Why was season 2 so bad but season 4 kino-tier?

I'm still on S1E1. Haven't made it past hitting the netflix button on my remote. what am I missing?

missing nice visuals and music, but the story is generic

only correct answer, s2 was actual dogshit. S2 and 3 are so unremarkable you could just watch S! then S4 and get more enjoyment

    Season 3: 8/10
Season 4: 8/10 (would be higher w/o all the Hooper in a Russian prison junk, who watches ST for Russian prison drama? They should have wrapped up that shit by episode 4, REALLY kino final episode though, made me cry like a baby)

Cinemaphile is triggered by one episode in Chicago with black and brown people. It's moronic (the people hung up on this, the episode is ok)

Apparently there is a dnd character who gets killed by bats and gets resurrected as a vampire and becomes Vecna's right hand man later betraying him. I dont think there is any proof they are going to go this route but the Duffer brothers are aware of how popular Eddie became as a character so they might.

        Called Kas I believe.

If Eddie’s actor is seen at all near Season 5 production, you have you’re answer. It was already said by the Duffers that Eddie’s death will have significant repercussions for Dustin in season 5.

Interesting because the chick who Eddie witnessed get killed was named Cassie though i could just be reading into it. I think that they could just bring him back as a vision for Dustin when Vecna does his mind thing but I hope they go the vampire resurrection route.

Never thought fricking Dustin would make me cry but him gimping around on a bum leg trying to explain to Eddie's uncle why his metalhead misfit nephew was actually a great guy just killed me.

I really don't like the dialogue in this show. Does anyone else feel this way? It was so cliche and dull

Teenagers are cliche and dull. Especially ones from a small town in Indiana from the 1980s.

because it has to appeal to the lowest of the low: normalgays.

I guess so, it just didn't feel as shitty back in season one. The characters were actually 3 dimensional people then and not so clean cut

It's very surface level, yes - especially in season 3, which has less depth because it's a giant parody of science fiction and action movies to the point that it's comical. After a certain point, the characters also cease to develop further. Nancy and Jonathon are probably the worst examples of this.

I actually found Jonathon to be okay because he's not throwing out cliche lines as much and his avoidance of his problems felt kind of real

    >interdimensional monster that can remotely assasinate people
    >Is an outcast and hates humans acting like NPCs
    >Doesn't kill corrupt politicians, neocons, war criminals, pedophiles, or the CIA who have basically kept him in captivity all his life
    >Instead targets teenagers

    He fricked up

He could've manipulated the NPCs to his side and killed the powerful ones first, but he is a moron who targets teenagers only to get defeated.

He wants to unleash the interdemensional shit and kill everyone so he has to kill exactly 4 people and for whatever reason chooses depressed teenagers
