STRANGE ADVENTURES Live-Action Series In The Works For The DCU

>Based on the acclaimed 2020 miniseries by Tom King, STRANGE ADVENTURES follows intergalactic adventurer Adam Strange, the champion of planet Rann, who returns to Earth with his alien wife Alanna after a pivotal victory against the warmongering Pykkt that comes at great personal cost. While Adam’s exploits earn him fame and fortune as a war hero and master strategist, minor inconsistencies in his tales lead tech vigilante Mister Terrific to launch an investigation, which threatens to expose the dark truth behind Adam Strange’s greatest adventure.

I think that's just generally how a Tom King comic works. He manages to get all these brilliant artists, and they put some nice, good-looking wallpaper up over the massive cracks in his work.
Unless it's something like Heroes in Crisis, where his writing is just so spectacularly awful and spiteful that not even Clay Mann can save it.

Pretty sure this article only got made because Gunn's already doing an adaptation of Tom King's Supergirl, and posted a while back that he liked Strange Adventures. You need to read between the lines, this is just like the Reach. A force that is going to conquer anything and everything, there is nothing political about the engagement. The Oans couldn't defeat the Reach and signed accods with them, limiting their own power and actions against the Reach, they learned their lesson and now won't try to fight another invasion like that again.

It's literally the same, for the Oans not to do anything means they don't want to get into another engagement where they cannot secure victory.

Just admit you don't read comics.

They already signed away all the worlds the Reach conquered, dooming all those untold numbers. They're shying away from having to face the Pykkt and do it again.

No one can have infinite number of troops.

Good thing this is a comic where the impossible is reality then, huh?

                >The Pykkt possess the ability to create mass and energy from nothing and pull resources that don't exist from an artificial reality of their own creation, this reality increases exponentially and churns out ever increasing hoards of Pykkt military might that has conquered untold realities and defeated the Justice League of 1.6 quadrillion Earths...correction, 1.9...correction...22.7...correction 150.7...correction...

Hey bud you're trying for something here by focusing on the oans but I hope because I'm just gonna go ahead dismantle whatever this is by pointing out two facts in the story.
1)Superman and the Justice league deny to give Adam Strange any aid despite the fact they had access to FTL that would've got him to Rann much faster then waiting for the next zeta ray beam
                And
2)Hal Jordan later did fight against the pyktts when they invaded eath meaning the GLC doesn't have a treaty with the pykkts like they do with the reach meaning your whataboutism ploy is pointless.

You've said a lot of irrelevant nonsense.

Both the Oans and Justice League failed as was already stated. They have a duty to uphold but fail to answer the call to justice. And Hal fighting isn't the equivalent of the entire Corps going to war along with the Oans. Which they did. Which they failed to win and then officially signed a treaty with the Reach to never attack them or free their worlds while the Reach spent 40,000 years raping them in bliss as they cried out to the Oans for help.

                >an incoherent plot
                >a lack of sophistication

Let's talk about how this plot make no sense and to do that we got to talk about the bad guys and what they want.
                >they're the pykkts
                >they are bad
                >they want to invade and conquer earth
And how do they plan to do it?
                >invade and start a war with Rann, a civilization with more advanced technology then Earth
And why are they starting a war with Rann before invading Earth?
                >because they want to abduct and torture Adam Strange for their evil plan to invade and conquer Earth
And what does their evil plan involve?

Now get ready because this is a doozy.
                >to let Adam Strange win the war on Rann.
And how does this help them invade Earth?
                >by adam betraying the earth
                How does he do that?
                >well first he's gonna have to write a book that's good enough to become a national bestseller
                >then durint a book tour someone will eventually accuse him of war crimes from a war that is 4.5 lightyears away from Earth
                >he will then murder that person
                >there will be a murder investigation that Adam will fully cooperate with
                >the lead detective on that murder investigation will naturally ignore the murder case and set out to prove the murdered random person's accusation that Adam Strange committed war crimes on an alien planet was true
                >during all this the pyktts will send out scout ships to alert Earth the aliens Adam Strange wrote about in his best seller are going to invade Earth.
                >the lead detective will published his findings but not arrest Adam for the murder of the random person because the detective lacks the authority to arrest anyone
                >people will learn that Adam did do war crimes against the pyktts back on Rann which will give him such popular support Earth makes him a general.
                >adam will then slowly sabotage Earth for the pyktts

All that is literally 1--11 summarized.
Issue 12 is basically Alanna has shot Adam dead and the pykkts leave Earth to go back to war with Rann.
                Also Alanna ditched her daughter.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but that's a little convoluted of a plot isn't it?
Let's move onto the next point which is the lack of sophistication which means all the dumb little small things King didn't put a mote of thought into.
                >how come Alanna speaks English?
She's an alien from a different world and she's a fluent english speaker?
                >does the justice league need to get involved.
Adam is not in the league and the murder case itself is pretty simple. Sutely the justice League doesn't have jurisdiction over every murder with an off-world weapon, they'd be too busy to even save the world then.
                >and Rann actually got genocided?
                Apparently.

                That's what objectively happened though.
They didn't invade Rann for any resources or territory and no other rannian soldier was captured alive like Adam was.

Well facts have to be factually correct to be facts right? And it's just that you're factually incorrect that the Pyktts and the Oans have the same ceasefire they do with the Reach.

He's saying they would be drawn into a situation that created the previous ceasefire by going to war with them which damaged them forever you idiot. It could go even worse for the Oans this time.

Why would it though? The Reach reached a ceasefire by having enough firepower to force a ceasefire.

Ah, so Gunn was lying when he said he didn't add in those Justice League characters to set up spinoff projects
