Not really, doing animation the way they did here actually takes MORE time to do because instead of letting the computer automatically transition between keyframes, they have to manually tell it to hold a certain pose for several frames to create that type of choppy looking framerate.
The render time still remains the same because they're not fricking around with the framerate of the project itself. They're just faking lower framerate by making the characters skip motions. Like, the movie is probably animated at 24 fps but the characters are made to only react every 12 frames instead so it looks choppy.
Now I'm interested if background objects/lighting move faster than the characters, or it's all one speed. If it's all one speed, than it IS less shit to render. Like japs did back when.

Yeah more than ever for sure now that normies love him. He’ll probably even get his own live action movie too. I don’t see why not. Sony owns the rights and a 2099 Spider-Man movie wouldn’t interfere much with the MCU more than the venom movies do. Plus Miguel’s becoming a popular character and is waaaay far into the future so he can’t exactly interfere with the miles shit they’re setting up in the MCU so that gives them way more freedom to do shit.
I think animation could give us a more fantastical 2099, if they do it live they're likely to take the 'go downtown and film with a gold/grey filter' shortcut that so many lazy cyberpunk movies do.
A dark spiderman cyberpunk 2099 movie or series would be kino. Dunno whether or not Sony would frick it up though.

Josh Keaton and Christopher Daniel-Barnes were really phenomenal as Peter and Miguel. The game might not have been considered good, but they really gave good performances. Kinda sad how Lyla never really got to appear in either of the “multi dimension” Spider-Man games though. I suppose madame web was filling that role.. which come to think of it, why isn’t she in the spiderverse movies? Isn’t she usually there for multi dimensional spider-man stuff?
