Alien since there’s more and the new movies just feel like throwing shit and seeing what sticks. Imo most of the predator movies are at least watchable. I’d still watch Predator 2 over Alien Resurrection any day.

I liked Prey but the connection to the gun is moronic
Alien, but its highs are much higher and it’s easy to frick up when you take the real sci-fi elements that make the series more interesting and just turn it into mindless fodder. Predator is kind of like Jason in a way. There’s far less depth and you just have to get the simple formula right to make a decent movie. Alien fell farther because it’s tried way too many different ideas and flip-flopped genres all the time. Predator has always just been a technologically advanced slasher villain with some gay “honor” code or whatever.
This. Isolation is on par if not better than the original. It's definitely FAR scarier. Only b***hy redditors discount it because muh video game when they're too chicken shit to get past the first alien encounter then whine that it kills them too much. They're not even as good as Ripley kek.
I think the last genuinely good mainline Alien movie was Aliens, Alien 3 and Resurrection weren't as bad as the modern ones and I like them but they don't come close to Aliens
I fricking hate everything Prometheus and Covenant did, every character in these movies including the Engineers is a fricking idiot and I actually root for David to wipe them out because none of their actions make sense

And the next movie and TV show are really not looking good. They don't seem to know or care what made Alien work or be special.
