Such a charming, incredible movie. South Park was the best thing ever in this era. I was like 9 when this came out and it was absolutely perfect... Seasons 1-3 and this movie. Just perfect.
Loved the show for another 10 or so years too after, though it finally started to slip, but it never reached the heights of this movie and episodes from around that time.
Mega based! Season 1-3 and the movie was absolute golden PEAK and i can still go back and rewatch them a lot, the rest until about season 11 i guess is still good, but can't be compared to the OG run

Basically ditto to this entire comment. South Park came at exactly the right time for me to be the same age as the main characters, including not understanding the things they didn't understand and having jokes fly over my head, just laughing at the crude toilet humour and swearing etc. I would add that I personally consider season 4 to be part of the same era, as it wasn't until season 5 that the original incidental music guy left and was replaced, changing the vibe of the show away from the original run entirely, in my opinion. Go check it out, it's true.
Also, the best song from B,L&U is 'Up There', sung by Satan.

South park was at its best when it was just going for absurdity with some satire sprinkled in (mexican staring frog of southern sri lanka). Just doing satire gets boring and more and more insisting on itself.
Correct, but then at one point Trey decided his show is better than gags and catchphrases and simple jokes, because thats for Family Guy and now we have to watch a slight satire entirely based on watever is the thing on the news or internet, or his Black person stepson is into. We cant have random funny stuff, random ripping on celebrities and no "i learned something today", "screw you guys..", no Kenny dying for no reason. It all has to be a single 20 minute joke, sometimes stretched over an entire season. Tegrity, Hot dog house, PC princ and the other stories have LOOOONG overstayed their deserved time.
None of the characters behave any close to how they used to, and their voices are also way different now. They only look somewhat the same. Wendy, Cartmans mom, Kyle, Garrison and others are completely different (and boring) to what they initially were.
