Status of Nick Live-Action Shows

>The Really Loud House (Expected to be final season due to aging cast)
>Henry Danger TV Movie.
And that's it! There's absolutely nothing else in the pipeline but animation and preschool shows for nick. Their live action division may cease to exist after those projects wrap up.

Why let something live-action get in the way of Spongebob reruns?

They’re completely fricked after Quiet On Set and the mass layoffs. Not to mention no one cares about cable TV anymore.

People still watch Nick stuff but with the Nick app and Paramount+ which isn't reflected in the Neilson ratings. Nobody cares about Nick the TV channel.

Nor Paramount Plus since it's not making enough money + they're losing subs en masse.

Kids' TV absolutely did not survive gen alpha kids having smartphones since birth.

I think I read somewhere something to the effect of Disney Channel in current year only having about a tenth of the viewership it had a decade ago. Broadcast TV is dying in general but kids' TV in particular is a fricking bloodbath.

i heard that disney channel only gets like 300k viewers compared to the 2000s and early 2010s where it would have 3-5mil regular viewers so yep

Remember when Cartoon Network was trying desperately to get into live action to compete with Nick?

What just happened to them is karma for cancelling Invader Zim before Season 2 even reached the halfway point.

MLAATR was canceled due to consistently poor ratings. The execs actually liked it.

Oh no, all the worst shows are ending. Who the hell okayed live action shows for children's programming, anyway? Cartoons mog HARD. They got the bright colors, characters able to do impossible shit, voices not aging as obviously as bodies. Everything a growing kid wants to see.

The live action shows always sucked zoomers just didn't know any better. It was always just low budget shit trying to replicate Disney channel stars.

No, I'm serious. It was always forced, unfunny garbage trying too hard to ape off its contemporaries at the time (i.e. SNL, Mad TV, etc.) It only seems """good""" in hindsight due to how much worse things are now.

Zoomers don't give a frick about Nickelodeon or TV in general. Even if they go streaming they won't be as profitable as they were on TV

Every cartoon they make gets cancelled 4 episodes in for not reaching Spongebob level ratings immediately. Been like that that for at least 15 years and the only new show that managed to get that was The Loud House.
They just wrote off 10 shows from the last 5 years, including Nicktoons.

Are they going to die soon? In light of the recent "Quiet on Set" documentary, impending lawsuits from said documentary, plummeting viewership ratings, Paramount Plus losing billions, talks of possible mergers, Viacom execs thinking of selling their assets to regain costs, animation departments getting gutted, Spongebob being a zombie franchise, and their shows going woke...............I think they're undeniably fricked. Kids these days are more into One Piece and Fortnite. Nick is too Gen X + Millennial-core, but they still managed to alienate their old audience.

Yeah... but parents of those kids are gen x / millennial. Maybe not all of them have been alienated and just recognize the brand. Not a great thing to bank on, but it's possible.

How did that shit even happen? Loud House is such a bizarre pit of autism.

That shit was technically a Schneider show (but one of the one after Schneider obviously stopped giving a frick), right?

They continued the show without Schneider after he was kicked from Nick. They even made a spinoff that finished last month.

They should give up and forget about zoomers and alphas, and appeal to older audiences. Broadcast the 90s shows, live actions where Schneider wasn't involved, and the good old cartoons (Cat Dog, Rocko, Monsters, Rugrats). Maybe keep SpongeBob

Nicktoons Network and Nick GAS used to do that and the gimmick got old quick (so much so that the latter network got shut down and replaced). There's only so much reruns you can show before people get bored of it.
