Spiderpunk/ Hobbie Brown's design is 100% inspired by Zillakami

Zillakami is one of the most popular Punk/Rap artist among Black zoomers. Wears huge dreads, has nose rings, piercings, grills, and his rap is close to Metal/Punk music. Literally Hobbie.

And not to mention his girlfriend... A short haired altgirl who dyes her hair of a different color than her original color, has pretty much skater rocker girl vibes... Like a certain huh.... Gwen Stacy as she's presented in Spider verse 2. If Hobbie genuinely had "an affair" with Gwen, everything between Hobbie & Zillakami checks out.

You know Afro-Punk as a subculture has been around since the 70s, right? Way bigger than your trapped out zoomer nu-metal act

The problem is that you're hyper focusing on zoomers when Hobie in Across is based on the 70s british punk aesthetic.
Like I said in [...] he looks way more like 70s british punk DJ Don Letts. Note the shape of nose and the lack of face tattoos?

Except that Hobbie was created in 2015. Aka, in the middle of the age of Experimental shit from Soundcloud like Cloud Rap, the whole Punk Rap zoomer stuff that Kami is from (and other guys like Lil Peep, Lil Xan, Juice Wrld, Uzi Vert and other drug addicts rappers were getting EXTREMELY big in music. It'd make more sense that Hobbie is based on that trend, than something far way back, when he didn't even exist in the 70s.

I was assuming more Basquiat vibes, I'm a boomer so I don't know if there was a big resurgance of zoomers trying to cop his dreads but I know Jay Z and I think FlyLo tried it out for a minute.

Hobie just had a small fro and gheri curl in the comics. This design is totally new like Peni being a moe blob instead of a vaguely anime-ish young woman.

That looks nothing like Hobie but this is Cinemaphile so I don't blame you for not being able to tell black people apart.

      >has the very same characteristics/features as that one popular punk rap zoomer rapper besides being black
      >oh no this looks nothing like Hobbie!
you're moronic. Hobbie in the comics doesn't even look like the way he is in the movie, yet here, he has that very specific look that Kami has. Don't be stupid.

    >Spider-Punk doesn’t have an introduction, he interrupts the film, and kind of kicks the door in. The big thing for us was capturing the essence and eccentricities of the ‘70s punk scene in London.

    >We went back to the raw materials that were being used. We had our artists create newspapers. I had a chance to go to London and take tons of photos. We were cutting them up using razor blades, scissors and taping them back together so that they looked like a setlist, a zine or a punk poster.

    >We looked at the Sex Pistols, the Buzzwieners and My Chemical Romance. Those actual poster color combinations all show up on Spider-Punk but within his world.
