    You sound scared
Is everyone born after the year 2004 under the impression that time itself began with their birth? I'm starting to think that's the case

So... you thought that was funny? How his battlecry is "spoon"? Was "lol so RANDOM xd" a big thing in your household?

A free soul with every signup was a special that ran from Alpha 1.0 to the 2002 update
After the 9/11 story event and subsequent raids and PvP battles, the devs could no longer afford to personally gift the item to every new player so they scrapped the promotion

It was a big thing nationwide
Back in the lasted 90s, you could bring down the house with the right combination of
        >monkey
        >pirate
        >ninja
        >spork
        >banana

You're so savvy and advanced that you don't find this funny. What primitive times they were before your birth, as the protagonist of the universe.

Back then when everyone was so non familiar with the ridiculousness of alternative works, the idea of a powerful hero being so bad that he could not think of a catchphrase and just resorted to the first thing he saw was amusing, yes.

For your zoomer brain it would be the equivalent of a hero being edgy in an "ironic" way and whenever he gets called out he would say "Its just a bit"

I was a teenager when this first aired. I'm asking if you thought this was actually "funny". For some reason you're trying to turn this into some sort of misplaced generational warfare? A bit pathological if you ask me.

Why would you type like that, this is text, why add stutters?

You found it amusing?, if so, theres your answer

You should name some things you find funny. Humor is subjective. Give us a baseline.

As far as Cinemaphile material goes, the first four seasons of the Venture Brothers and the first two seasons of Archer are high on my genuine comedy list. For shows contemporary to The Tick, there isn't much that's actually "funny"... it's mostly just content that existed so children would stick around for the toy and cereal commercials. My favorite pre-9/11 cartoons are Galaxy Rangers and Conan the Adventurer, but while they have some humorous moments they're more adventure series than outright comedy. 90s comedy... well of course mentioning golden age Simpsons just seems pointlessly obvious. Beavis and Butthead I suppose? Mike Judge is a wizard, a show as predictably stupid as that shouldn't have actually been *funny*, but it was. King of the Hill was a different story, it's more of a smirking humor than a laugh-out-loud. The Critic had some fun moments but ironically that one DOES stray into "so random" territory from time to time, unfortunate.

It is absolutely baffling that you can like the first four seasons of Venture Bros and not enjoy The Tick when Publick's writing style didn't change at all between the two.

That's because OP is trying to do tryhard contrarianism like he used to on Cinemaphile back in the 00s.

Remember that post from Cinemaphile? The one that went something like "progress must be hard to fathom for a generation that saw nothing but stagnation"? Even those of us who didn't personally like this joke, or hell even found it funny, can still conceptualize HOW or WHY someone else might find it funny
      Underages struggle with this

This is why boomer humor confuses them so much, this is why whenever they see a "dad I can't click book" joke, they always say the same thing-" haha, boomers LITERALLY thought kids ACTIVELY, PHYSICALLY click books. Like, actually click them with their fingers. Grandpa actually thinks they literally do this, what a moron."
Of course grandpa doesn't literally think that, it's hyperbole, you may not find it funny, but you can understand why grandpa would- there's a play on a common observation, and the artist is taking it to a logical extreme. I don't think It's funny, but I can understand why it would be funny, and if you can't, you might genuinely be challenged

I am almost certainly older than you. And no one has gone to greater lengths than me to dissect and examine the problem of the current generation to recognize meaning and emotional context inherent to a work. That's neither here nor there.

I'm asking if you found it funny.

Not even an argument. It must come as a shock to you that you can't just "win an internet fight" by trying to blame it on "zoomers".

What's appealing to you about The Tick? The "spoon" thing isn't even a one-off. The episode I just watched had like four or five separate incidents of "random word salad" used in place of humor.
