The core dynamic of the show was founded on the idea that Molly was well-meaning but wrong and Scratch was a total butthole but objectively correct in most cases, which was actually very clever because it allowed the show to be moralistic without becoming preachy.
Basically it did this really clever thing where it turned the old Captain Planet complainer-is-always-wrong mentality on its head by making the complainer right, but for the wrong reasons. A good example is the talent show episode from S1 where Scratch spends the entire time telling Molly to tell the truth (which ends up being the correct answer) but it's made clear the only reason he's doing this is because he thinks it'll break Libby's heart.
But then we moved away from Scratch/Molly as the core dynamic and Scratch started interacting with the wider cast and we got more focus episodes for side characters which made the dynamic kind of break down because the show was very much balanced around that original and Scratch mellowing out into S2 really didn't help matters either.
Also we burned through like every plot thread S1 established because Motz-Roth clearly thought they were getting shitcanned (and yeah it's DTVA understandable) so S2 felt like a scramble to find new problems for Molly and co.
Overall it was a serviceable show, great source of reaction images, and a solid performance by Dana Snyder but it definitely lost steam as it went.
A second season usually ups the ante and that's kinda the case with Molly but everything new they added was lame and had an underwhelming conclusion (the not!Jeff Bezos corpo ceo teased at the end of the Andrea app episode? Only appears for 2-5 seconds in the follow-up episode for that plotline).
Still I enjoyed the episodes but it's not as great as season one.
>ups the ante
I feel like there was an attempt here but they pulled the rug for some reason, perhaps the budget didn't allow it. So instead of more ghostly adventures we've never seen before, we got more bottled episodes and a ton of recycled assets.
The only things it did right was Molly and scratch and thier relationship and even that worsened as it went on. Everything else was too flawed or bland.
Her boyfriend ruined the show, a romance could work if he was an interesting, flawed and funny character but he feels like a self insert OC created by a 11 year old.
>inb4 she's 13
Andrea being into fatties, apparently.
Can't decide whether it wants to have a plot or be episodic.

Also really bland or uninteresting side characters
what and

ghost shit was boring and most episode plots are honesty boring, or at least the execution of them is
same thing that always gays wrong
i mean gays
i mean gays
I actually mean gays
Unironically the fact that all 40 episodes were written at the same time instead of writing season 2 after getting the audience reception to season 1.
John K/his blog inspired cartoon that refuses to acknowledge him and his legacy. Cognitive dissonance doesn't work well
It's not about Libby.

Ghost Molly never possessed Amdrea and enjoyed her life as a hot popular girl
I want to see leaks of The End, does anyone have them?
Fricked up their main character by putting him with some dickshit no one likes and sidelined her female friends.
being boring

Despite expanding the concepts season 2 only became more boring as time went on
It's really the fault of bad execution, particularly not giving enough screen time to exploring those concepts and giving viewers a reason to care.
following up the GOAT Owl House
Disney channel cartoon made for kids
