>he never went down there with the boys and played with the rats from the gutters and fed them corn and shit that would get stuck in their teeth
lol fricking zoomers
it features in so any movies (currently watching t2) and i'm just wondering if it was a thing or was used because it's a massive empty prop that happens to be in la.
The LA river is real. That bridge WAS real until they replaced it with a new one. There are multiple bridges going over the river. Yes you can get down there and walk around. Yes you can get down there with a car, but you don't want to do that because then the cops get on your ass. And you especially don't want to go down there when its raining. It usually has a small amount of runoff water going through it like a stream. But when it starts raining its the main channel to allow ALL the water emptying from LA streets to head to the ocean. Every year people get trapped in the river and either die or need rescue as soon as it starts raining hard. Its a kino location to shoot stuff because usually its empty and allows for easy filming
My friends and I used to take dirt bikes down and act like we were doing the chase from T2
I like fishing in it for crawdads.
>My friends and I used to take dirt bikes down and act like we were doing the chase from T2
i'm both smiling and upset i will never have this childhood. utter kino.
>haha when I was a kid we’d play with garbage and rats and it’s only getting worse!
wtf? we live in Hell
can’t say I feel I missed out not playing with rats as a boy
There was this one rat who we used to play fetch with pieces of licorice with. Only time I've ever known a rat to like licorice.
You still can. Also the bridge got torn down and the new bridge is crazy with people and cars just hanging out there like its something to do.
Yeah 6th street bridge was the easiest way in with motorcycles and mopeds before they tore it down to rebuild. Over by 1st bridge is still stupid easy to get in on foot.
wait this is real I thought it was just a set for the movies?!
Yes, it's a massive drain that prevents cities from going underwater whenever it rains. America needed them because they built on massive flood plains so they have these to stop the water from ever getting too high. Other countries have similar means of drainage usually just digging out a canal so that it's way deeper
>LA
>rain
does this really happen often?!
It doesn't. But when it does it's hilarious LA drivers act as if rain is snow or ice. Schools have to get cancelled and the national guard called in because it rained for the first time in 4 years.
Also a lot of this was built decades ago back when the Colorado river also still had water in it and it wasn't all being used to water golf courses around Las Vegas,.
most of the water from lake mead goes to California you homosexual moron
>water from lake mead
all 10 drops of it now
>lake mead
Was it originally a viking settlement?
Bruh shut your moronic flyover ass up. We just had a thunderstorm and nobody cared.
Fyi They call this 3rd world shithole the L.A River
there's something very comfy about the 20th century desire to just disregard nature like that idk
this doesn't exist, it's either a) a set for Terminator 2 or b) GTA 5 on the newest unreal engine
There was a shitty jackass stunt as well that took place in the LA river, it was more gross than dangerous.
this was the first day of shooting for the shows first season too, and it wiped knoxville out for the remainder of it
>ywn be an american
Time to post something from 'Drive'.
>Ryan Gosling will never invite me for a car ride through here
JDlMSA.
it hurts
limp bizkit recorded the video for gold cobra here. Cinemaphilekino and tv/kino overlap yet again.
