Was it really that bad?
You seriously couldnt tell this meme was mocking the movie?
That image is from when his frickbuddy commits suicide and has nothing to do with the bomb lol lamo
>the film was…astroturfed?
It was mostly good for the music and the "OMG I KNOW THAT ACTOR". It's a bit too long and very stressful if you're having a bad day or detoxing
I didn't watch it but the whole idea of the movie sucked ass so I'm glad I didn't see it.
im going to see it today
Because most people haven't seen it yet. When you can pirate a decent version people here will start seeing it and you'll see more threads. This is literally how it goes with every movie.
It is a great kino. Why do you think Cinemaphile stop talking about it? Open the catalog. This shitty board only discuss flicks. I blame zoomers and gen alpha.
Its a movie about the a man that created the atomic bomb but the point of the film is actually his security clearance. Imagine if someone made a movie about the moon landing astronauts but the moon landing wasn't the point of the movie, the point was budget commission hearing afterwards.
A good hour of the movie is spent making the bomb. What else do you expect the movie to do once he's tested it? Show the nukes hitting Japan? That's not really anything to do with Oppenheimer, so they have him hear it on the radio and then show his reaction and feelings to it after.
Did people seriously think the movie was going to be 2-3 hours of Cillian Murphy building an atom bomb in a desert? lmao
Just make it shorter?
>Its a movie about the a man that created the atomic bomb but the point of the film is actually his security clearance
You don't know the point of the film. Too dumb really.
> Imagine if someone made a movie about the moon landing astronauts but the moon landing wasn't the point of the movie.
His security clearance being revoked is considered a pivotal moment in his life. It was a major event where the scientific community viewed it as a betrayal of a patriot by the government. Teller's statement against Oppenheimer made him a pariah within the scientific community. Almost all biographies on him focus on it and there was even a play about it decades back.
You probably think you made some scathing critique with analogy but you come off as hilariously moronic.
Its good but wasnt super memeworthy.
It looks kinda memeworthy
>t. have not watched it but already laughing my ass of at the ''i'm become death'' scene and the senate hearing cuck scene
It is the kind of shit you'd expect from a porn parody
months hyping it up, discussing it and when posting non stop memes

If you think the point of this board is to discuss films we enjoy, you're moronic. This is a low-barrier-to-entry board on a honeypot site for a bunch of thirdie ESLs and British Commonwealth free speech tourists to cope, seethe, and project "whilst" smugposting at each other in an effort to save face for getting mouth fricked by their own governments on the daily.
Brutal and scorched earth pilled.
What the heck are you rambling on about? Why did you put "whilst" in quotation marks? What are your pronouns?
>Why did you put "whilst" in quotation marks?
What a strange thing to get peculiar about. Are you okay, Anon?
It was an awful movie that was astroturfed and corporate gaslit out the ass, same both barbie.
I think the guardian ran an article about how these two movies represent unprecedented levels of astrpturfing and pr control over how a movies are percieved up to release.
The only sane thing to do is insulate yourself from hype machine and wait a month or two after a movie releases to see actual criticism
How the frick can Oppenheimer and Barbie even be uttered in the same fricking phrase??
We truly are a trash culture.
believe it or not these marketing campaigns have a budget and time schedule. indians do not work for free, though it is probably pretty close to it in USD
It was boring and way too long. It doesnt dive into any of the technical problems overcome by the manhattan project. Theres just some throwaway shallow dialogue. They have a fishbowl and they drop marbles into it to represent the amount of uranium theyve enriched, and thats about it. Almost all of the film is just about Oppies personal relationships and his autism about wanting to be a communist without being called a communist and how he waffles over wanting attention for making the bomb while wanting to signal for PR reasons that he thinks its bad. Then when you think its about to end the have an hour long postscript involving Robert Downey Jr playing a mean bureaucrat. And theres hardly anything here cinematically to justify it being IMAX. Most of the movie is just face closeups.
5/10
Movie of the year
Simple as.
It was above average which isn’t that much of a feat
Cillian made a lot of funny faces during the flick
i want to drink beers and go camping in the rain with this beautiful man
No, it was propaganda and ads and you fell for it, stupid frick
>What a strange peculiar weird post, yes? Hmm?
Not really. You're just foreign. Go revolt against your government and frick off, tourist.
Mental illness
No. I just don't enjoy your presence here. You fricks are terrible posters.
Not my problem. Go slit your wrists if you're so upset.
>Not my problem.
Well, that's where you're wrong, tourist, because I intend to use American soft power of television & film to turn you into a homosexual. And so far it's working.
boring forgettable trash
It's going to do a billion at the box office.
It is very good indeed. Paced beautifully.
