Ive never watched clone wars the animated series and I have a passing interest in Star Shit stuff.

This latest episode felt like a cartoon.

This was moronic. I like Filoni's shows but he always takes things too far, like this and the lightsaber helicopters in Rebels

    >On April 28, 2018, Finley alleges that the family worked together to assault him. Isabel Dawson, Rosario’s mother, allegedly dragged Finley by his arm out of a window and then attacked him.

    >“Once Mr. Finley was lying helpless on the ground outside, Isabel, who is substantially larger than Mr. Finley, got on top of Mr. Finley’s body and began punching him,” the suit states. “While beating Mr. Finley, Isabel screamed, ‘You’re not so much of a man now,’ which was a clear and denigrating reference to Mr. Finley’s gender identity.”

It's pretty meh. I guess you could interpret some scenes as woke, though this isn't necessarily what kills it. The plot is both slow and stupid resulting in an overall feeling of wasted time. It feels like what you'd get if you had a toddler direct a Kurosawa film. Many meaningless memberberries moments interspersed throughout to make youtubers create clickbait advertisement. It's unfortunately soulless. I thought David Falafel would have cared more about his own toys.

It's very bad in almost every respect. I don't get off on hating these Star Wars shows, but Ahsoka is another amateur production by a bunch of people who don't know how to make interesting TV, or even how to make film in general.

I actually liked it. You have to skip some parts because they are pointless and boring but once you serf through the filler it's pretty good.

Parts of it are good (Baylan and Shin).

Parts of it are bad (Ahsoka being a one-note arms folded platitude dispenser), Sabine being very generic.

When Mon Mothma is onscreen, the vast talent gulf between the Andor writers and Filoni is painfully apparent.

His concern is with the nature of something, probably something fundamental, so I don't see it being about destroying everything in a merely material way.

its alright but for some reason they're giving ahsoka almost nothing to say.

everyone else in the show has plenty of dialogue, some of it okay, some of it less so, but ahsoka feels like they threw out her script at the last minute and just told dawson to make up some jedi sounding lines. her attitude and lines feel nothing like the actual character ahsoka, and arguably doesnt even feel like a person

her dialogue is more robotic than her droid copilot. and to be clear, i dont think thats dawsons fault. i think she's being given nothing to work with, like they spent so much time on the other characters in the show that they forgot to write for the title character

If I remember right, Ahsoka was kind of flat in Rebels too when she wasn’t freaking out over Anakin. Now she’s even more subdued due to live action being less emotive than animation.

its was getting good, but the last episode made it so clear. Its just cartoon tier storytelling with a big budget. its a cartoon.

      >feels like Youtube fanfiction
      so much this, sadly.

back in the 80s Star Wars stood for cutting edge spared no expense kino. Today it could be the highest quality oscar winning cutting edge kino ever made, but no. Disney just pushed the slop through the pipeline and justy wanted immediate returns on the investment. its a tragedy.

The fights look like if the actors learned the choreography 5 hours before filming.

Everyone is moving fricking slow and posing dramatically, choreography makes no sense as usual with Ahsokas double blades, she has multiple opportunities to kill every enemy she faces with her second lightsaber, but never does.
EVERY freaking fight results in one party just running away/vanishing.

Once in a while its cutting to MEW who has super bad green make-up and is doing boring political stuff.

And then there is Shin, who gets hyped up by every SW shill and is suuuuch an interesting character. Here, have a supercut of all her scenes from the first 3 episodes:

Its mostly her standing around and looking confused.

This show is like jerking off super slowly, to porn that you don't enjoy and then after 30 mins of slomo rubbing you just stop and go away.

Almost every one of these Disney shows (Andor being the only notable exception so far) seem to have the philosophy that if they have one sort-of interesting idea/setpiece, that's enough to fill out 6-10 episodes. It results in all of these shows feeling like they're either spreading that one idea over all the episodes, or just wasting my time until the final episode where they exposition dump everything at once.

7 out of 8 episodes in, aside from "oh no this smart general guy is bad news and we can't have him coming back", the show actually doesn't have a plot or much in the way of character arcs at all. I have barely any understanding of what makes Ahsoka tick, even though the show is named after her. The only character that has an easily discernable arc is Sabine, which is completely predictable but works fine for a simple action show, except they didn't even do the bare minimum of having her do a mea culpa to Ahsoka, which you think would be the obvious thing to do.

Then there's the villains. People keep praising them, but the show has basically given 0 information as to what it is Baylen or Shin want. Maybe some vague lines from Baylen but it's stupid to get to the penultimate episode and I still don't even know wtf he's doing on that planet. Again, see previous point about them having a good idea and then just wasting the audience's time until they get to their big infodump in the overstuffed final episode. People are getting tricked by Ray Stevenson's great screen presence into thinking the character is way more interesting than he actually is.

I don't get how Yidsney had all these great IPs, all this money, a nice platform to make TV shows and they produce nothing but garbage. How is that even possible? Did no one there think about telling smaller stories? Different genres? What about a mystery, or thriller, or horror-lite? You could have done so many interesting things with a quarter of the budget, but it's like it wants to ape jj abrams movies. Not a single real writer or director worked anywhere near these projects. They should all be blacklisted. Shame their strike isn't going to keep going.

This show has three possible fates:
    1. The best thing Disney has put out so far
    >Thrawn utterly pwns the heroes next episode, one hero is killed (Ezra), Baylen dies (and is thus not recast by that pedo Liev Shrieber everyone seems to want)
    2. Extremely mediocre but typical Stor Wors slop
    >Thrawn "wins" by simply escaping to the other galaxy, but doesn't actually win anything, and Ahsoka and the good guys stay behind to deal with Baylen and Shin before trying to find a way back to the galaxy next season
    3. Filoni slop (the worst of all Disney slop)
    >Thrawn acts smart but gets utterly ass-raped by the good guys, pretends he won, the good guys act extremely smug (especially Ahsoka) and give some gay one-liners, Shin turns to the good side and fricks Ezra (because the homosexual Rebels fans want it to happen and want him to be the new Luke Skywalker), Baylen gets recast as the pedo Liev Shcrieber
    Which will it be?

It's incredibly boring and stupid. The quality of Star Wars continues to sink lower and lower, it basically has nothing left of made what everyone love Star Wars to begin with. Shit acting, shit special effects, horrible writing/dialogue/characters, only strong women, bad fight choreography, no coherent aesthetics or designs at all, and continues to utterly rape and ruin Lucas's characters and story.

It's bad. Almost as bad as Kenobi and Mando season 3. About on par with Andor and Boba Fett. Which is to say, all of Disney Wars is sub-4/10 quality soulless trash.

All live action shows are not good. At least Ahsoka tries something exotic and different, and it can be fun. It is the least bad live action show.

Disney should stick to cartoons (unrelated to the ST). They are all better directed, have better cinematography, better lighting, better VFX, better music, better action, better writing and stories, and virtually everything better, and they feel more like Star Wars than any live-action shit not made by George ever will.

      Anonymous

I think Ahsoka has potential to be one of the worst live action shows depending on this final episode. Filoni's "cartoonesque" style of writing really doesn't translate well to live action. He should stick to making kids shows for what they are.
