I really thought the MCU was going to going to make Mysterio a hero because Gyllenhaal has that quality to him and having the bait and switch be that obvious would have been moronic
Instead the bait and switch was that obvious and the movie was that moronic
For some reason I'm thinking of Snyder's Watchmen, where Ozymandias was played by the shadiest least trustworthy c**t possible and managed to thematically ruin it in the opposite direction
We’re getting 3 shitty sony spiderman movies this year (I know Kraven got delayed). Surely one a year at most is enough? At this pace they’re gonna run out of characters to make movies off of within the next five years.
Absolutely, that's also the reason why all those terrible xmen and fantastic 4 movies were made.
I don’t get this. Marvel sold movie riches decades ago to some studio that went bankrupt and massive fire sale. Rights got split between MGM and Sony. As posted, Sony got the rights. Why do have to make a movie every couple years? Marvel doesn’t own the movie rights. They haven’t since the ‘70s.
It's a specific clause which affects all the film rights Marvel sold.
I think if those ips don't get new movies in a certain time marvel could buy the rights back for a similar amount they got back in the 90s. Imagine Sony being forced to sell spiderman film rights for ~10 millions lol.
>Imagine Sony being forced to sell spiderman film rights for ~10 millions lol.
Keep having to make these movies every 2 years it won’t be worth 10 million. How
many more Spider Man reboots can people stomach? Zero chance of giving character a much needed break
>One deal was all it took for Spider-Man to become a subject of Sony’s film empire, but it was a hell of a negotiation that made it official. In a world where Sony wanted to remake Thunderball for the modern era, and MGM wanted to make a Spider-Man movie, both studios had their own claims to each other’s properties.
>The solution to their woes was simple: MGM and Sony made each other whole by trading off their respective rights to the franchises they were competing with. Which left Sony with an all clear to bring Spider-Man to the movies for the first time ever. Through Columbia Pictures, Sony was now ready to take a spin with Peter Parker at the movies.
Superhero movies before sony used spiderman to elevate the whole genre were seldom successful financially, selling spiderman to sony was the best move they ever did, it boosted the value of the rest of their catalogue and made the mcu possible.

Would actually be kino but Marvel doesn't want Spider-Man anywhere near this shit since it would damage the brand by association
And you know, some people might say if can't get permission for Spider-Man to appear in your Spider-Verse movie maybe you shouldn't bother but I'm not a studio executive so what the frick do I know
The guy who played Arnim Zola in the first Doctor America movie would make a spot-on Doc Oc from OP's pic. Got the face for it, just dye his hair or give him a Moe wig.
They might be thinking about it but I suspect all the spiderverse shit is going to be put on hold after Madame Web and Kraven both bomb. The Venom movies validated their delusions for a moment but reality's about to set in again
i saw The Boy and the Heron the other day and there was a previous for Madam Web. The trailer was fricking awful but due to my autism my main concern was that other people in the theater were probably not aware it was sony slop. it's like sony's whole strategy is that of the grocery store check-out knock-off DVD video.
As absurd as it sounds I think to some extent these films are sincerely being made with the intent that they're going to be huge hits. Anybody in their right mind could tell them nobody cares about Madame Web without Spider-Man but these people aren't in their right mind. They're been counting eggs before they hatch ever since the first Spider-Man made so much money.
Remember those Amy Pascal email leaks form like 15 fricking years ago? They sincerely believed that anybody, literally *anybody* connected to Spider-Man was an automatic hit. Every individual villain, Mary Jane Aunt May, they were all getting their moment in the sun. I just never happened because the actual Spider-Man films themselves started to underperform and they had to go groveling to Marvel. But apparently they never let go of the idea because they can't accept that the majority of what they have rights to is worthless. They're gonna have to learn the hard way, and they will very soon.
I think Sony's endgame for 10+ years has been the Sinister Six. It's gonna be Sony's Avengers.
With Kraven and Madame Web, they might just have the prerequisite amount of anti-villains to make the film, provided they plan on Venom playing the Spidey role.
You might be right but if that's actually the case they are so fricked. They're so fricking late to the party and they don't even have anything to offer. Even the last Venom movie barely moved the needle and everything else they've done has or will flop hard.
You can't sell a team-up of characters no one gives a shit about just because there's a name brand attached to it any more. Just ask Disney.
Oh, I know the current state of capeshit. It's not the time or place for "Sony Avengers", although "No Way Home" came pretty close.
Spider-Man will legit not have any villains left.
From the rumors I heard, the new Spidey films will feature Miles Morales and the Clone Saga. Traditional Spidey villains, might not be needed. Hell, Tom Holland can play all the roles.
We've already seen >Vulture >Shocker >Scorpion >Mysterio >Kraven >Morbius, but more likely Carnage
Holy shit there's even Disney fans here on Cinemaphile, is there anywhere you homosexuals don't infect, spreading your hate and pedo loving fanboy shit?
this is one of the only good comic runs ever. Just Doc Oc being way better than this gaygoid at being spiderman. I'd also like to see one where Doc Oc tentacle rapes everybody, especially Peter.
Based Sony are the only ones making kino anymore. Even Nintendo kneeled.
They're turning them into heroes though. It's the most backwards ass shit I've ever seen.
Yeah. Just like James Cameron did with the Terminator. This is the final stage of capeshit movies. Once these start to bomb, there is nothing left.
I really thought the MCU was going to going to make Mysterio a hero because Gyllenhaal has that quality to him and having the bait and switch be that obvious would have been moronic

They have to keep the rights. Even if they are all Morbius tier, they must keep the rights.
We’re getting 3 shitty sony spiderman movies this year (I know Kraven got delayed). Surely one a year at most is enough? At this pace they’re gonna run out of characters to make movies off of within the next five years.
This. They have to make Spider-Man movies or lose the rights.
Is it worth it if they all bomb, losing them millions?
Spiderman movies haven't bombed in a long time. Even TASM 2 just underperformed, but made money.
Absolutely, that's also the reason why all those terrible xmen and fantastic 4 movies were made.

whoever permanently sold the film rights of spiderman to sony should be hanged, and his entire bloodline erased.

Marvel likely would have died if they hadn't

No they don't have to you moron
Literally 1994 Fantastic Four film tier behave
DO wiener
Doctor wiener.
They're desperate for all the cape money they can get before the trend is no longer profitable so they're leeching off the Spider-Man side characters.
I would keep making these movies but I would have spider-man show up in the last 5 minutes, punch out the badguy and leave while he's being arrested.
andrew garfield spiderman and you've got yourself a kino
Would actually be kino but Marvel doesn't want Spider-Man anywhere near this shit since it would damage the brand by association

>Doctor America
lol fug, you know what I meant. I was thinking Doctor Octopus while typing Captain America. This guy.
Doctor Lawyer
Well because all the loser villains kept flopping so now they're going to do the villains people like.
I hate DO.
MMMMM PETER CAN I TOUCH YOUR SLENDER BODY?
Make a Hypno-Hustler movie, you cowards!
Capeshit is over
DR OCTOGONAPUS WAAAAHHHHH
They might be thinking about it but I suspect all the spiderverse shit is going to be put on hold after Madame Web and Kraven both bomb. The Venom movies validated their delusions for a moment but reality's about to set in again

is he that versatile?
I guess we're due for tasteful blackface to make a comeback
and Hunter Schaffer as Spider Gwen.
Holy shit there's even Disney fans here on Cinemaphile, is there anywhere you homosexuals don't infect, spreading your hate and pedo loving fanboy shit?
What the frick does anything in that comment have to do with Disney?
KINO KINO KINO KINOOOOOOOOOOOO
SPIDER PUSS
SPIDER PUSS
FRIENDLY homosexual ASS SPIDER PUSS
I don't how the rights work but I would prefer a Superior Spider-Man movie
It hasn't changed
Sony owns all Spider-man and spiderman related material for the big screen
So Superior will be well within their rights, if they want to
And they should
this is one of the only good comic runs ever. Just Doc Oc being way better than this gaygoid at being spiderman. I'd also like to see one where Doc Oc tentacle rapes everybody, especially Peter.
Doc discovering how much Peter actually held back was kino
Spider-Man will legit not have any villains left.
Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: The Movie when?
be good person
>try to solve world's energy crisis
>ai goes rogues and fricks your head making you a baddy
True kino would be making marvel heroes look like the baddies leaving destruction in their wake making disney seethe.
>I'm an evil butthole, but I save the world from my brother, who is a much bigger, more evil butthole
name a more kino trope
>MCU gays seething AGAIN
Reminder you homosexuals tried to paint Morbius as the biggest bomb of all time and then the Marvels happened lmao.
Because that's how creatively bankrupt the entertainment industry is.
