Spider-humor

Remember when spider-man would joke a lot more rather than just have drama? Remember when he annoyed a convict just to get info out of her and went to black cat and asked why if her breasts being so big how could she be so fast?

Why can't we have that spidey any more? Can't we get rid of these cringy writers trying to ruin good spider-jokes? Why can't we have fun anymore?

Because the times reflect the authors. Just as how the 16th century authors were different from the 19th century, it differs from time period.

That's logical, but this is spidey and more and more are taking away from major parts that makes up spider-man.
He was always humorous. Now it's always cringy drama and terrible writing.

If he quipped and made jokes, then he'd be too much like MCU quipslop.
The real problem there of course isn't Spider-man being like the MCU, it was everyone in the MCU being like Spider-man so it was no longer a stand out aspect of Peter's character. Now it's just eyeroll inducing to a lot of people when the hero won't shut up and keeps making quips.

He always does that even now. The problem is now they focus on dramaslop. Current comics are trying too hard to out edge the fricking clone saga now.
Spideys humor isn't just making jokes, but street level stuff.
Remind us he is a New Yorker. Make miles the cringy serious spider. I don't care. Right now people focus on the MCU too much.
But alot of that MCU humor is people quipping around their allies.
Spider-man needs to be goading his villians again.

          >If he quipped and made jokes, then he'd be too much like MCU quipslop.
Ironically, I don't think Holland Spider-Man quips all that much. Not as much as comic Spider-Man used to anyway.
None of the live-action versions have really captured how downright obnoxious Peter can be.

            >how downright obnoxious Peter can be.
Garfield's Spidey got close to insufferable a few times.
This little quirk - that Spider-Man's constant joking can get pretty frustrating - gets forgotten very often even in vidya.
Although... It's not that. I suppose it's more correct to say that zoomers don't see being an overly-talkative snarker as a bad thing and can't imagine such attitude ever getting on anyone's nerves, which means that writers don't put negative reactions to Spider-man's quips into their stories as to not alienate the audience.

Peter didn't use to make jokes just to be obnoxious. He made jokes because he was a nervous butthole. He used it to lighten the mood of the fight or to frick with the villain he was fighting against.
Watch some older media of Spider-man, or like Spider-man Edge of Time, where the only time he really gets obnoxious is when the big mutant of Doc Ock, Walker Sloan and Anti-Venom emerges from the time portal and Peter starts to babble and make Reddit-tier jokes about coming up with a name for him. That's what people get wrong now.
Him making annoying jokes is just annoying and not fun to watch. You have to make them actually funny, or keep it to when a situation gets really serious. Which incredibly enough, the Sam Raimi movies did. But that's too much, he should still joke more on the regular than in those movies imo.

              >Sam Raimi movies did.
No he didn't, there was 1 joke the rest were garbage. Sam raimi couldn't get the spidey humor at all.

The comics are non-canon anyway. The REAL Spider-Man is an amalgamation of every major adaptation in movies, shows, even the PS games.

Remember when spider-man humor was him making snarky jokes, being a loveable dick, and not every character dunking on him and him making jokes about being insecure with low swlf esteem

I do, I think the writers keep forgetting that he has the hardest fricking job of all. His humor is what helps him cope.

I also remember that characters were allowed to be genuinely annoyed at Spider-man's constant babbling (which by itself also didn't revolve around making fun of comics and their cliches) instead of trying to out-qiup him.
      But alas, MCU happened.

It was always fun seeing people annoyed by Spider-Mans quips, but at the same time they still had a lot of respect for him.

I have been reading some, but its not quips, they just push so much melodramatic crap that it's not good at all. Rek tap was fun for a sec but it's Peter who has to act serious all the time.

Spider-Man comics have always had drama. The comic has always been Peter Parker's drama because his life keeps falling apart with Spider-Man punching weirdos and making jokes as they try to murder him. Then he goes home and cries because his real life is a mess.

The panel from Op is from an actual comic where Peter tells Sauron this and Saurons replies
      >I don't want to cure cancer I want to make people into dinosaurs.
