Why didn't they just glue some shit onto it?
they did glue the back of mp40 to it but you can barely notice
Thats not what they did. They just took the dust cover off and shoved a painted pvc pipe inside. They also glued a plate to the side, presumably to cover up the arsenal/manufacturers mark. Unfortunately they missed the point of using real guns as props, and that is to break up the silhouette.
>Unfortunately they missed the point of using real guns as props, and that is to break up the silhouette.
?
Seems like you missed the point too
I'm just curious of what you mean by that
Props based on real world guns should be modified to the point where they're not immediately identifiable as the guns they're based on, for this example the main issue is that they left the magazine in so that everybody who's seen an AK before is able to immediately recognise it as one.
The difference is that the AK is probaby the single most recogniseable weapon on the planet, so you need to put more effort into modifying it compared to a more obscure weapon like the Lewis gun.
Which one?
Lol, a fictional character's gun next to an historical figure's gun. Churchill wasn't real.
Hi Rob.
You have repeated this exact same thread multiple times over
most of the classic Star Wars blasters that weren't military issue were slightly modified props of iconic small arms. also bullet firearms are canon as "slug-throwers" for a long time. considering the AK-47 is a ubiquitous and intuitive rifle design it's really not so egregious. though they should have modded the furniture a bit more, I would have popped off the selector switch, that's a bit too much
>>sir, we've run out of blaster props
You mean MG-42 without magazine?
b***h looks like sean penn
>Just take the magazine out of the Lewis Gun bro
>Just cut the barrel off the Lee-Enfield and stick the rifle grenade cup in the hole bro
>Just bolt a scope to a Mauser C96 bro
>Just glue an AR-15 and STG-44 together bro
It's fricking Star Wars. The AK-47 is just as old as the WW2 weapons that have been part of its prop identity from the beginning.
The funny thing is Andor actually had a lot more effort put into its production design than most genre shows, and certainly more than anything else Lucasfilm's put out on Disney+. But somehow the gun makes it bad.
Thats okay anon, you don't have to like it.
did anyone play the Star Wars Battlefront 2 singleplayer campaign? it's pretty fun
>Remove magazine
>Actually paint it black instead of that moronic shit
>Glue some crap on it
Why is Hollywood a bunch of lazy Black folk these days?
Wouldn’t an AK be more expensive than a blaster prop?
there are more aks in the world than blaster props.
There are also more working cars than blaster props you dumb homosexual
It's probably an airsoft AK, those are very cheap and ubiquitous. Some shows have even used Nerf guns.
Does Terra Nova get better after three or four episodes? I was annoyed by the constant drama.
No. It remained utter dogshit.
Good riddance.
Not really. It could have gotten better if it wasn’t cancelled and had more dinosaurs.
If you don't care about it actually functioning as a rifle it wouldn't be that expensive.
give it a straight mag and paint the furniture not-wood-color and they would have gotten away with it, why the frick couldn't they even do that
Do we have a Star Wars legends book/comics 'library'?
