The show is just badly directed in general. There are many inconsistencies.
It's the most strangely emotionless thing I've ever watched. Even basic sitcoms have more dynamic range.

they're always fricking with the way they define the stats, so yeah, expect a precipitous drop in S2, BUT they're also betting hard on the baited focus on Las Vegas being a drawcard for that first ep curiosity watch metric again. as that's the installment most people have played.

Watch the scene again, The Ghoul specifically says "I wonder if they fixed that in this new model" when referring to the design flaw of the old one, implying the BoS are wearing the new model armor.

I finished season 1 tonight and it was surprisingly good.
It has inconsistencies and moronic writing decisions like any other millennial-slop, but that doesn't mean it was completely horrible. Watched it with my boomer dad who is enjoying it. Always felt like he would love the Fallout world and lore so it's cool that it's getting packaged in a format he can enjoy, and we get to experience together.
Can't lie, pretty excited to see Caesar's Legion in season 2. I'm ready to see someone get crucified.
