Not all, but the bickering about the iron throne and other political bullshit should have been revealed to really be as petty as people expected it to be when faced with annihilation. Instead Ice King gets stabbed and zombies go poof. No wonder the fat moron refuses to work on the novels, nobody likes the overarching story points and ending he planned out with D&D.
I think something like that definitely should have happened. And probably will in the books. The way it played out, most of the realm still wouldn't have any reason to believe the walkers were even real and would just laugh at the 'lies' told by northerners. And Cersei was proven correct not to send any help to fight them.
I really wished that while the north was suffering from a white walker invasion, the south began suffering from famine and the realization that they are totally unprepared for the onset of just the season of winter. Cersi debt problems should have come to bite her in the ass and she should have experienced the equivalent of a French revolution in her capital.
this is almost as bad as the original ending. White walkers should have decimated Winterfell. Hell you could have kept Arya with Brandon warning her to get her ass out of there.
Yes Winterfell should’ve fallen (kek) and the final battle should’ve been at the capital. And that big mysterious dragon that’s supposedly out there somewhere in the world should come in and save the day.
Depends on what point in the show you want to explore. Robb had it but fumbled so hard. Gendry grew up to be a fine young man and the throne is his by birthright but problem with him and Bran is that afterwards they become figureheads, those 2 characters don’t have actual motives or agency. I don’t think anyone took Stannis as a serious contender but it was particularly sad to see his plot line ultimately come to a dead end, which you’d think would lead to the truth of the lord of light. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of dead ends with the show. After rewatching a few episodes from the first season I’m fairly set on Jon Snow. He had the biggest hype, and had the birthright being Aegon Targaryen the third. And given the dragon/sun symbolism he was the perfect antithesis to the long night. Had he won an epic 1v1 with the night king his rise to the throne would’ve been monumental.
Jon Snu
Stannis obviously.

I cringed so hard watching the first episode. It was just quirky slapslick jokes and booba. Literally the most reddit shit i ever seen. Goyslop

The Night King
>Night King skips Winterfell and attacks the capital
>Winterfell becomes the site of the last stand
Kind of dumb but I'd love it
