Yeah that's the thing people overlook. Spidey punches below his weight class on a normal day because he's constantly looking out for the little guy. The super villains the pop up in between would be a huge problem without him.

I still find it weird that someone who can lift skyscrapers struggles with the same enemies as Daredevil

Like who, Kingpin? Fisk is not really a bad guy you can punch away. Dude has everyone in his pocket. You got guys made out of the elements, a gamma, and freaks wearing the latest in tech weaponry. Spidey does okay.

          Rhino's basically a shittier Juggernaut.

Juggernaut is fueled by some bullshit god of destruction. That's not a crack against Rhino

The only DD villains there is Mary The Hand (which I think Matt stole from Wolverine) and you're just showing how much Daredevil piggybacks off Spidey's stuff. But to demonstrate how OP those guys are
              >Unbreakable skin akin to Luke Cage
              >Vibranium skull and later full skeleton
              >Cyborg

This. The idea had always been that Peter was holding back against non-powered opponents so he didn't accidentally kill them. That moron Slott tried to turn it into "he's ALWAYS holding back and could one-shot his entire rogues gallery if he wanted to" by doing this to Scorpion, a guy whose whole deal is being stronger than Spider-Man. And this moron stayed on the book for so long he basically defined modern Spider-Man comics.

            Anonymous

Slott is completely full of shit if he thinks Peter was holding back all the time. He puts 100% into beating Norman's ass when he's at peak anger and that's the only thing to really stop Norman, who can usually take his punches fairly easily.

What about the time Peter slapped Kingpin's shit? Is that better?

              Anonymous

Technically yes, even though it ended the appeal of Kingpin being the IT'S ALL MUSCLE fatguy who could fight superheroes and sometimes win.

                >Technically yes

                The best kind of yes.

                >even though it ended the appeal of Kingpin being the IT'S ALL MUSCLE fatguy who could fight superheroes and sometimes win.

He usually throws down with the likes of Daredevil and Punisher. At the end of the day, Kingpin is just a guy with a lot of money and power. Peter himself points out that Fisk can't fly, or crawl on walls, or shoot fire. He needed that whooping to remind him where exactly he stands on the pecking order, and that the fat bastard doesn't really stand a chance against someone who throws down with guys made of sand, or electricity, or pure unadulterated batshit crazy.

Yeah, because really, what can Kingpin do to him one on one? This guy can handle gangs of normal folk, flip train cars with a slap, what the hell is one guy supposed to do against that? Even one built like Kingpin.

He was on the book for over 8 years, there are people who've probably never read pre-Slott Spider-Man. He had years to keep doing things until people accepted them as the norm.
            >Spider-Man is always holding back and could drop any of his villains with one punch
            >Everyone hates Spider-Man
            >Everything always goes wrong for Peter, he's constantly complaining about "Parker Luck"
All of this is accepted as fact now, and it's all Slott's fault.

My personal favorite is the one where he's dancing around and clocking Titania. One of Spider-Man's biggest things is he's incredibly agile for someone who's only really outpunched by mega heavy hitters like the Hulk.

That's bullshit. When Scorpion was introduced, he was explicitly stated to be Spider-man equal or possibly stronger.

Hadn't thought about it but it's fitting that Spider-man who can operate at Avengers level but chooses to stick to the streets most of the time because he values the everyman has a rouges gallery with a lot of characters who could be world level threats but are either so petty or so unambitious that they usually stick to the streets.

I fricking love it when someone tries to fight a different heroes rogues gallery, and slowly realize just how much deep shit they got themselves in.

This happens a lot with spidey villains since they often think that if Spidey is a “joke” then so are his villains lmfao.

Kinda like when people think they're tough shit taking on The Rogues for example. Remember Rogues Revenge when some wannabes who bought copies of their gear thought they could be the new Rogues? Didn't pan out well.

        >that time Venom attacked Stark HQ just because Eddie thought Tony is a douche who needed to be taken down a peg.
Actual context was that during the time Tony's company was taken over by a villain, that guy got up to a lot of illegal or unethical things and it all got made public by someone Tony fired, who made it look like it was all his fault.

Come to think of it, since most of Mysterio's illusions are vision-based, wouldn't Daredevil be a natural counter?

Yeah, but he'd still need to deal with the robots.

Been there, done that. Mysterio tried to drive Daredevil insane one time. Beck was dying from cancer caused by his own smoke machine, paid Kingpin to know ALL of the dirty deets about Matt Murdock, and what happened? Daredevil called Beck a unoriginal hack, and Mysterio blew his own brains out

You downplay just how fricked up all that made Matt. He even went to Dr. Strange for help because Mysterio was fricking with his head so badly. Plus, getting caught was part of his plan.

Oh please. It was the last desperate act of a dying man who couldn't get revenge against Peter, so he opted for Daredevil because Beck thought he was "second rate" just like he had become. The real winner here was Bullseye killing Karen

          Christ Mysterio's fricking massive.

Spiderman has easily the best rogue's gallery from Marvel. Batman has the best rogue's gallery overall.

Although they been trying to ruin Batman's rogue's galery for ages now. He straight up doesn't have a female villain anymore because DC thinks females can't be evil.

Logan and Venom are funny together, this, the Tooth and Claw team up, the Marvel Comics Presents, and Exit Wounds, at no point in any of them do they bring up past encounters, it's just "Oh hey it's you"
Carnage on the other hand is 3-0 with Wolverine.
He's beaten him in Spider-Man/X-men # 3, Carnage U.S.A. and in Absolute Carnage.
