie since it was one of the advertised new movies >dad watches the intro and leaves to go watch some war movie I forget which one in his room >5 minutes later my sister starts playing with the cats >mom goes into the kitchen and starts making Christmas cookies, she does watch and react positively to when they stop the rape though >I stop paying attention after the botched rape and only remember vaguely some boring bar scene and a moronic slow motion sequence of some guy mounting a gryphon (it was first at this moment that I noticed it was a znyder movie and it clicked why there was so much fricking slow mo) >stopped watching completely after the Gryphon mounting but at that point I was already just paying 10% attention >brother who started the movie shuts it off some minutes later saying it was boring
I dunno how far into the movie that is but it was so fricking bland and boring I’m never gonna finish it.
entire premise is "evil" empire that was once not so evil destroying everything & taking from entire star systems leaving billions dead & their planet's barren waste
The buildup is left in the cutroom too much, and it just shows Kora have naruto talk no jutsu/100 speech skill that everyone is persuaded instantly. I believe Zack cut lots of them for 3 hr netflix. Honestly it's better if its a vidya gaem
>empire offers you 3x market rate for wheat and free robot labor to harvest >decide to fight a war against the millions of soldiers instead >spend two hours hiring like 4 people with stupid names like Krinkle the Blood Diaper and Targoth Fire breasts >throw a spear at a space ship and win >movie just ends
You know it's bad when even the snydertards aren't pushing this shit everywhere like their awful and edgy Justice League.
Just watched it like 20 minutes, only positive thing I can say is the actor that plays the nazi guy in the beginning did a great job, dropped it right at the robot washing itself in the river and a young girl in the community suddenly having empathy for it, such a stupid thing
>ray fishers character gets introduced in the final act >5 minutes later, he has a dramatic death scene with swelling orchestral music >its played up as some sad emotional moment that we're meant to give a shit about
I enjoyed laughing at this movie for how shit it is. Can't wait for the sequel tbh.
Yeah, like literally everything else released nowadays.
cause it was shit
Zack fricking Snyder
I'm just waiting for the hundreds of YouTube video essays we'll get on this years down the line.

reminds me of that orson scott card xbox game
I'm guessing you mean this.
I've never heard of it but I guess that's the point.
It was alright. You could dual wield rocket launchers and fire them in slow mo. Remember the story being convoluted but the ending xliffhanger was pretty compelling. Shame it never got a sequel.

Netflix can't pay shills forever
I'm just waiting for the director's cut.
Oh and that too pissed me off. He does that entirely too often. LEARN HOW TO EDIT A FRICKING MOVIE. Thank you.
I just want to watch it for the rape scene. I know it's probably just evil white officer person ravaging the heroine's sister or some shit, rather than the hot alien tentacle rape that we deserve, but I'll take what I can get. Because.... I like rape.

>doesn't have a firestick
come on anon......
>theatrical release
you can't be for real, with how much $$$$ they spent & absolutely no movie ticket sales thats crazy!
still waiting for the 2nd part though who knows maybe it'll do well enough for part 3?
>that pic
Is that AI? It's getting better at mimicking imperfections like teeth if so.
Zack Snyder movies have the cultural impact of a wet fart
>release movie
>simultaneously say that extended cut is the actual full experience
>delay that cut for months
baffling

That's because this one time, absolutely ALL the critics were 100% right.
Every video game movie.
Finally watched it and I regret it. The cgi was horrific didn't they spend a ton making this filth?
when you copy slop like starwars you are bound to get something even more slop. The girl was cute the plot was SHIT.
>The girl was cute
That is objectively false.
I'm sorry she isn't black and fat and transgender.
hard to believe she isn't transgender since she looks like a man
??? you are sounding kinda gay tbh, oh well more mating press creampie sekk's for me.
She aged badly
yes!
Y-you just wait for the Snydercut!!!

the nazi aesthetic really destroyed the films good will. zoomers especially are sick and tired of that scapegoat
They were Russians.
Synder rushed a shitty edit to get it into the netflix theatre to be eligible for awards. There'll be a superior directors cut on the full release that will be like 3hrs longer and certified kino like the rest of his directors cuts, including sucker punch
This movie feels like a re-edited version of a miniseries I've never seen.
That's what it literally is
It’s funny. The family watched it when we met at my parents house for Christmas and new years

Netflix was bragging about it at the last shreholdwrs event, seems like it was a business success.
Havnt watched and won’t and don’t care if it was good or bad, would be happy if Zaxh succeeded (but don’t care to watch)
I tried to watch it twice and fell asleep both times
The buildup is left in the cutroom too much, and it just shows Kora have naruto talk no jutsu/100 speech skill that everyone is persuaded instantly. I believe Zack cut lots of them for 3 hr netflix. Honestly it's better if its a vidya gaem
>any significant impact
It made disney shills seethe. Also, made me want to see the four hour version.
Badass slow motion action only works when it's less than 10% of the movie.
It would be so funny if this was the thing that killed off Star Wars for good.
>empire offers you 3x market rate for wheat and free robot labor to harvest
>decide to fight a war against the millions of soldiers instead
>spend two hours hiring like 4 people with stupid names like Krinkle the Blood Diaper and Targoth Fire breasts

I liked it, no shitty comedy gimmick telling stupid jokes every two minutes. Directly to the point. Cool Characters.
You know it's bad when even the snydertards aren't pushing this shit everywhere like their awful and edgy Justice League.
Just watched it like 20 minutes, only positive thing I can say is the actor that plays the nazi guy in the beginning did a great job, dropped it right at the robot washing itself in the river and a young girl in the community suddenly having empathy for it, such a stupid thing
you'll be happy to know in the director's cut they're releasing the nazi guy gets raped by a bunch of tentacles
MALE tentacle rape? Bleck. That is most definitely not my thing. At all.
The funniest thing about this crap is that Zack Snyder and Netflix are acting like they've created a masterpiece.
still better than capeshit
I will watch the sequels. curious what the lore will be like in the end
>still better than capeshit
It's exactly like capeshit
>ray fishers character gets introduced in the final act
>5 minutes later, he has a dramatic death scene with swelling orchestral music
>its played up as some sad emotional moment that we're meant to give a shit about
I enjoyed laughing at this movie for how shit it is. Can't wait for the sequel tbh.
it's woke!
woke!!!
WOKE WOKE WOKE!!!
CANCEL IT!!!
It's definitely a cult classic but the people who will view it as such are still toddlers.
