Irredeemable is a genuinely fantastic "what if bad superman" comic because its so absurd, and instead of "superman but bad" you really go into detail about how fricked he was.

Omni-Man getting called a Superman knockoff is sort of inaccurate. The actual comic had him rebel and fight Mark on like issue 12, and from there went in a completely different direction.

The Boys comic has a great narrative structure and character writing for Butcher in particular, and I like it for the final two arcs alone where everything falls into place, but everything in between is typical stupid Ennis edginess that almost entirely ruins the good parts
He's sort of like a Lex Luthor by way of Dr. Doom which makes his scenes with Qbit work, since Qbit's Reed Richards.
i kind of love quibit more as a character than reed richards, despite richards having vastly more issues. you outright see quibit realize that who he used to be won't be enough to stop plutonian. plutonian is not just an earth level threat, hes a potential solar system buster. esp near the end of the comic
homelander was never even close to the plutonian in any way, at any point, ever. The plutonian legitimately did good things and wanted to be good but snapped under the unreal pressure he was subjected to, homelander was just ruined from the start. Also homelander can't compete in terms of power level. So yeah he's shittier but I think it's unfair to say he's related to the plutonian in any way beyond being kind of like superman.
