The first half of the movie could be axed. It's only good once they get to Mumbattan.

Yeah, lets ignore all the character development. ACTION, ACTION, ACTION, I don't want my brain to stop and think about the plot, ACTION!

I know, I know, when your brain is starving for ACTION, ACTION, ACTION it's easy to miss that in the non action scenes characters talk and develope.

Literally the only bit of development in this movie was finding out Miles isn't fine with letting his dad die while every other Spider-Man is, and then that several of those understand that maybe letting people die is bad after having Miles teach them that lesson, the rest was spinning wheels to pad out the movie so they can split it into two to cash out

Ah yes, let's ignore everything Gwen related. Nothing important happened there.

What development did she have except realizing maybe she shouldn't let Miles' dad die

                >What development did she have except realizing maybe she shouldn't let Miles' dad die

                >Gwens entire motivation for what she does in the movie happens in the first 15 minutes of the movie

                >dur hur what development herp derp

Yep, no development, just a contrived plot device to get a solution for Miles, zero actual development for Gwen, and lots of character regression for George

This is a correct statement. The only thing accomplished by Gwen's "arc" is that it's the one thing gays can point to when people accurately point out that the movie doesn't have an ending

You're right, they could've cut out Gwen's boring, emotional moments from the movie and nothing of value would've been lost

Yeah, pretty much. The entire movie was eh, like the setup was too long. They really should have focused on the Spider Society more.

The entire movie felt like a set-up for the third film and that made it feel very typical and mcu-esque

Second one was NOT FRICKING COMPLETE. Third might save it.

The first one was a lot more coherent but that Kingpin design was very silly

The first one was fundamentally better because the multiverse shit was just an excuse to bring the cast together and nothing more, rather than being the focal point of the entire movie like in the sequel
