This is sort of true, but Multiverse of Madness made its money based on a huge opening weekend/advance (thanks to hype from Spider-Man: No Way Home and WandaVision) and had a huge dropoff after people actually saw the movie.
Granted the only big Multiverse-themed movie after that was Quantumania, so one movie doesn't prove that people are sick of the multiverse.
Captain Carter in the cartoon and Captain Carter in Multiverse of madness are two seperate Captain Carters so a third exact copy from another universe will be used. People forget that this mulitverse crap doesnt just mean they can milk different versions but also multiple instances of one version too. It will never end.
