"Spiderverse" Director Peter Ramsey Slams Bob Iger And Kevin Feige Over "The Marvels"

>Ramsey derided Iger's recent comments that The Marvels' box-office woes stemmed from a lack of supervision. Calling the comment "Astounding level of bullshit," he addressed a commenter who suggested that Iger was right and that Marvel boss Kevin Feige was stretched too thin, saying, "Sorry, that’s just silly. Nothing happens on those movies without lots of scrutiny from Feige and co. Marvel’s issues seem to go deeper than that." He added that Iger "has to sound like he's got an answer," and came to director Nia DaCosta's defense when he added, "How do you know that it wasn’t 'supervision' that caused what you don’t like about it?"

            Anonymous

Not only that, they have to be purposefully referencing we wuz, they might have even though they were reversing the meaning, like they were trying to own the racists or something. That's failed miserably, but it's still too funny for me to totally hate. I also think Majors is more talented than he's given credit for here, he's never gonna win an Oscar but he's better than most of who they cast.

Kang is a white man who wears a helmet. That's like saying a black Spider-Man would be fine because he's usually red and blue.

Why they led with this stupid bizarre weirdo bullshit and not Xmen and F4 and the others they'd spent frickin years accumulating the rights for is frickin beyond me and always will be. Mutants showing up after the snap wouldve been the easiest way to get people invested. Instead we got the Kree and the Skrulls. What the frick were they thinking?

the entirety of the xmen, avengers, AND ff4 going up against doom wouldve been sooooooooooo bad ass

            >Mutants showing up after the snap wouldve been the easiest way to get people invested.
That's where all the theories were heading back in WandaVision with her reality bending abilities. Everyone thought they were going to do a reverse of the "No more mutants".

no ONE wants kang, especially a race swapped one

EVERYONE wanted doom to be the next big bad

and it makes sense as well

It amazes me that they've established the fact that variants can not only be a different gender but also a completely different physical appearance but they're hellbent on keeping Majors as Kang. They could easily have other actors playing Kang.

It doesnt matter what you want. Get ready to be subverted and given Kang for 6 years. They know you will still watch it because you are moronic cattle that lines their pockets. Now clap and cheer at the nogs!

He's right. They're trying to throw DaCosta under the bus by saying that Kevin Feige is spread too thin and couldn't supervise the movie. However, we all know how deep the handholding and steering from Disney has been all the way back to Incredible Hulk. He's basically saying that the supervision that Marvel has over its directors is what has been causing the issues within Marvel. They never point the finger at Feige but everyone is always quick to jump on the actors or directors for any mishaps when the fact is, a lot of the time they're just there to direct a movie they barely have control over. I mean, frick, Taika Waititi had enough pull to do whatever he wanted but Love & Thunder ended up being shit because he had nothing but contempt for Thor and only wanted a paycheck even though he probably had a lot of freedom. So unless you're at the level of say Russo Brothers or someone like Taika you don't really get a say. It honestly makes it seem that the MCU up to Endgame was just sheer luck and even to that point the cracks were starting to widen.

He's also right on Iger, anytime one of the movies does badly at Disney, he comes out and says the same shit then fricks off.

      >He's also right on Iger, anytime one of the movies does badly at Disney, he comes out and says the same shit then fricks off.

      >They're trying to throw DaCosta under the bus by saying that Kevin Feige is spread too thin and couldn't supervise the movie.

That's a huge leap to make, when Feige is known to supervise every single Marvel movie. It just feels like taking a potshot at Marvel has become a low-hanging fruit for any creative trying to get some attention and reaffirm himself as an artiste.

It isn't feige's fault and you know it. After endgame

      >everyone is always quick to jump on the actors or directors for any mishaps
I don't mean to take blame from the writers and producers, but Brie Larson picking a fight with White men (the core comic-loving group) definitely contributed to the lack of interest in this movie. Putting Captain "I don't want to know what men think" front and center of a comic book movie is like having Andrew Tate be the next The Bachelor.

        Anonymous

No-one cares about Brie Larson, no-one has ever cared about Brie fricking Larson. If the movie was entertaining and had an engaging plot no-one would even reflect on "wow this Brie Larson chick might be a bit rude", why do you keep insisting on that being an issue? Micro-managed directors, movies going into production with half-done scripts that get changed on the fly because Feige can't keep his hands off the production line are a lot bigger issues in this shared universe bullshit.
