Because current Marvel editorial and writers have no sense of overall continuity. They only focus on what has happened in the last 5 years or so. Everything else is in some state of fluctuating canonicity. They also can't portray any protected minority group as an outright villain in their narrative, even if that person is still going about committing heinous war crimes and murders like almost all of the current X-men.
Frenzy straight up murdered X-Men nurse Sharon Friedlander, but Frenzy is treated as a fellow X-Man.

this exactly. except honestly I'm fine with prissy bawds so long as it's not the only character trait they have. pretty much all of Marvel's well known bisexual characters fall under the "promiscuous bisexual" stereotype *and* are criminals of some kind to boot(Daken, Black Cat, Deadpool, Loki, and of course Mystique and Destiny). probably because it was easier to get away with the morally grey characters being LGBT because making a prominent hero queer would be too risky but making a villain queer would be seen as bigoted. and here's the thing- I fricking love all of them, and would take a morally grey loose bisexual character over an uwu cinnamon roll goody-two-shoes bisexual character any day.
Yeah, as long as "being gay" isn't the sole personality trait they have like what they did to Iceman, it's a step up. Admittedly, a pet peeve of mine is how Marvel tends to lump in all the heroes and villains into their Pride stories, cause it feels like they're trying to convey the idea that being ghey is more important than whatever they actually act like. Deadpool, Black Cat, and Loki are totally cool with me cause they're not irredeemably villainous, but forgive me for rolling my eyes at their attempts to paint Daken as an innocent bad boi whose rape victims all secretly wanted him to rape them via sex hormones.

honestly, DC outdoes Marvel on the LGBT representation front for the most part. I can't stand Harlivy because I think it's just a dumb pairing, but the fact that they're incredibly recognizable characters AND well known as a couple is pretty great. and there's so much merch and so many promotional images of Harley and Ivy kissing or going on dates or just being affectionate. and while they've definitely had their villainy toned down somewhat in recent years(especially Ivy), they're still treated as villains and not anti-heroes. I think Mystique and Destiny are the superior couple in terms of having far better chemistry, but I wish Marvel would allow them to be evil AND in gay love at the same time like DC does with Harlivy, y'know??
