>maulder asks why
>...cuz.... and you cant know either
>youre punished now!
>i want to believe, scully
Whats the point of sending out the xfiles if theyre not supposed to discover shit. Especially shit that the top dog already knows about?
They expected Scully to be one of them and handle him and misdirect him at first.
I guess they can't outright kill him? Or he had some use? I don't know. He was a criminal profiler, but he stopped doing that to chase ayys. Not sure what they got out of him.
Im sure its a Gilligans island dilemma of story telling. That once Maulder gets an Ayy and disclosure happens then there no need for the xfiles (aside from the werewolf/vampire/ghost plots) I know its not real but this shows formula is starting to piss me off. I just got done with the 1st season over the weekend. And I remember the seasons getting more bizarre and morose as they go on.
He's just a way to keep things contained, and a lot of X-Files cases have nothing to do with government coverups anyway. You might ask, "if that's true why even bother having a unique division at all?" but it's made clear over and over again that their resources as a "department" are pretty embarrassing. His office is in a ratty basement. To the extent it gives him something else to fixate on it, it's useful. It's their way of controlling the opposition.
but if mulder brought in one, just one piece of evidence from a worm man or killer trees he'd be the most famous man in the world and get unlimited funding.
Yeah but that never happens so it's fine.
People say this is a bisexual conversion show but I think I’m going full gay. Redhead isn’t ugly but she isn’t exactly doing anything for my dick either.
She somehow got hotter as a milf.
Greentext amused me. Have a (you).
reminder that they never had an episode on gnomes because the CIA wouldn't allow it
Goddamnit.
Believable.
Just release the spooky shit already.
I know American Football when I see it. Good taste, anon
they never had a proper bigfoot episode either
>forgetting the Booba Bigfoot episode
that was such an awful episode it's unreal
absolutely zero jersey devil lore and was a shit feral person episode
so neither sasquatch nor jersey devil and one the worst written episodes there are
The first season had some serious stinkers.
the moron hacking the airplane turbine to kill that scientist was hilarious.
1st season has been weak, yes. But mulder almost got laid if he didnt get up for a closer look. Hr should have enjoyed the fermented hairy snu snu and then brag to skinner about it.
>No, don't suck my dick, Jersey Devil!
>No! Nooooooooooooo...!
>1st season has been weak, yes.
There are still some great ones. But I think when you add it all up it's one of the show's weakest seasons, though it's obviously still better than seasons 7 or 9.
>coverup requires 500+ people with many of them logically needing to be government contractors
>mulder gets mad about the government having alien technology despite the fact that merely having alien tech isn't really that sinister by itself
I tried watching this shit and it was absolute garbage. Nothing is ever revealed, there is no progress in any of their investigations. The most you get is a vague hint in the direction of a conspiracy, but Mulder is just kidnapped by government thugs and roughed up a bit, and nothing gets resolved. I don't get the appeal.
Mulder and scully eventually have a kid in the revival show. I think theres more power in keeping things mysterious. But youre right, ifs frustrating that theres no tangible growth. Its a monster of the week show with buddy cop lukewarm sexual tension. Mulder is a israelite btw
I understand why they wrote the show that way. I'm just saying it makes for a terrible.viewing experience. If I wanted momentumless tv I'd watch a sitcom.
It's an episodic show, friend. Even the mytharc is more episodic than the categorizing makes it seem.
Kind of seems like you're just repeating the same thing over and over again. The show is dogshit, excuses aside.
I'd like to see what you think of The Prisoner.
Mulders crusade is publicly known, he has people rooting for him both inside the bureau and outside it, by killing him it would legitimize his claims and create more problems for the shadow organization Mulder is trying to expose so their best bet is to discredit him or steer him wrong, which is initially Scully's task. Later they blackmail others in the bureau to discredit Mulder.
The other reason they don't outright shut down the xfiles initially is because by funneling the paranormal cases to just one tiny office they can more easily manipulate and control the flow of information and track Mulders investigations, in the later seasons they basically reveal that everything is wiretapped and being spied on in the office.
the office? Xfiles style?
>ghosts and mutants are everywhere and always have been
>yet somehow people aren't predisposed to believe they're real
>people aren't predisposed to believe they're real
pretty recent development
I thought it, you said it.
I can't remember any X-Files episodes with ghosts. I'm sure there were some but I don't remember any.
There's that great Christmas episode with the ghosts
Oh yeah, that one was good.
there were only a few that were played completely straight.
I dont know why this shot felt so eerie and accurate. Wormtongue was fantastic in this episode
How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, pretty good one.
ghost rape episode in retirement home
Man, this scene when they drag the nurse or doctor out scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.
did they kill him? I always roll my eyes when tv shows allow ghosts to kill people
I don't think so, they drag him/her away and that's it. Then the thing gets resolved when the guy manifesting the ghosts dies.
She was supposed to sex him and marry him to forget this alien nonsense. But it back fired because the spooks are real.
Where can I get a Scully gf too to make me forget my autistic hobbies?
