I can’t decide how I feel about it. It’s definitely unspidermanlike to sit there and let someone die, at the same time when you consider modern Spider-Man writing it makes complete sense the lot of them are nihilistic. Just look at how sad Peter B. and Gwen were before they met Miles. It really comes down to virtuism vs realism. One could argue that the whole “canon” plot thing is contrived bs to put everyone against miles, and that the story should’ve been written another way. In any case I do think it’s a shame that they have to lower everyone else to raise Miles up. I guess it’s still good that other Spider people still came to Miles in the end.

The sad part is, the plot that anon described is not from the comics. It's 100% made up for the movie. Just like the Thanos "muh overpopulation" bullshit. The actual comic storyline was about the spiders being hunted down to extinction by vampire-like superhuman villains. They had to team up to fight the their hunters and a lot of the spider cameos died in really moronic ways. It was a shitty story with an even shittier comic sequel, but they were still better than these absolute horse shit movies.
