STAR TREK 14 PLOT DETAILS

Earlier this month, development on Star Trek 14 started internally. Warner Bros. want Terry Matalas to have full creative control. Paramount has arranged story meetings for the creatives involved in the Star Trek franchise and they’re pushing for Sonequa Martin-Green to be the main lead.
Various Star Trek writers have presented several ideas, but there’s a consensus on the main set-up.
>the movie is set primarily in the late 24th century, specifically 2384
>characters from all current shows join forces to defeat an old threat
>they receive aid from legacy characters from across 60 years of Star Trek
However, each writer has presented their own pitch.
>Matalas: the movie is centered around Riker and the USS Titan. The plot involves the invasion of the galaxy by the Iconians. Matalas wants more emphasis on legacy characters such as Janeway, as well as nods to Star Trek Online lore. The movie would be titled ‘Star Trek Legacy’.
>Kurtzman: Captain Michael Burnham of the USS Discovery follows a powerful reality-bending foe into the past using its spore drive and ends up in the 24th century.
>McMahan: the return of the aliens from TNG’s Conspiracy. McMahan’s ideas build mostly on Matalas’ premise but emphasize a more irreverent tone. He also suggested a new character, Runa Voke, a female alien bounty hunter who first discovers the aliens’ scheme, joins Starfleet and becomes a love interest to Tawny Newsome’s character.
Jenny Lumet and Aaron Waltke were also present during the meeting but have not pitched any ideas.

No they're not. They're considering a merger but nothing is official and they have literally nothing to do with Paramount.

Are you insinuating that someone would go into an anonymous Moldovan tinsmithing forum and tell tall tales?
Who would do such a thing?

    >SNW
so bad they had to resort to gimmicks like musicals and crossing over with a fricking parody cartoon
    >PRO

      For real.
The only thing the new Star Trek writers can do is parody and high school musical shit.
The best compliment I can give SNW is that is just decent while PIC and STD are actively terrible television.

Tarantino co-wrote a Trek 14 script. Based on a Piece of the Action. It would've been the best Trek film. And we will never see it.

The best thing they could do for a new Star Trek movie is actually a brand new story with entirely new characters on a new 5 year mission - and the energy and optimism of TOS/TNG. Set it unbound by current lore in the 25th century. Ignore disco and any other timeline shenanigans from past series. But they won't. It'll be Kirk, Spock etc same old same old flashy reboot garbage

A movie is a terrible place to be introducing new characters.
The way the franchise always worked is that the shows set the groundwork, and then the movies were these big special effects extravaganzas, where the audience got to reunite with the characters they knew from the show.
The problem at this point, is the last show that really had any cultural relevancy was Voyager, and even that was longer ago than I want to think about and the cast are getting on the older side.

I guess the wise thing to do would be to focus on Picard's son from Picard S3(which I hear was okay), as the main character, and then a cross section of legacy characters like, I dunno, Worf, Julian Bashir, Seven of Nine, and a hologram of Captain Archer just kind of hanging out, and give Shatner something small to do while he's still alive.

The Discovery gets destroyed and the entire crew dies in the first scene. The rest of the movie is a who-dunnit crime drama set in the Star Trek universe.
Throughout the story, some of the non-white and angry female characters get killed by the bad guy, because they got too close to the truth.
The bad guy is a an ugly, openly gas, black, trans-woman with a missing arm who is just a red-shirt and only got into Starfleet because her drug addicted parents faked some papers for him. He got mad at the crew of the discovery because he felt that their constant complaining about him was somehow racially motivated, even though, in reality, he was just an incompetent butthole.

Admiral Jonathan Archer launches the NEW USS Enterprise NCC-1701 under the command of Captain Robert April. The maiden voyage is interrupted by the Temporal Cold War.

Different points in time and we finally see NCC-1701-J. The Temporal Cold War erases all Star Trek from 2009 onwards.

Brah WB has no say in anything Paramount does until the check clears unless the film is going to be a coproduction.

    >Kurtzman: Captain Michael
    I'm out.

Trek is now paralyzed by the same shit killing Star Wars, this obsession with rehashing the same few characters over and over again. Why write a series that's new and could fall when you could just pump out more fan-service turds. It's like the current producers know how shit their writing is. And now they're just tearing pages out of Marvel's book.

Star Wars got killed by directors and writers not truly understanding why people enjoyed those movies beyond the surface level elements.
