There's that sound from SEED where Kira does a clutch shield block and then spins around and fires his beam rifle. I forget where, but it often plays in my mind whenever I pull off some heat of the moment play IRL like getting on the morning train just as the doors are closing.

My homies. One thing I always appreciate from classic /m/ stuff are footstep sounds. They're not super focused on just being thuds, but having distinct sounds between, say, Zeon and Federation suits, which is a great touch.
Also gotta give it to the sound of the Penelope's flying and beam rifle. Really like the Turn A's beam rifle as well. The machine gun sound they finally settled on ca. The Origin and Unicorn is pretty good too.
Ah shit, forgot the Zeta beam rifle too. In general I really love how distinct and just a little weird /m/ sounds can be.

I always end up laughing whenever another show completely unrelated to mecha just has the newtype jingle in it. Half the fun of watching Kenichi was how much they overused the sound effect.

How are we enjoying the Q2 remaster so far?
I'm partial to the churning WHHHHESSSSSHHHHHUUUUUSHHHHHEEEESHHHHHHH noise when a robot is about to explode (also found in Fist of the North Star) because I accidentally reversed engineered it
it's a reel-to-reel misthreaded so the pickup feeder isn't used and the tape scrapes against the head assembly, then you put a mic up close to the scraping, then you pot up the feed _out_ from that reel so it has a slight echo
then you record your complete output to something

It's either GN-Drive or Gundam Frame activation sound. Both are nice
Probably the SEED mode activation noise, the GN drive sound, or the Zero System echo.
I could've sworn I heard the GN drive sound effect used in Geass when the Lancelot Albion appears.
I wouldn't be surprised if the shows shared resources considering it's the same studio.
