    >Star Trek Reboot
I would almost be okay with that if they just redid Enterprise.

They won't. It's going to be ToS but Spock and Kirk are fricking and also Kirk is black.

      Frick off its perfect.
What they should do is de-canonize STD, SNW, Hispanic, Pickle Trek and Prodigy and make a real Voyager-sequel episodic series

Hispanic is forcing a meme but STD was consistent with decades of naming conventions.

Then the one with Sisko was STD first.

None of the others has ST in them. DIS would be consistent.

I mean they have the easy out of making everything NuTrek another alternate universe like Kelvin which already established a recasting as another universe. That said they've already spent so much money and ego taking things in this new direction and haven't seemed to give a damn so far about all the contradictions and canon that was fricked up. I can't see them changing course now, the "reboot" is probably just another new series that will try not to reference the worst of what DISCO Trek did to split the fan-base.

        No?

Enterprise had it's moments but it wasted a lot of the potential with it's awful first few seasons. If you are going to reboot Star Trek, getting second chance for that is basically the only advantage,.

It's going to take a while to get the rebooted universe up and running. We can expect LD and SNW to run until at least 2027 until everything comes to a close for the rebooted stuff. Hell, the Georgiou movie and Starfleet Academy show still have a shot within that timeframe.

They really need to just let Star Trek lie fallow for a decade or so and then bring in writers who have more of a background than "i just graduated from film school and watched a lot of TV and movies". Get some writers who have lived a bit. Gone to war, know what it's like to live on a ship, moved to Paris for a while, reared a family, something besides checking diversity boxes and want to make Star Trek into a soap opera full of feelings.

it will be a israelited up mess too

what *star trek* should be is this
    >set 300 years after Next Generation/DS9
    >galaxy is now "united", the borg are now "organic machine" evolution and in benign symbiosis with the fed, (like Battlestar) acting as their living 'computer system'
    >data is still alive
    >all the other races of the milky-way galaxy including DS9 races etc. are in alliance, and can all leverage their unique strengths together
    >time to go where no one has gone before, a new galaxy, with the new enterprise, that has a new propulsion system
    >never bring up earth politics of the 2020's ever again
and you have a *hit show*

    its that easy

ds9 ends with self-replicating replicators. even 50 years after that the federation would be trying to figure out how to expand to other galaxies because they explored this one completely.

No I was just making a funny genius. But the first one I posted was a reference to the Mad Men script that Paul writes and tries to give to Harry, a pathetically on-the-nose metaphor for segregation that everyone laughs at which incidentally sounds like how nuTrek writes its political analogies

Fricking stupid. They should literally just return to the aesthetics of the TNG through Voyager era, and pretend nothing else happened. That's what people actually want. Not to return to year zero and do Kirk again.
The fact that Lower Decks actually looking like a Star Trek show, and having the right kinds of callbacks to things people like, helped it build up a degree of popularity should tell you everything. it didn't even have to be a particularly good show.
