I hate to sound like a shill, but really, season 4 has been so much better than the last 3 seasons of Reddit and Meme.
You'd think removing Roiland would derail this show, but it's completely seamless. And Corvo's new voice might even be better suited than die-Rick-voice that Roiland did.
It's quite strange how Roiland has been completely stricken from the credits, surely they should at least credit him as creator of the show?

As someone disappointed in the wall last season, I'm happy with how it turned out.
Korvo had this kind of pathetic backhand to his dialogue with Justin Roiland, the new VA sounds more like a dick. Which actually works since a lot of this season is Korvo acting like a dick.
Overall enjoyed the new season.
Still working my way through it but I haven't dropped it or anything. They should have let the new VA finesse the opening dialogue a lot more. Brits are more charming when they sound slightly befuddled than when they're stuttery like Roiland's delivery of "the.. space" and "I'm the one holding the pupa, can you see me?" and he should have a little more time to deliver the per-episode rant.
Cool. You’re still condoning cancel culture and theft of intellectual property.
Was he even co-creator to begin with or was he just a voice-actor?
The title of co-creator is pretty loose, it's given to bigger stars, so the show can get greenlit.
For example, while Seth MacFarlane is credited as co-creator of American Dad, he probably had nothing to do with creation, and just provided the voiced. But the only reason the show was picked up was because big name Seth MacFarlane involved.
I don't think the female teacher was even in this season. I know the principal had a couple scenes none about him had any sexual jokes
maybe she stood to Roiland and resigned in protest?
You got anything to back up the American Dad claims apart from “probably”?
grass tastes bad
It was ok. 5/10.
I liked it very much, though it seems The Wall plot has been wrapped up nicely
Haven't watched the later season but I felt like the end of Season 3 was where they should have ended the show.
That said, how do they upend that? Are we back to sci-fi nonsense? Is it just more of the same?
>That said, how do they upend that?
They can do a little sci-fi, as a treat.
>Are we back to sci-fi nonsense?
Yes
>Is it just more of the same?
Yes
>They can do a little sci-fi, as a treat
Then I don't see the point. Could be this is the best season ever...But there isn't a story anymore. S3 answered EVERYTHING.
I heard the new voice and immediately turned it off, the fact that they went THAT hard with the recasting is ridiculous.
No big loss, always hated the Wall B-plot anyway.
Well it was an executive decision you can't blame the people actually working in the show, they did the best they could
it's kino and i wish it was on a normal streaming service
I feel like releasing all episode at once, kills the conversation.
It would be more beneficial if they released one episode per week like R&M.
I think the show is obnoxious. It's mostly just a Family Guy cutaway gag (the banana splits having a farting contest) but just taken to a completely extreme direction. It's unadulterated
gen x crud.
For me with opposites it goes
3>1>4>2
I just really liked the aliens last season and season 1 wall was great i agree solar is better than last few seasons of rick and morty. I think this really shows when you compare Strange Planets Dan Harmons new Aye lmao show vs Solar Opposites vs Rick and Morty and you'll see why Rick and Morty declined they both wanted to go in completely different directions
>season 1 wall was great
that might be only only good in season 1, in season 1 they didn't know if they want it to be like Rick and Morty, but season 2 got everything under control
I like the Solar Opposities a lot more than Rick and Mortimer. Like the first two seasons were sci-fi and fun. I think the humor is better when it isn't being nilistic.
I’d love it if there was a series that was similar to the Wall stuff
There's probably a dozen exactly like that just from the 2000s.
i liked the new season ,made me laugh
>i liked the new season
i didnt
They couldn't have found a better voice actor for Corvo, though?
I liked it. Really felt he understood the character.
Who else had you in mind?
It isn't grooming when women do it.
No, but not many cartoons pass it.
>It's quite strange how Roiland has been completely stricken from the credits, surely they should at least credit him as creator of the show?
This part is crazy, I bet/hope they had to pay him a fortune, unless there was some sort of morality clause in his contract.
I like it, it was funnier when squidbillies dsid it though.
How is Tiffany Haddish still getting work, wasn't she caught grooming kids with her BF or something?
I gave up last season when the wall had a bullshit lead poisoning reveal.
Black person why did you get attached to that character?
Isn't about attachments just lead poisoning being a bullshit way to kill him off.
To me it just felt like they wanted to get rid of him without having to make some other character do it.
>much better than the last 3 seasons of Reddit and Meme.
Is that meant to be a high bar to pass
Stop shilling this garbage. If I didn’t know better I’d say the only people pushing this here are its writers and animators.
I like the show amd I wamt to talk about it.
You don't see me telling you to stop sucking dick on 4th Street.
Didn't even know their was a new season
whose was a new season?
Hulu's marketing budget is 0 USD.
I literally only noticed it due snahp.it
It's basically redundant, I think it's gonna get absorbed into Disney+
They will run it to the ground.
Hulu has been very experimental, but careful about their investments.
Disney+ is really fricking stupid
>have a huge Disney library, they don't even put a fraction of it there
>spend millions on poorly planned Marvel/Star Wars shit
If they buy remaining 33% they will likely cancel all Hulu shows
Fun fact Hulu is American only, if you have a vpn switch Disney plus to Canada and watch Hulu without hulu.
There were ads if you watched other Hulu things without adblock, except the ads didn't say "NEW SEASON", it just said "Solar Opposites is a show on Hulu".
>It's quite strange how Roiland has been completely stricken from the credits
No, I did see his name pop up in at least one spot. Which makes the fact that they removed his name from the white screen "Solar Opposites" title even stranger.
I did eventually get used to Korvo's voice. He doesn't scream very satisfyingly though.
Once a corporation makes a decision like that they dont back down unless forced to. In the case of the spot you mention, I wager they had a legal obligation to have his name there, otherwise they wouldve scrapped it.
They are also forced to pay him royalties.
WHY did my pp react to this scene
because its hot
stop shilling gay
Human Jesse is cute. CUTE!
Yeah she was.
Also yeah blasting your social on the Internet was definitely going to come back at her.
Human Jesse is funny
I don't think the hair matches her very well. The human designs kind of pissed me off in a very small way even though I know it's really not that big of a deal.
Why is Jesse's hair blonde when Terry's is brown? Why is Yumyulack's hair brown and Korvo's blond? Shouldn't the respective pairs look like clones at different ages?
Also, Blond Korvo is ridiculous. I know they were making a joke with him looking stupid and conventionally sexy or whatever but no, I'd always imagined him with dark brown, maybe black hair. Or salt and pepper hair. Mmm.
I'm just saying I could have made the designs better.
I'm just glad they didn't Black personfy the human designs making them all different shades of brown
>Human Yummy is literally just his VA
I lol’d
Human Jesse and Human Yumyulack should have fricked
She was cute
Straight up talk about how dhe pissed herself. It's funny how you can spit a Rick and Morty writer from their fetish.
I don't mind a nasty woman
I don't like these characters or stories from these semi serious episodes. They are extremely predictable and basic and always end with a murderous surprise betrayal.
I liked all the holochests it was funer then I thought this silver surfer bullshit was going to be last season
I'm personally annoyed that it ate up an entire episode though. I'd be ok with it being a B-plot to something else.
Based
>I'm personally annoyed that it ate up an entire episode though
Last season I was convinced it was going to be like 1/3 of the whole next season so I was glad I only got one episode that was genuinely enjoyable.
Like last season had me scared it was going to go full tilt wall moronation and silver surfer shit with the family being nothing but c plots but I feel like we got a ton of the opposites next to last year.
Considering the show was always shit and I just watched it out of morbid curiosity can you tell me how it's better
I admit season 1, was rough.
Character dynamics are just better.
thats the most vague fricking statement I've heard in a long while
Season 4 was pretty funny, the show did get better with time and the wall and green lantern subplots are just afterthoughts
They got me with everyone smoking in the first episode, I thought there was a punchline but nope, everyone smokes for no reason
Silver Cops feels like someone had idea for unrelated cartoon that didn't get picked up, but they were friends with Roiland, who decided to include it.
More focus on corvo
Corvo is a bigger dick than ever
Less focus on terry shenanigans
They toned down yomulack which is great since I hated him before
Two Jesse episodes, one was great and her white thing was actually disturbing like you can feel there is something fricked up about it the entire time, the other one wasn't but the Hanna Barbera dinosaur was fun at least even tho it's a reused concept, it also had a funny intro
I don't like how the puppas entire character is going on adventures now, feels overplayed
Less human characters is great, we really don't need them
The wall doesn't take up more space than it needs
Green lantern gets an entire ark in one single episode which works because it can't really support more than one episode per season by itself it's not that strong
They don't overplay the fish out of water stuff anymore, it gets tired and boring it's a show about wacky characters that doesn't need much of a set up to work
I don't think the ai needed its own episode but having the solar opposites go through an entire b plot we only hear about in phone calls was fun and it worked
Overall an improvement over every single aspect of the show
If they kept this up with some minor tweaking I could watch three more seasons, I think they finally found their formula 12 episodes per season with an unrelated elsewhere story in the middle as a breather, no seasong long plot, strong first and last episodes, some focus on the pupa but not much, korvo is the main character but the other ones should get one episode each too
>I don't think the ai needed its own episode
definitely the weakest episode of this season
>You'd think removing Roiland would derail this show, but it's completely seamless.
I wouldn't say seamless. The opening is incredibly jarring with Dan Stevens dub over Roiland. I'd say the first few episodes felt a little off, as I'm assuming it was a dubbing situation. But by episode 3 it started to really work.
Overall thoughts on the season? I'm conflicted. I enjoyed the writing, and I actually do enjoy Korvo having a new voice opposed to being basically Rick-lite. On the flipside, I don't like that Roiland was done kind of dirty in this situation. I recognize that Hollywood contracts are likely messy, but it all felt like bullshit. Does anyone know what Justin is up to now?
>You'd think removing Roiland would derail this show, but it's completely seamless.
Ehhhh...no. There's definitely something missing from his absence even if the writing is largely the same the synergy feels weaker. Probably because the new voice is just a lazy British accent that it feels even more jarring in execution. Roiland was definitely not a verstile voice actor but without his improvey bits a lot of the series humor is nothing but bland refernces and product placement. Despite that I thought the Ailen bits were the strongest of the season mainly due to how boring and dragged out The Wall segments has become now.
do you think its possible for the roiland cut to ever leak and to be re inserted
Considering Eleven Labs voice-cloning, I'd be surprised if someone doesn't put together re-edit of the season where AI clone redubs Corvo's lines.
The amount of depicting husbanderly actions was perfect. Not enough to completely ruin the dynamic or forbid them from bickering and fighting a lot, but enough to feel like ah yeah, they actually do love each other. Feels nice.
LGBT shit doesn't bother me in this show, unlike in Harley Quinn show
Essentially they already had a husband dynamic before.
At first they were two aliens (and replicants) on a job. Korvo acting like the boss, and Terry the aloof employee. The kind who tries to sneak away. Much like the whole theme of the last episode their relationship had gone more human into a marital status.
the gayliens don't bother me at all
kinda like Wallice from Scott Pilgrim
meh
sure
Convince me to watch it.
you can watch whatever you want to watch anon.
