It fixes everything. You just refuse to watch it because you'd rather believe the ~~*producers*~~ who told you the theatrical cut was the better version.

I looked up the changes, it doesn't fix shit. The movies still a blasted mess with 2 too many plotlines and not a single plot thread feels fleshed out or properly resolved as a result. You can't fix this movie in editing, you have to remove entire chunks of it.

    >Invests you in the characters like a real drama rather than being entirely plot motivated
    >Each movie is a fable about Spider-Man learning a life lesson rather than a simple good guys vs bad guys story
    >Raimi is unafraid of having long, uninterrupted takes of his actors performing which is something even modern dramas struggle with
    >Action is fluid, imaginative, big, but rooted in character and never feels perfunctory
    >Is unafraid to be schmaltzy and goofy
    >Pokes fun at itself without being self-deprecating or cynical
    >Great performances and an emphasis on fleshing out characters
The fact that people think 3 is overstuffed feels less to do with the amount of villains and more to do with the fact that it feels like Raimi wants each one of them to have a fleshed out arc.
    >Understands the core of the character and makes that the heart of the movie rather than empty page-to-screen references and adaptation.
    >The cast is terrific
    >The shifting tones (comedy to horror to romance to action to drama to comedy, etc) is expertly handled and feels organic
    >VINDICATED I AM SELFISH I AM WRONG

Is Spider-Man 3 the Heat of Spider-Man movies?

      >Understands the core of the character and makes that the heart of the movie rather than empty page-to-screen references and adaptation.
Hmm I'm not sure if this is an accurate take but the last part really rings true because Homecoming had a certain reference and Across the Spider-Verse also had a brief reference of the same thing. Felt empty and too eye winking especially since the original comics scene they referenced was so much better

      Good post anon

I think it's a real testament to these movies too that when I think of each of them, many of the best scenes aren't even superhero related

    Spider-Man
    >The thanksgiving scene
    >The school field trip
    >"I missed him a lot today"
    >Uncle Ben's death from the wrestling rip-off onward
    >Norman talking to himself
    >The funeral scene at the end
    >Any scene at the Daily Bugle

    Spider-Man 2
    >Peter's Birthday party
    >Subsequent scene where Aunt May forces him to take the $20
    >Peter having a meal with Otto and his wife
    >Peter asking MJ out after he's quit "Punch me I bleed"
    >Raindrops sequence
    >Telling Aunt May the Truth sequence
    >I believe there's a hero in all of us
    >Chocolate Cake
    >Any scene at the Daily Bugle

    Spider-Man 3
    >THIS MAN KILLED MY UNCLE!
    >Peter's embarrassingly arrogant display and life shatteringly bad night trying to propose to MJ
    >Any scene of Black suit Peter dancing
    >"Give me some of that web action!"
    >Harry's death
    >Any scene at the Daily Bugle

I play the pinball table once a week at my local. Every line from the movie is memorable and well acted. Major blockbuster movies just aren't like this anymore except Avatar: Way of the Water

just binge a bunch of youtube videos until you've pretty much seen all the movies but not quite enough to keep you from wanting to watch them so you decide to watch them in full starting with the second since that's considered the best one, then the first which is actually the best one, and then the third which gets too much hate.

focus on down to earth problems, family and relationship drama.
the superhero stuff really is just the cherry on top but the true soul is about peter struggling to balance his real life and hero responsibilities. it is no excuse that he has a personal connection to all the characters even before they become super villains.
also good mix of cgi and real shoots compared to modern movies were almost everything, even just people talking in a empty room is cgi.

These movies are ALMOST perfect. They just need to fix a few things.
    >kill off a fricking prostitute named MJ
    >keep a scene where JJJ wears Spider-Man suit
    >3rd movie was a mistake on many levels

I think Raimi is really good at using practical effects and creating iconic and unique scenarios. His Spiderman movies only used CGI when absolutely necessary.

Somehow Raimi balances drama and comedy like no other superhero movie.
I don't know how he did it.
