Spider-Man wore the symbiote during Secret Wars so I imagine their redoing that storyline again to tie into the upcoming Secret Wars film.

He was deputized as Venom under the US Marshal service as a Thunderbolt during the superhero civil war, and in Dark Avengers he was the official Spider-Man under Norman Osborn's team of government sanctioned Avengers.
