I could see him snapping at Peter but then calming down after a boss fight. The little bits we get from his history with Peter make it seem like he's not a complete monster, since he refused to attack FEAST once.
Probably some story involvement, since he's one of Kraven's many targets.
I liked the times Sandman was depicted with a good side in the comics so I hope that they can add that part of him here

No, but for what it's worth the ones on the chopping block are probably the ones nobody likes. I expect a couple of my favorites to be cut because I have weird taste but we're getting Symbiote and Superior so I'm good on the suit front.
I just want to see more gameplay at this point, specifically what it feels like at the different levels of swing assist. I feel like I'll enjoy the game as a whole like I did the previous one, but if there really is a swing mode that's speed and physics-based it would become a day one purchase, but I still have no idea how much that actually effects the webswinging.

At most, all you'd need is the original Homecoming suit, and then make the FFH black suit and the end of NWH suit into colour variants for that one. It kinda feels right, I don't want Insomniac to just be the Spider-Man machine and if the Wolverine game sells well they're probably also going to make sequels to that one while also working on Ratchet and Clank, that's too much for a single studio even if they have a B Team.
Also I don't think that Goblin is a worse villain than Venom, what I wan't to know is how they're going to make him even more dangerous, the only thing I can think of is Norman just building a straight-up nuke, well, that or a pact with a demon, or maybe even Spider-Island? Who knows how they're going to end the story

Technically? Yes. Black Cat history and Sable friendship could be considered "oh that happened off screen" if you didn't play it, but Yuri was the big thing that will impact 2 going in. This isn't really a spoiler if you know comics, but Yuri undergoes her Wraith transformation in the DLC. Not seen in costume, but still
adding on to this, if you want the entire lore and history of the insomniac universe, the comics also are canon to its history. (the spider-verse inclusion is iffy at best as of rn iirc)

The way I see it, the game will end with Peter semi-retired and only coming out for the big bad guys. Also Norman is definitely going to specifically blame him for whatever happens to Harry.
Next game Miles and Cindy will be the main Spider duo, get their asses kicked by Goblin because he's combining the brute strength of Venom and the intelligence of Otto and Phin, and lure Peter out of retirement for the third act.

Maybe it's too early to tell but I think turning the Black Suit saga into the whole game - Eddie + Harry + Kraven, doesn't sound like an interesting plot.
I think peak Harry works better as a more "he's not bad but he's on the fricking edge" rather than him going evil like in ASM2, or the game. That's what made him so interesting during JMD's Harry Goblin Saga. One of his evil schemes was having a fricking family dinner and he had actual rules like not putting Mary Jane in danger, he should be more of a personal threat than a I AM INFEEEEEEEECTING ALL OF NEW YORK TO GET BACK AT SPIDER-WUSS kind of deal.
It actually sounds like they're going to be going through that route except instead of hallucinating his dad the symbiote is going to make Harry see/hear his mom, Harry is going to be very conflicted and it's mostly the symbiote in control at a certain point (at least from what I've seen)
That ruins it too since it's the symbiote as the main villain instead of Harry.

If this is true, then I think that Miles-haters will love the third game because it perfectly sets up a reverse pic related.
In the comics, Miles had his powers for 6 months and had not intention of stepping up to be Spider-Man because he was afraid and figured that Peter could handle it. Eventually Goblin went apeshit and went after Peter's family and killed him. Miles rushed to the scene to help but he was too late.
If this "leak" is true then it's pretty obvious that in the third game, Normal will figure out Miles' identity, go after his family and community and that Miles will either die or be rendered unable to be Spider-Man making Peter realize his mistake in the same way that comic-Miles did originally.
Insomniac Peter would conclude the Goblin arc with an "Ultimate" Suit that Peter makes in Miles' honor and his vow to never again step away from his responsibilities. I like Miles and I hope this happens. That was one thing that I really liked about Miles' introduction and I think that it would be interesting to see Peter go through it.
It would also explain why Insomniac Miles isn't in Spider-Verse if the Peter we see has lost his Miles already.
Why would anyone love Miles getting the spotlight, another one of Peter's stories again, and also to teach Peter he needs to be responsible AGAIN?
I think that it would be a great way to give everyone what they want. Miles fans would get to play as a Miles Spider-Man in his prime and get recognition as a Spider-Man in his own right who was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and Peter fans who hate Miles no longer have to worry about him sharing the spotlight with Peter going forward. Peter even proves himself as the superior Spider-Man by defeating a foe who was too powerful for Morales to handle solo.
Personally, I hate most of recent Spider-Man comics for both Peter and Miles but I think that both have some great story beats and ideas mixed in throughout and I like to see different creative teams mix those good beats up to create a unique adaptation. So, I don't really see it as "Miles getting the spotlight in Peter's" story because Peter would simultaneously be getting the spotlight in what I feel was one of Miles' better story beats.

Weapons have been going pretty steadily down hill when they stopped doing interesting ones and kept rehashing the same ones over and over. I'm so sick of the buzz blades and mr zurkon (even if the new one is actually zurkon it does the same thing).
The planets in RA were total shit and there's only like nine of them. It sucks. A lot of them are just one linear set piece now too instead of actually being levels worth exploring.

It's been 13 years since the last great Spidey game "Shattered Dimensions" was released, despite being written by Slott, it was a perfect immersive experience (truly felt like you were a part of a superb crossover event), the gameplay was terrific & offered many daring creative choices, it was faithful to the comics & felt like a fantastic fusion between the Neversoft/Ultimate eras.
It's only flaw is the Beenox devs trying way too hard to ape the Arkham aesthetic/system but other than that it was well executed & reunited the MTV/Spectacular/'94 TAS VA Spiders together way before the Multiverse crap got tiresome & unbearable.
In comparison, Insomniac's approach to both games doesn't bring anything new to the table (their gameplay mostly riffs on what's been accomplished by previous developers) & their reworking of the Spider mythos/narrative plain sucks, not to mention utterly abysmal costume, human renders & visual choices when it comes to the overall presentation (that 1st white emblem on a classic red suit approach remains one of the ugliest redesigns of the modern era that could be only rivaled by the godawful v-shape atrocities of the MCU/Sony-verse).
"Shattered Dimensions" was the last time I felt really pumped for a Spider-Man game because in 2010 you didn't know what to expect from the game & you went in cold, without the massive marketing campaigns spoiling half of the story/plot points way in advance.
What followed "Shattered Dimensions" in the world of Spidey games was pure mid projects with no chances of returning to the form (i.e. 2004's Spider-Man 2, Neversoft's debut, Ultimate & Web of Shadows).
Based on all of the leaks & footage, Insomniac's sequel feels & looks like a dull, uninspired rehash of the Spidey lore & familiar story beats that we've seen before in other mediums but presented in a much more incompetent fashion. This coupled with godawful comics, NWH + ITSV/ATSV flicks makes this timeline the worst one to be a Spider-Man fan.

Wrong, the last great Spidey game was WoS, maybe EoT if you exclusively care about the story. SD has atrocious gameplay and some of the worst writing in the history of Spider-Man games, and that's REALLY saying something. Miguel in particular suffers from maybe his worst incarnation yet, and yes I'm including ATSV.
I will give it's visuals all the props I can though, Beenox absolutely fricking killed it with the environments, the levels are visually creative, and each artstyle fits its universe perfectly except MAYBE 616 which is a little underwhelming IMO. Noir in particular makes me wish we had a full game in that style.
Also some credit for making Mysterio the antagonist, but some lost credit too for a lame boss fight and not really living up to his MO.
It's nice that they let you frick with the colors on the suits. The standard suit with the white spider would probably look a lot better with the blue replaced with black.
