Hosts campaigning has always led to issues within the tournaments. What was particularly concerning about NSA is that we are talking about a host who was already infamous for his seeming incompetency and bizarre decission-making. Even without the full knowledge NSA was also running smear campaigns and even sometimes attempted to persecute other people, the fact alone she was secretly campaign this entire time rather than making sure to run the tournament properly really does put things into perspective.
My biggest issue with NSA is that he seems and claims to hate the tournaments while also desiring complete control over it. Basically he's doing this out of narcissism
She hates hosting the tournaments, but she would hate it even more if anyone else did.
NSA taken as whole is the problem. The campaigning alone? potentially suspect but fine if the host has a clean rep. everywhere else.
NSA was a c**t autist with a lot of controversies. Her weird stubborn rulegayging positions and stipulations (like loser's bracket outta nowhere) and outright stating the tourney is about OC make a lot more sense knowing she was a massive spiteful astroturfing drawgay campaigner.

By the end so few people were interested in NSA's epic manufactured finale that the threads devolved into shitposting, soijak posting, and at one point got hijacked by a fake OP. There was a lot of messy shit going on all throughout.
No I totally agree that it was generally a shitshow, but I was specifically talking about the anons posting there was actually engaging with the threads and not referring to the frickery about NSA. In that regard, referring specifically to the posts throughout the tournament that were actually in the spirit of the threads, people were having fun. And because people were having fun, actually making content etc, certain anons started getting b***hy and throwing hissyfits just to try and shit up the threads even more.
The "high and mighty" shit is just false, quite a few anons were posting in good faith and trying to enjoy the tourney in spite of the moronic NSA drama. It isn't really but people don't care or are fine so long as there can be a semblance of things going okay. Then it turned out NSA was a crazy hoe campaigner with Wuya bias and more people started going 'hmm maybe that was a little bullshit'.
Because the tournament still played out in an acceptable way. Eris kind of steamrolling with a strong campaign supporting her matched everyone's expectations after 2021, and Wuya's seeding no longer fricking up her early round matches made people think she actually had legs. I'm still not really that skeptical of her win even though I didn't vote for her, but it's hard to trust NSA after knowing he was campaigning for Wuya and others when he could see the results all along.

To be fair, they're not the first ones to do that, it felt that way with Fang in 2022 and with Spinel in 2019 as well. But thankfully these guys were less successful.
