I thought Jessie was hot as a kid. Still do actually.
ayo wtf
and then theres the weird kids or the adults who caught a glance at the toy, chuckled, decided its there thing to plunk on there shelves and admire.
keep your hands off my three golden balls
YOOOODALLAY YEEE HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I wanna break my toy
Erupt hot gooey magma in her tight cowgirl anus
If Woody had listened to him he'd be living an easy life in Japan hitting on sexy figmas instead of bumming around with a broken Bo Peep doll in some dingy carnival.
Honestly, Woody hanging out in some Japanese museum is 10x better than what he ended up doing in Toy Story 4. Why did they make TS4?
How? He gets played with like all the time now
Toy Story 4 isn't canon for me.
It's canon anon, you don't get to pick and choose
I quite literally do actually, these are fictional stories, I can pick and choose which ones to recognize, and for me, Toy Story ended at 3 + the shorts.
honestly that's the best way to handle fictional shit that is bad or don't like, just pretend it was a dream or just a spin off that has no place in the timeline so you can treat it as nothing more then some fan theory that isn't cannon, like those spin off cartoons based on movies that can't take place in the story since it'd make no sense
that's how star wars fans do it, ray skywalker is nothing more then some teen girls self insert fan fiction on a space forum, and the universe was at peace after vader died and nothing more, that's how I treat the likes of shrek 3 or crystal skull or girl ghost busters: it didn't actually happen/wasa a dream/a fan fiction with a budget
Figma balls
I dont remember that happening in Roy story 3 the last movie in that franchise
>Roy story 3
goddamn Fire Emblem characters
We can't forget the acclaimed classic of Monsters Ike.
>spends decades sitting on a shelf, not being played with
>becomes bitter
>end goal is to continue sitting on a shelf, not being played with, except he's in a Japanese museum
>bad thing
BAD
>bad thing but japanese
GOOD
oh damn he really was ahead of his time
The difference is sitting on a shelf and being constantly neglected vs. being admited as a a piece of pop culture history
His way people will at least pay attention to him even if he never gets used
sentient toys is a moronic concept, there's no good or bad antagonist in toy story
it's a child's film and you have trouble understanding it. he wins and sets his little plastic spirit at peace if he gets woody to go along and become a museum piece so stinky pete can finally get the appreciation he longed for
lotso was a bad antagonist
Transphobia is a dated attitude
Stinky Pete long abandoned his desire to be played with children. No way around it he was a flop as a kid's toy, ugly design, ugly name, even for a villain he just wasn't likeable.
Being in a museum was the only way he'd ever be appreciated.
in the end though, he was probably better off. imagine all the Barbie puss he was drowning in.
Shame that scene was cut
you wouldn't be able to get away with stuff like this now despite it being true.
What always annoyed me about the metoo movement in Hollywood isn’t that people were finally getting outed, but that everybody in the industry acted as if they had no idea it went on. Everyone joked about the casting couch, this joke wouldn’t have made sense otherwise.
Nature of the beast. They're all coked up drug addicts getting high and fricking people, which means everyone has to act like its 100% consensual all the time or the culture is a rape culture.
The problem is while people like Weinstein regularly do quid pro quo to get people parts in movies, for them its the moment they gave up their integrity. In other words, the day they fricked Harvey Weinstein was the day they gave up everything to become a star. For him, it was Tuesday.
well it's not as if he'd missed being played with
kek
Fricking weeaboo
It's almost like Toy Story 2 is overrated
Well done, you've successfully identified both his motivation and why he was in the wrong. You have the functional thinking level of a child.
Hey, most don't get there. It's a pretty high bar nowadays, relatively speaking. There's a lot of folk that get actual text wrong.
Keep forgetting he's voiced by Sideshow Bob
Kelsey Grammer just shows up in the weirdest places sometimes
You could make the argument that the real antagonist of toy story 2 was Big Al of Big Al's Toy Barn
>toy of a comedic relief old man character
Stinky Pete was doomed the moment he was made
He was the best pixar/disney twist villain by default
What went right with him that went so horribly wrong with the rest?
The chicken man was already a convincing antagonist so it was truly unexpected when he turned on Woody. Contras it with modern Disney twist villains who are always preceded by a cold fish "obviously not the real villain" villain.
Also its a matter of saturation
It also helps that the twist is that he's an extremist and not a 180° personality change like Hans and his clones
Heck he probably would have never stopped being nice to Woody if they went to Japan.
It also helps a lot that Stinky Pete is very clearly the toy nobody would want from the show when you think about it.
"Hey kid, do you want the cowboy, the cowgirl, or the weird old man?"
So a lot of what he says, and wants, make a whole lot of sense.
Also getting to go to a "TOY" museum and hang with all the cool toys the reside in it wouldn't actually be that bad.
I'm kind of curious how those production runs work. Like do they make a million he-mans and like 100k moss mans with the idea that the he-man's move and the moss mans just sit on the shelf reminding you to get that he-man if he ever shows up?
I actually had a stinky pete toy when i was a kid. I think i ended up burying him
For me it was Waternoose who also shared his stage with a primary "red herring" villain. But what's great is that after Waternoose is revealed as a bad guy the writers don't forget about Randell as a character. Just compare that great chase scene through the door factory with Randell to the Weasel guy from Frozen who straight up disappears from the movie until after the climax
Imagine the smell
Name one character voiced by sideshow Bob who isn't evil
I'll wait.
Blinkus from Trollhunters
Was he an incel?
If you consider being played by a child as being the toy equivalent of sex, yes.
considering that's how they treated it like in that one short? yeah toys being played with is like sex for them.
He was fun.
That quote makes me wonder if there was ever a bargain bin for slaves.
Toy Story 1, and especially 2 and 3, establish that there is no happy end for Toys.
Enjoying the time you have before the inevitable sad end is a very interesting and mature message spread across all three.
4 COMES OUT AND ITS LOL JUST LEAVE AND LIVE FOREVER AS A HOBO ITS GREAT, NO SAD ENDING ANYMORE
This is what pisses me off most about 4.
Its written in stone that Toys eventually wear out. MAYBE they'll get lucky and be rehomed once, but eventually theyre destined to fall apart in some attic somewhere.
So Woodys "We'll enjoy every second we can" mindset at the end of 2 was a really lovely message for kids. It wasnt the usual "You can do anything, and be anything, there are no limits or sad things in the world" dreck.
And then 4 undoes it all. There does have to be a sad ending! You can be like Bo Peep and be a Toy freedom fighter! Woody gets his happy ending we kept getting told didnt exist! Awh!
Disgusting.
I've seen Toy Story 4, and I don't even remember what Woody's reason for joining the carnival toys was, other than Bo Peep was there and he had literally nothing better to do.
I would have thought there would be more to do with the question "what even counts as a toy?" with the spork character, and his reluctance to be played with. I'll admit I might be forgetting it, but I can't remember there being much exploration or discussion about the topic or its resolution, other than him being the reason for Woody to do anything. Same for the "voice box" thing with Woody. What exactly was that all meant to be about? It just felt like a real lame contrived reason to have an antagonist.
Toy Story 4 just felt like a movie that had nothing to say or offer and existed just to try and wring more money out of the franchise. I mean, off the top of my head, a movie about the declining role of toys in children's lives today in the wake of video games and smart phones would have been more grounds to explore and send a message outside of whatever Toy Story 4 was even trying to say.
>I would have thought there would be more to do with the question "what even counts as a toy?" with the spork character, and his reluctance to be played with. Yeah, I thought this was going to more or less be the theme/plot of the entire movie, and it got resolved roughly twenty minutes after Forky was introduced.
Kingdom Hearts of all things goes into more detail explaining how the Toys are alive then the actual series does.
No that's literally it.
Bonnie doesnt like to play with him anymore, and Bo Peep doesnt want to be played with by kids now (Some form of gurl power Iunno)
So Buzz tells him to just frick off and be a toy hobo that helps out other toys.
I think a big reason for this is Tom Hanks was done with it at 3 but they got him to do 4 by promising him itd give his character a send off - which is why it feels so random.
She litteraly played with him on the roadtrip, and she put him in the closet for like 3 days
"Not playing with him" my ass
Case and point
Woody thought it better to die a free cowboy than be under the ownership of a Mexican. Forgive him, he's an older toy from the 50s.
Not favorite, but Hopper is underrated. He know the limits he and his MC gang are. And does whatever he can to not make the ants realise. Soo he isn't blindly evil, but has a brain.
Acknowledging that the Ants are stronger than him if they banded together alone puts him head and shoulders above a lot of villains in any media.
Yeah, the scene with the seeds where he demonstrated that is amazing.
A non-twist villain who was smart. Those were the days.
Where did it all stop, Princess and the frog?
I suppose you would identify with the incel metaphor.
Zurg was a grest secondary threat
Sid > Pete > Gabby >>>>>>>>>>>>> Lotso
Holy shit what a trash take
I will not be taking criticism from anyone who places Lotso anywhere other than the very bottom, you can pick your favorite among the other three but I will not hear any argument for him.
And why is that
Honestly, if I had to do a redo of Toy Story 4 and keep the series continued.
>Ditch everything about the movie.
>Don't bother bringing back Bo Peep since she was bastardized into a generic "GURL POWER" character that carries barely none of her wise and motherly character as established back in 1/2
>Age up Bonnie to a adult/elderly, at least to have the toys face the whole "becoming older" idea.
>Ditch Forky, and have the new toy be a handmade doll by Bonnie or something else entirely.
>Keep the whole message all about "what makes a toy?" and the whole idea of retirement/degrade. All instead of this moronic contrived, yet morally wrong bullshit that is of "selling your organs at gunpoint is okay", "it's okay to ditch your family and friends for a hoe" and "You don't need a kid anymore to be a toy"
>Since Tom Hanks wanted to give the character a send off. Do it properly in a consistent way, and maybe possibly send off Buzz too to fit in with their idea of "retiring together" as established in Toy Story 2
And for any continuation of the series, just expand upon the world with a new toy cast with an bigger focus on the toy society and exploring human world with less focus on humans and their interaction with them since it's already explored so thoroughly. And no focus towards to producing spin-offs like Lightyear.
I just love evil machines.
Though GlaDOS did everything he does better.
He did nothing evil though.
Makes it better. Machine antagonist carrying out its function to and past the point of disregard for human life is wordy.
That’s the great part of AUTO as a character, he’s so unwaveringly dutiful to his one command that quite literally everything he does is in service of that command. From the literal moment EVE was found to have found an example of surviving flora on Earth, AUTO had the entire system rigged to uphold orders that have, for all intents and purposes, been invalidated by EVE’s discovery. Hell, it asks the question of whether this is actually the first time that this shit’s gone down before, only AUTO’s plan went perfectly due to lack of a foreign element like WALL-E fricking his system up.
pretty much. When EVE is brought to the captain room, AUTO sees she has a plant inside and orders his robot lackey to remove it and later take it to a escape pod, while tricking the captain in thinking EVE malfunctioned. Plant was only saved because EVE took Wall-E to the escape pods to send him home
>When he hits the button so hard it cracks.
never have I felt so much despair when he straight up tazed the shit out of Wall-E
The way he unfolded and rammed the tazer unto Wall-e managed to look more like a forceful knife stab than just a regular tazing. It also helps how quick it happens so people cant brace themselves for it unless they know its gonna happen.
I legit remember an old lady screaming near me at the theater when it happened years ago.
Lotso was better. He wasn't just one guy like Pete, since he had almost the entire daycare, including the strong baby, on his side
Zurg was a better toy than Lotso. He used his toy function to make up for being a lousy dad and villain.
Lotso on his own however is by far the worst antagonist. Even the Big Baby on his own was a better antag than Lotso.
