You can always up the amount of stress in your body. It’s like fat people. Sure, you can get super fat: it’s possible, but it doesn’t mean its good for you.

The only reason you say shit like ”duuh 40 hours a week is nothing” is because you haven’t had a taste of the good life. Imagine sleeping long, taking a slow morning, taking a walk, then doing some work (preferebly physical) before taking the time and care to prepear a good proper meal and still have time to read for a couple of hours before going to bed. Ever tried that life style?

The former is detestable because it is a squandering of the wealth and opportunity your parents worked to provide you with, and the latter is not detestable but pathetic, because you're either so dull and bland that you're happy to sit around in your underwear and jack off / play video games for your entire life, or alternatively you hate it and want to have a nice day.

I hate the workaholic mentality & pity workaholics at the same time. Although I respect people who work more than 40 hours because they have bills to pay or they're genuinely passionate about their jobs, I cannot understand people who say "YOU'RE ONLY A REAL MAN™ IF YOU WORK 100 HOURS A WEEK LIKE ME!" Other anons have told me they are escaping at home problems, but there are also people who say "I'd go crazy if I'm not working!" or "if I ain't workin', I'm doin' nothin'!"

What a miserable existence. I mean, I'm a NEET, currently, but I am not a bsement dweller who plays video games & watches anime. I am still busy with hobbies, personal commitments & adult responsibilities. I mean, I'm a "loser" according to society, but I know how to make myself happy. Why can't these people learn to love life?

Whats funny is after moving much higher up the totem pole the past few years from a Technical lab analyst to a method Dev chemist is that the higher you go the more you'll be left to your own devices and assumed you know what you're doing.

Entry level analyst? Clock in a 6min window, if you're outside it you have to document it and come up with a reason and submit and hope you don't get b***hrd at. Development Chemist? Meh, I think I'll come in 30mins later today, I got to bed late.

Entry level you almost always have a constant daily workload that will take you to close to the end of the day, if you slack off in the last few mins you have to be careful about so your Karen coworker doesn't see you and complain to your supervisor about you being lazy. As a senior person, there's essentially nobody with authority vertically over you to even be in contact with the supervisor you do have. So basically if you get what you need done and want to frick off and go for a walk for an hour, no problem.

Much happier at work now, don't mind 40hrs a week at all now.

I legit feel bad for people working truly thankless pointless paper jockey soulless jobs, or retail shit, all the "Bullshit jobs" where you know what you do is pointless and hate it but for whatever reason your company considers it better to keep you on doing whatever it is you do and pay you than terminate you and close our your role. It's like you know your work doesn't matter, and if you died tomorrow it wouldn't impact anything really, but if someone is going to give you a stable paycheck but you don't have better prospects why would you leave?

One of the main reasons I went into science is my dad switched from working in audio production to underwriting during a dry spell of work and simply hated going to work every day and was stressed out for hours after coming home, I never wanted to feel that way. So far have not ecept Ona few rare occasions.

      >40 hour work week
is a lot longer though and this coming from someone that used to work 100hrs+ a week physical labor. Take your average day, 6-8 hours you need to sleep to just have the energy to work 8hrs (more so if you're older), at the very least 1-2 hours driving back and forth from work, a few hours for everyday errands, some time to eat, poop and whatever, then back to sleep. An 8hr work shift is actually taking up about 16-18hrs of your daily 24. When I was working myself to the bone, I got maybe 3-4hrs of sleep a day and the rest was all work, I ate at work while I worked, zero free time. frick that shit. As you get older you realize that so much of your life has gone to work and you're too old and tired to enjoy anything. So you either find a really good paying job, learn how to live with a lot less so you can work a lot less or an hero, idk what to tell you Black person, those are your choices.

40 hours long week seems like no problem at all only to people who do the math like there are 120 hours in a week and 40 hours leaves you with 80 hours, you don't spend majority of those hours working! But are too naive to not take into account time it takes to commute, to sleep, to eat, to basically sustain yourself not only to merely exist but to also function efficiently. And then everyone else wants you to function efficiently, and you also need yourself to function efficiently, and at best you can be only two.

Maybe if you work from home, but commuting time adds up. If it takes you an hour to get to your office building in a big city you're basically working 50 hours a week but only being paid for 40.

Commuting and preparing for work basically adds 2-3 hrs a day. So that's almost 12 hrs of your day. That's if you only work 8 hrs a day

Because Germany has stomped them a bunch of times in wars. They're one of the most bullied countries in Europe. They constantly oscillate between being an independent country and not because someone invades them. Their national anthem is basically just a list of people who've conquered them.

Yes that's why it's increasingly difficult for small businesses to succeed in Europe. You can't compete with the established companies if your employees have almost an entire month off from the get go.

Not how burden of proof works, bozo. It's harder to set up a business in the US than in several Euro countries because of the USA's federated governance adding extra layers of bureaucracy.

you're not thinking with your brain. when you have mandatory vacation time, what do you do? you work during regardless, and "make yourself available" to do "unpaid" work during your mandated downtime. like, you keep taking calls from clients while on vacation and doing work for them anyway, or whatever you can get away with at your workplace. that's how you make yourself a top 1% performer and become the guy who gets all the best clients, gets all the most important gigs, gets promoted every time a promotion is available, etc.

everyone who isn't moronic does this in european countries. my country, just to mention one often complained about example, is that both sexes have mandated maternity/paternity leave. 1/3rd for the woman, 1/3rd for the man, and 1/3rd for whoever of them chooses. but it always ends up as 2/3rds for the woman, and then the man keeps working in sneaky ways while on leave anyway.
these government mandates to NOT WORK simply do not work. imagine thinking you can tell someone they can't work who wants to work and that they will listen to you. what are you gonna do, arrest them?

I tend to agree with this, but it also depends on where you work. I was once given a talking to by my boss for working on a weekend because "it promotes unrealistic expectations, burnout, and resentment from your coworkers" and was told to stop. I got a big promotion like two months later though.

The issue was people expected to do setup work off the clock. I don't know how the amount of money was calculated, and i know some of it goes to lawyers. But over the last 3 years, I've gotten about $2K that I otherwise wouldn't get, and I'll take it.

I love how perpetual serfs see that the state doesn't mandate something means it cannot happen. Pro-tip: to keep skilled workers around employers allow them to take time off when they want or need to do so. Just because at the federal level the state doesn't mandate it as policy does

      >Country opts for more leisure time instead of more GDP
      >>Heh stupid serfs

The serf aspect comes from the concept that you need the state or society as a whole to dictate such terms.

get another job lined up. You should have at least a 2 week out start date if it's a real job. That's when you take a 2 week road trip.

    >so youre supposed to take care of your family, house, car, mow your lawn, take care of your hygene, shop groceries, cook, eat, shit, wash dishes, clean, buy clothes, fix stuff that break
Ideally some of that responsibility is shared between you and family or your wife.
As far as traveling that's entirely up to you.

same thing as men but worse

real question is, who does what women used to do?
the whole social work field is basically people being paid to do what women used to do, and doing it worse than women did when they actually cared about it since it was for their families over which they had genuine authority, rather than for strangers over whom they have no real authority.

Once you have kids and a house you're not going to be spending as much time with your friends and relatives and when you do it's stuff like "help me do thing and we'll have dinner together afterwards" , like come help me fix my garage door or mend a fence where you also teach your kids basic skills like how to use a hammer and drill. This kind of stuff helps you do things quicker and you combine socialising with chores.

But yeah if you're stupid and never help anyone out and never ask for help you'll be swamped with shit and you'll never have time doing anything social.

Sometimes I feel so trapped I want to kill myself but I can't even do that because it would be abandoning my kids, so I just keep soldiering on. One day I will feel the sweet embrace of death and it will all be over.
    >Well why did you have so many kids, homosexual?
I live in a highly religious country and got memed by my religious family and my wife's religious family into marrying and pumping out kids at a young age. At kid 6 I said I was done and wanted a vasectomy but my parents chimped on me so then I had another kid and did it behind their backs. They all chimped on me still and said it was wrong and selfish, but at least it's over and done. I'll be working this job until I die. I have no joy in life, I cannot travel anywhere, I cannot buy anything for myself, I cannot take a break, I cannot play video games, I have back pain, it's completely over. people who work don't understand something. there simply aren't enough jobs for everyone in the world to be employed. that isn't how it works.

the global employment rate is estimated to be just over 50%. but if we factor in the fact that stat colllection from many of these countries is questionable at best, that figure could be significantly lower.

for every 1 Martin Scorsese there are 1000 guys who worked their whole life and ass off to make a small movie but it never happened. for every 20 lawyers hired, there are 2500 more who applied and didn't get interviewed. for employment to work, it simply needs to be a selective endeavour, where some simply don't fall into work.
