Did you know Sarah Gadon and MacKenzie Davis are both Canadian actresses almost the exact same age, only born 3 days apart? They even both appeared in the same movie once.
Very good and on par with the original. Only gripe would be occasional unneeded audience handholding, and the visual look being slightly too spare some of the time. 9/10.
kino, goose is literally me in this movie
Also just an incredibly well done sequel to the first. Does an amazing job of stepping into the world of the original and building on it while still remaining faithful to the vision of the original
>Video Game Iconography >Dishonest Cinematography >Proto-Slysoy Disenfranchisement peddled as Incel entertainment/Beta Powerplay >Barking indefinite hipster score >Neo Cinemaphileeddit hangups: camera schizophrenia and meme dialogue = GO WEREWOLF AND GO WILD/MENTALLY ILL LONER*SOCIETY >Meta-Quip syndrome (refusing to quip is just as problematic as indulging in See: Nolan) >Post-Capeshit pretensions >Effeminate Pacing >Stoicism as social currency inverted through solipsistic imdb fetish
>Meta-Quip syndrome (refusing to quip is just as problematic as indulging in See: Nolan)
good. quipping is the equivalent of begging your audience to laugh.
Would have surpassed the original if it had cut out Harrison Ford's lazy ass out of the film
Looks like he walked on set in his street clothes, read his lines 20 minutes before and said I'M NOT DOING MORE THAN 2 FRICKING TAKES
People hate on Leto in it for being a try hard, but Ford is worse for being the complete opposite
Yeah it didnt need him to be in it, but you'd have to change the story a lot to cut him out. I don't really like how the city looks, the holograms make it too similar to the GITS movie city. I would also cut the hologram sex scene they stole from Her.
10/10 kino until Harrison Ford shows up. Once Goose busts like Kool Aid Man through a steel reinforced, granite-clad concrete wall, it is effectively over as a serious piece of cinema.
Kino and better than the original
nah
it's good but not that good
nobody here has ever seen that movie
true
I watched it. It was so kino when, um, Harrison Ford killed Ryan Gosling.
This film, like many others, would have been vastly improved by the casting of the Canadian actress Sarah Gadon.
Yup, would have made a good background Replicant prostitute to MacKenzie Davis.

k?k?k?

>audience handholding
Those moments felt like the studio worrying that people couldn't follow the plot
Dishonest
I like it and watch it every 6 months or so. It's deeper than you might think.

QRD on Proto-Slysoy Disenfranchisement?
Ironically, this is as sincere and detailed as film discussion can get.
It's slop but Cinemaphile likes it because Gosling plays an autist with a AI waifu

Either Denis or the writer has no subtlety or trust in the audience. Too much exposition . Good visuals, soundtrack, and general storyline though.
unironically kino
Some idiot in the thread yesterday said it's a bad movie because it doesn't have the same "message" as the original. lmfao

Reminder
Holy mother of dishonest filmmaking
Modern filmmaking
it's great, I like it, seen it multiple times
I don't watch Hackneuveslop.
