I don't mind liking a show for children or even a show made for little girls. However, calling yourself a "Brony" and making a big fanbase out of it is mentally ill behaviour. And it's also calling attention to the weirdness deliberately. Rather than just being a person with varied tastes who appreciates how well made or entertaining something is. Fandom is cancer as are the people who engage in it.

The Force Awakens set the entire new trilogy up for failure. There is no reason why the First Order needed to even exist or why there are still rebels when they won the war 40 some odd years ago.

TLJ went out of it's way to undermine the series. It strips out character motivations, removes the big bad, shit's all over Lukes character "No Rey, people can't be saved or redeemed! It's not like I redeemed one of the darkest siths to ever live but it just can't be done!" It somehow makes the scale of the world even smaller (the entire rebel bomber fleet consisted of 8 ships) and it's entire army was like 50 guys. The battle for the galaxy consisted of maybe 100 people when there are planets with trillions of people.
TLJ fricked things up so bad that The Rise of Skywalker was a guarantee failure. They had to come up with completely new character motivations, lore, and Kylos character had to be completely re-written in order to work as an actual character again. Same thing for Rey. She went from "My parents were somebodies" to "My parents were nobodies" back to "I'm a palpatine!" TLJ forced them to go full moronic.
The force awakens was bad but TLJ was an actual attempt to assassinate the series.

Why do people act like this movie why it is bad is one of the deepest darkest movie secrets? They made a script that was just unlikable. That's it, no character is cool, interesting, enjoyable.
I contend there IS a good movie here in fact probably a masterpiece that would have saved the franchise. If they had played up the death of Han a lot more, made Luke hate Rey and treat her like crap at first but Han's death gets force projected into Luke by Rey and he sees it all, this would have been a classic "bitter old master" trope done right.We would have seen Luke lose it for a second yell at Rey to go away and see Lukes emotions all over his face. Then Luke leave his hut in a new resolve to train Rey to help save his remaining friends.
The moral of the story is: don't allow change to turn you so bitter you turn away from what is good in the world, so that you fail to protect the good. And through Rey's growth and experiences, she learns changing into a new way can still mean respecting the old ways and traditions.
People want a Luke that has an edge but never feel that Luke isn't a lovable character, he just went astray and needed someone to help him grow. Its a bit like Mr. Miyagi and Danielsan. Miyagi was a boring dude who spend his life avoiding conflict and working on Bonsai trees until Daniel showed him what is worth fighting for.
All The Last Jedi was missing was a feeling of beautiful character growth. Like even in the infamous case of Holdo, they should have written it like Holdo has a secret and dislikes the pilot dude because he has toxic masculinity and shit. So the payoff is that by doing Holdos orders at a high level of duty and figuring out how to enable Holdo's Trap he then gains a lot of honor and respect from his captain. Its a mirror of the Luke/Rey relationship where the male learns something that duty matters, its not always about going off on your own trying to cause random damage but about being a big asset to your team.
