Part of me wishes that Bailey is actually Benjy Parker (Peter's son) from the future or another universe, hence the red hair, and that the picture Spider-Boy kept in his locker at F.E.A.S.T of his mom was Mary Jane. There's also been more than a few hints dropped that Spider-Boy is keeping secrets from Peter, and seemed about to reveal some of them in Superior #1. But I doubt we're getting that.

It's commented on near-constantly. Spider-Man flat out rejected Bailey at first because of his age and goes out of his way to keep him away from really dangerous villains. Both Electro, Mirage, and Mr. Negative call out Spidey for having a kid around.

Bailey is accused of a bunch of shit that is flat out wrong, chiefly that he is meant to replace Miles. This is hilariously stupid because anyone saying it is all but flat out saying that Miles is just Peter's sidekick. He also isn't a mary sue (aside for how he's being introduced as having been there the whole time) because he doesn't beat villains that are above his weight and actively accepts and acknowledges that Peter won't let him fight in the big leagues. He also doesn't have a million unique powers, he has his own version of Spider-sense and the monster spider aspect but on the whole he's just a junior Spider-man, he doesn't even have web shooters right now. Not to mention his first solo gave him several unique villains, something Miles couldn't claim for a majority of his existence. It helps that two of Bailey's villains are directly tied to his backstory, which outside of Rabble (who fricking sucks motivations wise) I can't say about Miles.

I never said I didn't like it. I just prefer a cloth like mask with spider lenses over the mechanical faceplates that move they tried in the initial concept.
I like this artstyle for his comics the most, it has the nicest showing of Bailey with fluffy ginger hair and eyebrows and it gives his face a nice smattering of freckles that actually look like freckles.
Probably my bias talking but seeing as they're giving Bailey some old-school mad scientist types, I'd just give him the Iron Cross Army from the Spider-Man toku so he has something as wacky as him to deal with.

A delinquent son of an Italian Mafia Boss around Bailey's age causing trouble on the streets. Basically a Bully-type Kid villain that Spider-boy can butt heads with from time to time.
I guess? The idea was that, as the heir to a crime family he would use a metal bat covered in barbed wire and firearms plus his fathers men to keep with/overwhelm Bailey. Think Mr.Y from streets of rage 4, but as a 10-year old.
The idea of a kid mobster villain mostly put me in the mind of like, a more comedic set up. Though of course he has plenty of that already. The image it conjured up to me was of some brat trying to play at being a mobster, and being humored by his father and the rest of the city cause, you know, he's a kid but also his dad is mobster with his fingers in everything. I guess like Ed Wuncler the Third.
Then he'd, like that one powerpuff girl villain, just try and make up his own villain persona and buy all sorts of shit to try and beat Spider-Boy.
Kinda what i was going for, i'm not exactly good with putting my thoughts to paper. He's a kid, so he wouldn't be a danger to anybody except other kids. Hence why i said "Bully-type villain", unless Slott decides to send Bailey to school in which case he'd be an actual Bully villain. Is what i'm saying make sense?

Part of me wishes that Bailey is actually Benjy Parker (Peter's son) from the future or another universe, hence the red hair, and that the picture Spider-Boy kept in his locker at F.E.A.S.T of his mom was Mary Jane. There's also been more than a few hints dropped that Spider-Boy is keeping secrets from Peter, and seemed about to reveal some of them in Superior #1. But I doubt we're getting that.

It's commented on near-constantly. Spider-Man flat out rejected Bailey at first because of his age and goes out of his way to keep him away from really dangerous villains. Both Electro, Mirage, and Mr. Negative call out Spidey for having a kid around.

Bailey unironically is like if someone took Miles as a "what not to fricking do" list so far. Slott can and probably will frick this up but as of now Spider-Boy is alright.
Bailey is accused of a bunch of shit that is flat out wrong, chiefly that he is meant to replace Miles. This is hilariously stupid because anyone saying it is all but flat out saying that Miles is just Peter's sidekick. He also isn't a mary sue (aside for how he's being introduced as having been there the whole time) because he doesn't beat villains that are above his weight and actively accepts and acknowledges that Peter won't let him fight in the big leagues. He also doesn't have a million unique powers, he has his own version of Spider-sense and the monster spider aspect but on the whole he's just a junior Spider-man, he doesn't even have web shooters right now. Not to mention his first solo gave him several unique villains, something Miles couldn't claim for a majority of his existence. It helps that two of Bailey's villains are directly tied to his backstory, which outside of Rabble (who fricking sucks motivations wise) I can't say about Miles.

Low stakes with the occasional bigger cross-event that he has a bit part in. Last thing we need is another Poochie.
It's easier to get into new stories when they are lighthearted and don't involve multiversal crossovers and complex lore that is explained across 7 different comic series. If Marvel plans to make Spider-Boy a kid-friendly IP aimed to introduce new readers to comics they should keep things simple.
I like his outfit because it looks like an onesie or a Spider-Man cosplay designed by a kid (like Bailey).

I guess? The idea was that, as the heir to a crime family he would use a metal bat covered in barbed wire and firearms plus his fathers men to keep with/overwhelm Bailey. Think Mr.Y from streets of rage 4, but as a 10-year old.
The idea of a kid mobster villain mostly put me in the mind of like, a more comedic set up. Though of course he has plenty of that already. The image it conjured up to me was of some brat trying to play at being a mobster, and being humored by his father and the rest of the city cause, you know, he's a kid but also his dad is mobster with his fingers in everything. I guess like Ed Wuncler the Third.
Then he'd, like that one powerpuff girl villain, just try and make up his own villain persona and buy all sorts of shit to try and beat Spider-Boy.
