yes and no. furgays kept insisting the creator to canonize their fanshipping relationship between the two cats but the creator said he won't do that because he established them as straight characters. this of course caused an entire twitter meltdown to furgays claiming they were being erased from society for not making them gay and also triggered them because children will be missing this validation needed from their growth that they wished to have see when they were children when watching cartoons.
CN of course did not want this bad publicity after all the attention they got from Steven Universe so they axed the show

It's just a perfectly fine, inoffensive slice of life(?) series about guys being dudes. Aside from being produced by the same guys who did Robot Chicken nothing really stands out about it and it doesn't seem particularly fit for extended discussion.

It's half true. The furries going mad is real, but that's not why CN cancelled the show.
