Of all the popular anime shows, bebop is really one of the least over the top, its mostly a neo-noir action show which could have been done really well in live action. Aside from a few episodes like the clown one, cowboy andy, and maybe the mushroom trip, there wasnt anything too crazy going on.
Their problem with "adapting" this into live action is they decided to change from a neo-noir theme into a fricking millenial quipfest with crazy over the top characters, completely destroying the setting. If theyd just shot-for-shot remade the anime, they wouldnt have had any problems.

I watched this like a full year after it came out, and ironically and against all odds there was a part of me that actually wished it would continue, but no, absolutely not with this interpretation of Ed ever, so I'm glad it didn't.
