A movie made literally because of nostalgia is a higher pillar to stand on than one that exists because of a show commercial (as much as that might mean) but they blew it and they blew it hard. Forcing every WB property to be represented in it, the shitty CGI animations, Porky rapping, the plot somehow being more moronic than the first, and having all the same problems of the first...I'm both glad it LeFlopped and I'm mad that it's abysmal performance might have resulted in Coyote vs Acme getting axed.
The devs saying that "anything could happen" was the worst move they could've done, now the MVS fanbase has become a hivemind of autistic rosterhomosexualry.
Some of the picks I've seen are genuinely moronic and it seems like these people are setting themselves up for disappointment. And if they were realistic and asking for their characters to be assists or something, that would be one thing but it's always the full shebang. So if PFG does put their characters in as assists, they're likely going to throw a little fit.

But the majority of rostergays are almost ALWAYS just picking Cartoon Network characters; it makes sense because the MVS playerbase is mostly populated by 20/30 yr old Smashgays who grew up with CN or kids who ware watching them now. Plus it's more cohesive seeing characters from one medium that can kinda gel together (See: NASB 1 & 2) vs seeing a bunch of random properties from across media that don't really mix.

It'd of been a really dumb move. Smash is has proven roaster shit can sell and WB is one of the few companies out there with a big enough IP to make people turn their heads.
If cohesiveness is a real big issue. What they could do is just approach new characters in a more organized manner. IE add 1 char every month or two. And follow a set pattern. (Example Jan is CN char, Feb HB, Mar WB Live action, April DC, May WTF, repeat).
Even at 6 chars a year, that would have them beating the output of most Fighting games and their DLC while being very reasonable. A char every two weeks is just nuts imo.

In many ways it seems like devs don't understand the underlying philosophy behind Smash's items. They can be broken down into 4 categories.

Items like food that give you health, or make your character faster, or make your character heavier
>2. Assists
Puts another entity in screen that has its own little moveset if even that
>3. A single move from another character
This is a big one. An item that effectively lets you use the move of one of the characters in the game. Fire flower - Bowser's fire breath. Laser pistol - Fox's own laser pistol. Super Scope - Samus' arm canon. And so on.
4. Completely unique move
Lets your character attack in a way that isn't part of any other character's kit
you will get your healing items and weak no damage thrown items and you will like it! If your really good we will give you a melee item

Apparently the reveal trailer with Taz and Iron Giant took 9 months to make, so if that's the precedent they set than we won't have that much kino.
If they do make another cinematic trailer it better be for a character that's really big. That way it seems more like an event. Or they could take the same route they did last time and reveal a bunch of new characters all at once.
The thing not appreciated when it comes to some of the Smash trailers is they're many months apart. Meanwhile when it comes to new characters being added to Multiversus, ideally they'd slow down from previously and do it at a rate of like one a month but that would still be a much shorter time span than what Smash had.

The songs are from the source material (at least some of them) but filtered through an orchestra. That and what song plays changes depending on if it's match point or if everyone is just standing around.
The Steven Universe stage uses a mix of the main theme and as a SU un enjoyer I have to say it is gorgeous. I think the Rick and Morty stage does something similar but it’s not as good.

Black Adam in this game aged like milk. Warner was sure the movie would be a hit, now everyone forgot about that movie and there is just a random Captain Marvel villain in the game for no reason.
Even though the devs tried hiding that a bit by making the character based off the comics, it's still really really obvious. He got in before Joker, even though Batman and Harley Quinn are in the game. Before anyone else from the Justice League, or Teen Titans, or the multitudes of other far more people DC heroes and villains.
Hell, before Captain Marvel.
Maybe the biggest threat to the game is Warner Bros treating it like a springboard for advertising, not realizing that people aren't going to flock to movie or TV show just because the character appears in the game.
Honestly I feel like that was due to the Discovery merger. Shit, most of the game's problems arose because of that.
Which doesn't bode well for the game's future.
Hopefully they got it all ironed out in the past year.

Somewhat, but it was still awful. They changed it again (only for Finn) but I don't know if it improved anything.
i remember they kept nerffing my homie iron giant while letting bug bunny wreck havoc with his silly movement.
I remember they one randomly nerfed Tom & Jerry and made them bottom tier. Why? What did Tom & Jerry do? Go nerf Velma! She's the one slaughtering everyone in 2v2s!
Their hesitancy to nerf Finn was so weird. Like they demolished Taz's ability to spam a spin move but did nothing to Finn's far superior spin move throughout the game's history.
They wanted players to use his shop gimmick so instead of giving him a good nerf they gave him little ones while trying to nudge players towards the gimmick. Needless to say, it didn't work
The problem is that the people who spam his backpack move aren't the people who utilize his shop mechanic, so doing anything but nerfing that move ironically is only going to hurt Finn mains who aren't braindead shitters and do know about their character.

Regardless of whether or not it's Hermonie specifically, a Harry Potter rep is inevitable. Hogwarts Legacy was like the best selling game last year. It would be beyond Warner Bros' usual moronation not to try and capitalize off of that.
