i still think about the newgrounds collab from a few years back.
>6 minutes of content
jeez and they advertised their game by this
These and some of the music are literally all Sonic as an IP has going for it. Comics too. Pretty much everything Sonic except for the actual games kek
>and some of the music
About 10 songs less than usual with Origins.
Eh, not to the same level of quality as Sonic Mania Adventures. If Heese had anything to do with these his influence really doesn't feel as strong.
How so? Are you not just conflating comedy with Hesse and thus finding it weird when it's a set of action scene shots?
1:03
>weird desert and cityscapes. were those ever in the games?
3:04
>obscure reference to amy liking tarot cards
4:14
>tails getting bullied by some new characters never seen before
5:24
>evil tails given dozens of tails. either a reference to the sa1 bug or ghost stories.
It’s a reference to Kitsune, a Japanese magical fox that grows 9 tails by adulthood which Tails was based on
Like how King Ghidorah is based on Yamato No Orochi and is supposed to have 9 heads but only has 3 at present.
Yes, just like other thing referencing other thing but not as accurately as thing we were talking about.
desert and cityscapes. were those ever in the games?
Off the top of my head, Spring Yard, Star Light, Stardust Speedway, are all kind of in cities.
>obscure
>brought up all the time and everyone knows by now
>all that focus on Amy
>depicted as being part of the team
>not playable
Frick you, Sega.
Yeah, I thought that was kinda funny too. It's probably just to hype the game, but it's funny to imagine that the animators thought she was gonna be in.
They didn't really change the games any, you can't just plonk Amy as you'd think she'd play, like in Sonic Advance, and expect it to work with no problem. Learned that the hard way through Romhacks.
But couldn't have they make her just a Sonic clone is that was the case?
And I mean, exactly same function, just different sprite.
Sure, it might not be the ideal, but it's something.
>But couldn't have they make her just a Sonic clone is that was the case?
>And I mean, exactly same function, just different sprite.
No one wants this if you actually liked classic Sonic.
All characters are Sonic x gimmick. Not just Sonic reskin
>All characters are Sonic x gimmick. Not just Sonic reskin
That's precisely why I said just a Sonic reskin for Amy. And it's not like I would prefer that either, but remember the last sentence?
>Sure, it might not be the ideal, but it's something.
So the question is, you want Amy to be playable no matter what? Or only if she has her own gimmick?
>So the question is, you want Amy to be playable no matter what?
No
>Or only if she has her own gimmick?
Yes.
It's how classic Sonic works. If you want a mod reskin, make a mod reskin
>You want Amy to be playable no matter what? No
>Or only if she has her own gimmick? Yes
That's all I needed to know.
Personally, I think she being released as a playable character would be nice.
And in case she was released just as a reskin, I would still consider the release nice, but that wouldn't stop me from calling the developers "lazy fricks" at the same time.
Someone will eventually make a sonic classic game where Amy's playable after all this wiener teasing
People have already made romhacks that make Amy playable in Sonic 1, 2 and 3. She doesn't play like Sonic, she plays like she does in Sonic Advance.
DLC
With it's own spreadsheet and preorder only features.
Shes in the year 2 season pass.
Part of the battle pass.
Honestly that last cutscene feels like it’s setting up more classic style games depending on the success of origins.
She was with her hammer so there's probably more.
I'm sure there's a way to make Amy playable without her playing like Advanced/Adventure. Hell I'd ever take that now just for the novelty. The Sonic 2 Amy and Cream ROM hack does a great job of implimenting her and even Big who's way more awkward but a fun novelty
Feels like Sega still has cold feet about any new experimentation with other characters since everyone shat on Warehog and Sonic's annoying frinends
I like how the make it explicitly canon that Sonic missed the last emerald in the first game.
Finally some good covers of the 16-bit songs.
The characterization is still kiddie as crap and not what I'd do with a Sonic cartoon, but the action and happy atmosphere is on point.
Soulless. I know animation is a process but this is so rough around the edges and it doesn't really make me feel anything. very safe and boring.
Meh.
I don't understand the blue-shoes Tails thing
Conceptual designs had Tails wear blue shoes before it was switched over to red.
Bullshit. "Conceptual designs" was one drawing misprinted in a magazine. Stop falling for fandom "lore".
Oh nice source dude.
I'll be sure to back up my information by trusting strangers on an anonymous board.
Ok, if you want to be like that- where's your source? Show me the evidence that there's concept art of Tails with blue shoes, despite that making no sense with the game's use of palettes.
Meant for
>despite that making no sense with the game's use of palettes.
That's WHY it was changed from the concept. Did you forget what the word "concept" means?
Beep Magazine, 1994, page 104 (106 in the PDF file), in an article that isn't posting concept art, as part of an image that also miscolors Sonic (look at his arm).
It's a misprint, it was never concept art.
https://retrocdn.net/images/c/cc/BeepMD_JP_1994-06.pdf
Some fans liked how it looks and started drawing it, others thought it was concept art and speculated why it would've changed, no one did proper looking into where it comes from, and that's how you end up with people like you insisting on nonsense.
There has never been a blue shoes tails art shown before that, never one after that, never a mention of his shoes changing color (and we've had mention of how Sonic changed color, of how Tails changed species, and multiple Tails concept art and pose concept sheets released this decade).
It's a misprint. Simple as. Sorry you got duped.
Much better. Thank you for the source.
Now that I see it, I kinda like it as a concept. Though it'd look better if Tails had his reddish brown fur of his earlier appearance to contrast with sonic.
In a modern day where you don't have to worry about shared palettes, it's not bad, though if we had to change Tails' red highlights I'd rather green, I think it works better with the yellow.
Stages use a separate palette line. Tails uses the same one as Sonic. Stages using a separate line is why the Ashura glitch was a thing- it was you, through messing with debug, forcing the Sonic sprite to use the level palette rather than the player sprite palette.
must have been shoddy romhacking that made the Amy-in-Sonic 2 water turn pink then.
Possibly. As far as I know even if you hack to have Super Sonic in Emerald Hill, the stages don't just start glowing yellow (unlike, say Sonic 3d Blast, where that DOES happen in old romhacks that implement Super Sonic, which is why the recent director's cut version gives Sonic a new palette line separate from stages)
that's actually barf inducing please stop
No it's cute (you just need the right balance of the colors)
enough
Not really, those colors are a bit vomit-like.
>Ashura glitch was a thing- it was you, through messing with debug, forcing the Sonic sprite to use the level palette rather than the player sprite palette.
You’re tellin’ me there’s at least 10 other palettes for ashura?
Even just within Emerald Hill he changes colours very easily from the iconic "green with black blotch in the forehead"
I don't get what the problem with the pallette would have been, it would have been the same blue as Sonic's blue.
Meaning once he went Super, so would've Tails' shoes
Dunno about that, the stage blues don't change when Sonic goes Super.
>the stage blues don't change when Sonic goes Super.
Didn't play the game then, moron. Flickies and blue balloons in Carnival Night go golden when you turn super.
Plus, it's a fricking meme to like blue shoe tails. The point of blue is to be cool, Tails is a b***h, not a chad. He's support to be baby cute for little brothers to self insert into, a girls to want plushies of.
Though I don't understand why that OC image was posted.
>Sonic actually flying the Tornado
It's been years.
I've forgotten Sonic even knows how to fly a plane.
>literally has a part where Tails gets trolled
KINO
I thought the exact same fricking thing. I think it's the rock wall next to them that does it for me.
Wasn't that always his backstory, anyway? At least in some versions.
Yeah it was, we've just never actually seen it depicted before.
What's the deep lore behind these guys?
Can't wait to see "the 2 fox npcs from the sonic origins cutscene" referenced in a comic years from now.
Two fox bullies teaming up with Rough and Tumble soon enough.
There's probably Sonic Mania mods of them being made as we speak.
I can already see how they would rape tails on rule34. Mmm, yes
I like how they vaguely look like AoStH tails.
They have the exact same fur as that Tails.
These bullies are kinda cute tho
Wait, so... foxes can have either separate eyes or one of those single double-irises eyes?
Or maybe it is part of Tails' weird mutation that makes him have two separate eyes? If so, truly a freak of (Sonic's World) nature
Oh shit I didn't realize that, nice catch anon.
Before this the only characters to have the single cyclops eye are the hedgehogs, Charmy and Vector. Every other character has normal eyes
Funny how the Chaotix and Ray are some of the oldest characters in Sonic lore. You'd think they would've done something with the cool parrot dude at some point.
Sonic's mother and sister are constatnly super
>S3K mod replacing Sonic & Tails with these two and the hidden palace Knuckles with Tails
I love how this looks like an animation cell. Great work!
Anon?
Haha, what if you pulled Tails by both of his tails at the same time and he flew backwards onto your crotch? Boy, wouldn't that be embarrassing for him.
For me it's grabbing both tails, jabbing my high heel down his butthole, and pulling upward on his tails while pressing down with my foot.
>mrdaco and his friend mrdaco posting Tails on twitter
the sounds he makes in this scene make me want to bash his head in with a brick so he shuts the frick up but also frick him in the ass, anyone else feel like that or is it just me
women like you shouldn't be allowed near little boys.
I want to protect Tails.
Honey and Tails are usually seen together when she shows up in classic Sonic art. She drags this poor child around.
Because during the end of Archie Sonic there was a loose adaptation of Sonic the Fighters. And Honey the Cat is like a psycho version of Amy Rose and she basically enslaves Tails.
Now I see why Tails wants to hit her...
>Tails dying from the ride
>his constellation from the bad end of Sonic Chaos is in the sky
fricking lmao
I want Tails and Honey to be a more popular ship... they are cute.
have a nice day, Pedo
That's not protection, that's dominance. It's mob style protection if anything.
I like these guys, though it is kind of weird how Sonic just zooms past and rescues Tails and that's it, that's how they meet. I know the cutscenes were going for light fast and breezie but I do wonder what it would be like if there was some dialogue in them.
It's a classic game you moron, they don't even talk in Sonic 2.
>AoSTH and SatAM Tails has the same fur color as the bullies
>What if the real reason those two foxes bully Tails is because of his fur color, rather than his tails?
>2 dark colored characters jumping a light colored character, completely unprovoked
No, it couldn't be...
Melanin-high foxes are SCOIENCE, not racism.
>SCOIENCE
*purely economic factors
Generations made it so all the games happen in order for modern, but for Sonic the timeline splits just before SA1 and continues into Mania instead. Supposedly.
They are trolling him!!
Now I get why Tails doesn't have a uni eye like most characters, it makes him look like a racoon
Arent they a reference to Tails get Trolled?
no, the trolls in tgt are humans
Those were drawn based on the short, not the other way around
>3 tails
>2 buttholes
can someone give me the rundown of what happens in "tails gets trolled"? I don't feel like viewing p 0 rn but I just want to be in the loop.
It's not porn, you're an idiot, and I'm not spoonfeeding you when you can just search it yourself.
It's a comic that starts off as a shitpost but turns out to be an unironically dark and deep dive into psychology and the various evils that people play on each other. And shonen battles. Lots of shonen battles. And legitimately the most evil Eggman. And Coyote being a smug and sexy bastard. And it all starts with Tails getting made fun of.
http://www.tailsgetstrolled.org/
>He wasn't there for the most recent storytime
Anon, you fricked up
Tails get bullied by some Internet Trolls IRL, things get out of hand.
It was always his backstory, guys.
Sonic X.
Yeah, but this time we actually get see it.
You do see him getting bullied in X by a monkey, some kind of bear, and a fox that I'm pretty sure was being referenced in this, judging by the color anyway.
saved
kinda wish they also showed the village ?
Well those were just lovely. Any more exclusively made content for Origins besides these game start/end cutscenes?
Why can't we have a series in this style?
Because Sega doesn't think the kids want looney tunes style woodland adventures with Sonic and his 3 friends rescuing critters from Robotnik, they think kids want extreme quippy too cool for school Sonic and millions of one-off recolor friends.
Cancer: The Post.
I think you could do a blend. SatAM/Archie did okay with large casts of characters. I think the trick is having the right blend of lighthearted cartoony and fast action. Tails, Knuckles, and Amy don't feel out of place here because they're internally consistent with the style.
I think one of the things that's prevented Classic Sonic from becoming the de facto look for the brand is that it excludes a number of popular characters. Characters like Shadow and Rouge who are popular among fans wouldn't work in the classic era. At the end of the day I think Sega or whoever would be in charge of developing an animated Sonic series like this wouldn't want to leave all those characters and canon on the table.
The fact that Sonic Prime is already teasing Shadow makes it pretty clear that Sega just has no intention of dropping those characters for the sake of Classic era stuff. They're simply too popular. Which isn't an inherently bad thing on its own since they could always bring the Classic characters over into the Modern continuity if they were smart, but they've mandated against it so we will never see a proper Classic series at any point.
You could simplify them a little bit while still retaining the characteristics, I think.
Espio and Shadow look fine. Silver is just too much though.
I mean, it's not official art. Could go simpler.
Have they ever gone into why Eggman is the only human in Classic? Couldn't there just be a tribe of humans somewhere, similar to echidnas?
>Have they ever gone into why Eggman is the only human in Classic?
That's part of the appeal of Classic Sonic. They don't explain shit, they don't HAVE to explain shit, just take everything at face value and it works.
>Have they ever gone into why Eggman is the only human in Classic?
The only thing I can think of was that in one of Tails Vlogs from earlier this year, they mentioned that the Sonic World contains societies of both humans and other anthropomorphic animals, so maybe the explanation is that Eggman trespassed on the animal islands to industrialize and was the first human that Sonic and friends met.
I'm pretty sure there are humans in Classic Sonic, unless the background cities are supposed to be populated by the furries.
>Have they ever gone into why Eggman is the only human in Classic?
He isn't?
Those human look animaniacs/TinyToons as frick
That's because the short was animated by TMS Entertainment, who made this in the same era that they were working on Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs.
The issue isn't just Shadow's design being based in modern/dreamcast era aesthetics. The issue is how you would explain his origin in the context of the classic era where Robotnik is the only human. Shadow's character and origin is anchored down to humanity, something that isn't really present in the classic era.
I only buy Eggman being the only human shown on screen, not the only one in general. I mean, why else would there be a huge industrialized city and casino? For the enslaved robot animal slaves?
>why else would there be a huge industrialized city and casino?
You can argue that some of the industrialized areas were developed by Eggman and his machines. Places like Chemical Plant Zone, Oil Ocean, Launch Base are over-industrialized polluted hellsscapes. That modern looking city at the end of the new animations does look like a normally inhabited area, though the new animations showed that there are normal human like animals who live on the islands like the ones who were bullying Tails, so maybe it's animals like them who live in and use the urban amusement park themed zones.
>The issue is how you would explain his origin in the context of the classic era where Robotnik is the only human.
>Have they ever gone into why Eggman is the only human in Classic?
>I only buy Eggman being the only human shown on screen,
It's this. He's the only human on screen in the games but there are other humans in supplementary materials from the classic era.
Sega of Japan and TMS made this back in 1994
You could also conceivably argue that humans exist in 1991's Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car
seeing as how there are other cars on the road and human scale buildings in a regular Station Square styled city.
>we never got man of the year part 2
every time
>The issue is how you would explain his origin in the context of the classic era where Robotnik is the only human.
After trying to give Sonic a match to face with Metal Sonic, & then doing the same by tricking Knuckles, Eggman gets the idea to combine the approaches & try his hand in bio-chemisty.
The result is Shadow, an artificial super hedgehog made to be the Ultimate Weapon against Sonic.
There wasn't that hard.
So you rather just retcon SA2 just to have a shitier reason for Shadow to be a thing?
Eggman made Metal Sonic for a reason, he's about ROBOTICS, not living creatures.
>So you rather just retcon SA2 just to have a shitier reason for Shadow to be a thing?
Personally, yes.
Logically, I can't retcon SA2 because SA2 never happened in Classic Sonic. you gotta give Shadow a new origin.
Objectively, part of the appeal of Classic is the IMPLIED Backstory that happens in the backdrop and doesn't interrupt the gameplay.
Shadow can;t have Le Epic Backstory to be in Classic, so he has to be reduced to his base archtype - the evil twin.
>he's about ROBOTICS, not living creatures.
If you think of a better way to integrate edgy hedgy outside of making him an Eggman goon, I'm all ears
>If you think of a better way to integrate edgy hedgy outside of making him an Eggman goon, I'm all ears
Shadow was built by a mysterious organization. The project was to build the ultimate lifeform based on echidna murals studied however the project was abandoned. The project resumed when said organization discovered Sonic and his Super state. The project, now looking like a dark version of Super Sonic, escapes. Over the years, the characters catch sight of Shadow, but they don't know what his agenda is.
>Logically, I can't retcon SA2 because SA2 never happened in Classic Sonic.
They are all part of the same continuity. Sonic adventure 1 and 2 take place AFTER classic sonic.
Why can't he just be another Sonic hedgehog of the same species, Sonic being the only one of his kind never really made any sense at all since Amy proves at least a female Sonic can exist.
Shadow just being a try hard Sonic isn't even bizarre since you just need a reason for him to grow up somewhere in Sonic's world being a loner, but had to struggle to survive, only to find out his "gift" like Sonic's raw speed but with chaos powers and that's all you need. Trying him to Eggman is a crutch since the only reason for this connect in the first place is SA2's grandad scenario
Having Shadow be born completely separate to Sonic is the logical path to take because that's been the entire problem with Shadow from the very start, being made 50 years before Sonic was even fricking born, """murals""" be damned. Having him just be born with powers justifes him next to Sonic's speed, Tails's flight, Knuckles' and Mighty's strength, and Amy's "magic".
Just let him be a character from some urban zone with a robot and a bat tagging along. They are a more dubious bunch and not necessarily taking sides. Also his markings closely resemble those of a tenrec so just make him one, cus having more obscure critters is neat.
>Just let him be a character from some urban zone with a robot and a bat tagging along
I know many love Team Dark and their interaction, but do they really need to be a thing too in Classic?
Not pulling an Iizuka and saying they can't be friends here, but they need to operate as a group?
>If you think of a better way to integrate edgy hedgy outside of making him an Eggman goon, I'm all ears
Have him just exist, no explanation.
>Shadow's character and origin is anchored down to
his popularity. I can see why as a fan you think he needs to retain some semblance of his backstory but normalgays don't give a frick and just think he's cool, plus Sega acts like he is just some mysterious random butthole hedgehog so for classic that is all he would have to be. What is Sonic's lore? Amy's? Tails'? Nothing, and no one cares. It just works.
Just because he's popular, doesn't mean he needs to be in fricking everything. He was completely fricking pointless in Boom, and the same will be the case with Classic. His BEST is being in Adventure exclusively, that's why he doesn't even work in meta boost era.
Besides, Shadowtards are the cringiest fans in the entire fanbase. The last thing I want is them leaking over into other eras for no fricking reason.
>Just because he's popular, doesn't mean he needs to be in fricking everything.
Being that Sonic is a mascot made to sell merch, it kind of does mean that.
>Besides, Shadowtards are the cringiest fans in the entire fanbase. The last thing I want is them leaking over into other eras for no fricking reason.
Completely fair.
>Just because Shadow's popular, doesn't mean he needs to be in fricking everything
t. a very wise anon
(No sarcasm or irony, truly meant that)
>plus Sega acts like he is just some mysterious random butthole hedgehog so for classic that is all he would have to be.
I unironically think that would make a lot more sense than whatever crap they are preparing to explain his presence in the third movie
>I can see why as a fan you think he needs to retain some semblance of his backstory but normalgays don't give a frick and just think he's cool
This.
>Just because he's popular, doesn't mean he needs to be in fricking everything.
This
>He was completely fricking pointless in Boom, and the same will be the case with Classic
Also this.
>Besides, Shadowtards are the cringiest fans in the entire fanbase
especially this
>Why does everything Archie and IDW write feel so juvenile?
Because Sonic is an inherently juvenile and The Western canon's attempt to make it more mature just does the opposite & make it even more juvenile.
To be fair, SEGA did the same thing and in the end, just doubled down on the junvinile behavior after failing to attract an older audience outside nostalgia.
The point of classic is that it takes place before SA1, meaning NOTHING about post S3K is mean to matter/exist in classic moving past Mania.
Just like Adventure-Modern era if you want modern era characters, there's no reason to mix the fanbase when Forces proves no one likes the other half.
I wish they'd use classic Choatix
Classic Sonic multimedia project when?
>mfw I remember Darkspine Sonic was a thing
You know, I genuinely forgot I'd drawn these. Thank you anon
>wouldn't work in the classic era.
Sounds like loser talk. They would work, the only problem you run into is having to tone down Rouge and coomers would riot if the toned down version became her default look.
>Lawsuit incoming
Ultimate ship incoming, make a path, anons
This ship isn't new, it's been around.
It's also lame.
Didn't say it's new, I said ultimate.
A few smiles, running through the forest alone, that's all you need to fuel the shippers.
(If you read the pic's name, you'll understand what I truly meant)
Classic Amy's still cute as frick
Have these two ever even interacted out out side of Lost World and Forces?
Maybe Amy screaming at Knuckles in the rocket in A2
it appears my superiority has led to some controversy
Nevermind that, the concept art gallery's been posted around too. This is there listed under "concept for Sonic's family", next to an actual concept for Sonic's family from the manga. What the hell is it?
Vector was a boxer and Charmy was a postman at some point it seems.
The characters being postmen is a concept that was in the manga already, and Vector being a boxer, whatever. But the whole thing is incongruous. It looks like Sonic 1-era concepts for the manga, when they hadn't decided Sonic's design, but then Knuckles is there. But he's a shy cook? There's a bear? Is it the same one from the manga concepts? Why's Sonic dressed like that? Is it Sonic at all?
That bear was most likely what turned into Bark.
Can't wait to see Cybershell talk about this treasure trove.
See, was it, though? It's easy from the outside to make a guess like that, but Bean and Bark were created by AM2, an entirely separate team within Sega who'd otherwise not touched Sonic. I honestly think this is entirely unrelated to Sonic the Fighters in any way
My guess is that isn't Knuckles, but an extremely early draft of Amy (or a random female character who got replaced with Amy in the final manga).
That looks more like Shadow in the middle.
They probably liked the design, but didn't want Sonic's brother to be cooler than him, so they made him a dark rival instead.
Coincidence since beta Shadow looked far different in general.
Wouldn't put it as an impossibility that Hoshino might've looked at this and used it as inspiration when finishing Shadow
But fairly unlikely, yes
More likely he looked at the tentative early drafts of Knuckles where he was just Sonic with a chad jaw
>the concept art gallery's been posted around too
Where?
Thanks anon!
Metal is missing from all of these because the Sonic CD animated stuff has been fixed and will be presented in new HD quality.
Not a cartoon, rrrrreee, autists get out, furgays, etc.
Clearly they don't, because she was not a bonus player character.
This is the first time Classic sonic actually has a narrative but again it very little information
Origins animations are is really just adapting the Japanese manual stories which explained all this shit as well as the Tails getting bullied thing. It's nice that we're finally getting this stuff.
>Origins animations are is really just adapting the Japanese manual stories
they did not adapt fully since they did not show the village
What village is this, again?
That said yeah they're not particularly concerned with adapting the Japanese manuals but they're so simple that they don't seem to overall contradict anything either
if i recall on the Japanese manuals
it was mentioned that tails was being treated like shit on his village because he had 2 tails
>What village is this, again?
West Side Island, where Tails is from and where the bulk of Sonic 2 takes place.
is probably just trolling like from last thread.
I hadn't checked the manual for Sonic 2 in a while, which is why I was asking, I didn't remember about a village. Checking Retro, the Sonic 2 manual translations only mention "the other animals in the island", etc. I don't think it's wrong to assume there'd be some settlement, some village in Westside Island, but dunno where the idea of one having specifically being mentioned is coming from
It omits some of the added details from the manuals, like Knuckles thinking the Death Egg is a "dragon's egg" prophesized to bring ruin.
The dragon is Chaos
Well, yeah, that's more or less what it ultimately ended up leading to.
Man i love stuff like this.
Despite seeming vague and disconnected there is a solid series of events and narrative actions going from Sonic 1 to 06 in which new character information is given, characters grow and develop, and the world is expanded.
There is a big change in style, tone, and narrative going from Classic to Adventure but I view that in the same way I view the shift between OG Dragon Ball and Z as part of the same thing.
In truth the two eras are a lot more connected than they seem mostly because those connections were removed in the west or just never made their way over.
>I view that in the same way I view the shift between OG Dragon Ball and Z as part of the same thing.
Fully agreed.
>mostly because those connections were removed in the west or just never made their way over.
Yes, but try to explain that to overzealous "Western Sonic" fans...
Except for 06. I think the Shadow character arc is the only thing connecting to past titles, but even then it could just be fan interpretation and the game intended for Shadow to just be rebooted into an anti hero with unfalterable morals instead of just someone dealing with their past. I could argue SA2 to 06 was its own thing.
Tails village has never been shown in anything, or even named for that matter. It's jsut known that he was bullied there and it's what convinced him to leave.
> It's jsut known that he was bullied there and it's what convinced him to leave.
How the hell do you know it a known place if you just mentioned it was never shown or named for that matter ?
...Because it was mentioned he came from there, on West Side Island and he was bullied there? Do you think we need a name to know that Tails was born into a shitty village? Are you moronic?
>Do you think we need a name to know that Tails was born into a shitty village?
I never stated we need a name for the village you moron im just saying Origins did not fully adapted the manual half of the content is missing
>half of the content is missing
Oh no it's moronic
Was this on the animation oh rigth no it wasnt guess this proves my point they did not fully adapt the manual into the animation
You realize no village is mentioned there
yeah i just noticed im kinda confused here since i dont know if the village was a canon thing or not ?
I've never heard about it, so I'm willing to bet it's non-canon stuff that people here keep spreading. Again, it's not like it's a wrong guess to go "yeah there'd probably be a village", but there isn't to my memory any actual mention of it
well the manual did mention "Because of his two tails, he was bullied by everyone" so again im not sure at this point
He was bullied by the others in the island, yes, but as far as I know there's never a specific mention of there being a village
>Origins animations are is really just adapting the Japanese manual stories
Barely. Honestly these were pretty underwhelming, I was hoping for more considering the price but I had a feeling it would just look like a cheap generic cartoon. At least the initial intro is neat.
>I was hoping for more considering the price
It would have been nice to have some extra animations inbetween levels, and not just at the beginning and the end.
I wouldn't have minded if the whole ending cutscenes were replaced by animated ones, if I have to be honest.
After all, if I wanted to see sprite cutscene kino, I could just go and play classic mode anyway.
Yeah that's what I was hoping for too
They didn't adapt the Angel Island kore or Sonic 2's sky god lore.
Normies don't care about that, they just need to see their favorite mascots interacting and enough Amy to think she mattered at all outside CD.
>There was only six Emeralds in Sonic 1 because the seventh wasn't on South Island
Well, that's one minor mystery solved.
Thought it was neat that they acknowledged that.
I remember they used the same idea in reboot Archie
>Fartchie
>ShitAm
Stop bringing these awful shitty turds and let it go.
Dude, you are the only one to complain about it.
Everyone complains about these turds. Literally everyone was glad to know Archie was finally dead.
Except the Sally fans.
>Except the waifugays.
This. I'm bummed we'll never see Nicole in official media again.
You are insane and should be embarrassed.
They really don't.
Normally I don't like saying this but...
There's no cartoon tied to this nor a comic book
this isn't Cinemaphile . This is >>Cinemaphile
>animation isn't Cinemaphile
Frick off.
That's like saying Cinemaphile should discuss cutscenes in games
If done by anime studios, don't see why not
Go ahead
Do it
Make that thread on Cinemaphile and see what happens
I don't doubt they'll reject it, each board has its own culture
But as far as I'm concerned here on Cinemaphile, speaking about the animation cutscenes by an american studio that's also done other cartoons, I don't see how this is off-topic
>But as far as I'm concerned here on Cinemaphile, speaking about the animation cutscenes by an american studio that's also done other cartoons
Bruh, is Freddy Got Fingered Cinemaphile for Zebras in America?
A thread talking about those moments specifically? Yeah
We have threads for animation in live action music videos.
You just don't see it because you're either summer time kid or its buried under other shit.
Powerhouse has done cutscenes for numerous other games
Shit that wouldn't warrant a thread here
Why not? So long as the focus is specifically into those cutscenes, and not the game otherwise
Think moron
It's either all okay or none of it is
A game having animated cutscenes doesn't make it Cinemaphile or Cinemaphile
Sonic Origins getting a pass means almost EVERY western game gets a pass because they all have animated cutscenes you fricking mouthbreather
Didn't read lul
I guarantee that if this thread wasn't allowed to be here then it would've been deleted by now. So stop arguing and at least try to talk about something Sonic related.
It's the same autist who invades the analog horror threads and spams them to death. Just hide and ignore him. You literally can't get him to stop.
Why does everything Archie and IDW write feel so juvenile?
Wait, Eggman wears a cape?
You just blow in from Stupid Town?
I've always thought the yellow was like an undershirt or a large shirt collar, or something like that.
>I've always thought the yellow was like an undershirt or a large shirt collar
Well, that makes two of us (NTA, just in case)
Is there a montage of "story mode movie" setting all the cut-scenes and videogame level (with all the emeralds) to make it look like single continuous story?
>Game isn't even out yet
What the frick Sega
When does it come out?
Tomorrow but it's been out for at least a day or 2
30 years ago
Sexual intercourse with Miles Prower
Frick off, no one cares about stupid-ass SA2 and Shadow. This thread is about Sonic Origins.
As enjoyable as these are they always just stick out as fan content rather than anything else. They feel out of place with the rest of the games.
Cute and true to the original style.
>true to the original style
Only on a surface level. The cutscenes could really have used some japanese flair, instead it's just kind of uninteresting aside from the intro to the whole collection.
I fell off TGT when they started with the pentagons and puppet shit. It just got boring and less funny.
>lacking patience
>it gets good 20 hours in
Never cared for this mindset. I give a story I'm not into like a couple issues or episodes, if it still sucks then I'm out. I'll enjoy the few fun panels or pages people post but I'm not slogging through mediocrity for hours to find them myself.
