Scary movie wasn't that funny to me. You had to sit through a lot of shit to get to a couple of actually funny scenes.
This one is going to fail miserably. Scary Movie was almost funny somtimes because it made references to movies everyone had seen. But not there are so many movies out there most people haven't even seen them and edgy jokes are banned now so you can't make racist and sexist jokes. So what are they even going to do?

Yeah but those were written by the guys who originally wrote Scary Movie, you can read that version online and the comedy is exactly what you would expect if you've seen any of those movies, this guy nailed it

The first few Scary Movies are actually pretty damn funny, especially if you’ve watched Scream ‘96 recently. I remember Date Movie, Epic Movie, and The Hunger Games parody etc. all being as bad as almost everyone said they were going to be.
I will say that Movie 43, a movie similar to the “____ Movie” flicks, received the same abysmal reception but it wasn’t as bad imo. At least that one had a stacked cast.
Meet The Spartans was alright thoughever. Not as good as the Scary Movies/Wayan Brothers output, but it at least follows the plot of the main film it's parodying.
The spartan handshake and stomp the yard parody were the only jokes that stuck as good in my memory.
