Finished Succession last night
All I can say about Shiv is, wow, what a c**t
Everytime she did something c**ty I thought "oh, she'll redeem herself somehow, she can't be as bad as she seems" but then she keeps doing worse things until the show ends with her betraying Kendall on a whim and spiting him for no reason and refusing to allow him to become ceo, and casually using his darkest secret against him that he'd shared with her in confidence, just because she could
Wow.
Few shows end with the main character looking as dejected and broken because he'd been stabbed in the back by a sister who can't "stomach him"
Long live Tom
Orange lady bad
i regret watching this show. i hated every character except for tom. the writing was really annoying after a while too
>breathy, exasperated "yeah"
holy shit shut the frick up
Tom was kind of a shitbag too. Remember early in the first season when he promises a kid a million dollars if hits the ball and then plays it off as a joke? Also basically abusing greg.
yeah i know but hes parody level goofy so its entertaining
Not Tom, but the impish brother from kevin from home alone.
Greg, yeah, but look who Greg turned out to be. You could argue that's because of how Tom treated him, and due to the general culture of that megacorp, but I'd disagree. The way he's introduced the very first episode tells you all you need to know.
Yeah you're right, it was Roman. My bad. Don't know why I thought Tom.
Tom tags the kid out when he could have easily pretended to drop the ball or something, so still an butthole.
exactly. they're all buttholes but they try to paint Logan as "secretly having a heart" in the pilot by praising the kid and giving him the watch but that all went down the drain. they even had Roman being married with a kid in the pilot
>They even had Roman being married with a kid in the pilot
It was a joke. It's because of the blood pressure medicine he was on. Can't you take a joke?
>Remember early in the first season when he promises a kid a million dollars if hits the ball and then plays it off as a joke?
I thought that was Roman???
>promises a kid a million dollars if hits the ball
Later seasons were missing this edge of contrasting wealthy cruelty to normal people.
Yeah the first season was by far the best. The pilot and subsequent episodes had me absolutely hooked. I think the ending was rushed but I’m glad they decided to wrap it up when they did, almost every successful American show has a bunch of zombie seasons and I’m glad this one doesn’t.
Roman was literally our guy.
>i regret watching this show.
uhhh... ok... i mean... yeah... sure... whatever...
Yeah she's a b***h
But that body got me actin wild tho
The milker AND the BUNDA
Holy shit what a frickin courgar
only TV related thread going
>I see Siobhan Roy and her doughy ass in a tight dress across a crowded room
>I immediately drop into an olympic level sprint, beelining my way to her, knocking women and children out of the way. I tackle her legs and hold on for dear life.
>I go face first into her butthole as we tumble to the ground
>She screams, but I don't hear it - my face is red and my ears are already ringing like a million alarm bells are going off in my head
>I am thrashing my head between her cheeks like a possessed gorilla having a seizure, I am grunting and snarling and growling. I am not in control.
>My grip on her thighs is permanent. 20 men try to pull me off but I am like a pitbull holding onto a baby. No living man can deprive me of my stinky, sweaty prize. It is my right.
>She is screaming, flailing, crying. It doesn't matter at all to me. In the end, I have to be killed to be removed from her shitter. I have died to motorboat her ass. It is worth the dear price.
>Even after I die, through lifelong therapy sessions, I never really release my grip. Shiv dies with one thought in her mind, the man who would not let go.
she's so fricking hot how thick she got as the show went on. watching interviews outside the show too--she curses like a god damn sailor with a thick australian accent
>betraying Kendall on a whim and spiting him for no reason and refusing to allow him to become ceo, and casually using his darkest secret against him that he'd shared with her in confidence, just because she could
he deserved nothing better
yeah I've never hated a character and a writing decision more than this. I still don't understand why they made it a point to show us the siblings bonding, laughing together, finally agree to put their differences aside and save their father's empire, only for the writers to have her do a complete 180 out of nowhere in the end.
Really? It makes perfect sense. It was silly to believe in this "bonding" since they never really had it to begin with. They had to fake it and remember a time as kids where maybe they were throwing food at each other and laugh. Most families would not have to go that far back to actually have some understanding.
I would. I fricking hate my brother, this show is mad relatable.
She does love Ken and while they're in an imaginary childish twilight world she can stomach giving up the spot to make him happy. But the minute she's back in the real world and sees him in the actual chair she can't stand it and shivs him. It made perfect sense and I know plenty of people like this
>shivs him
pottery. right up there with when roman went roamin'
Isn't this terrible tragic ending basically them getting all the shit they were jumping for joy about at the start of the season?
That's the point, they're not serious people.
Yes, they were all ready to sell at the start, but getting their dad's position dangled in front of their faces got them acting moronic again.
They'll probably be fine with some extra billions in their pockets.
Whole point of the last season was them reverting back to being abused kids fighting for their father's approval even when he's dead, that's just how well he conditioned them
One of the few shows with actual realistic portrayal of how childhood abuse never really heals and how psychotherapy is just a bullshit cope
You're making me want to rewatch the show now

Kendall and Philip Jennings are competing for the saddest looking men in TV history
The difference is my man Phillip had an actual reason to be sad and anxious all the time.
>on a whim
>for no reason
speedwatcher thread
Cope post
It was a made-up rugpull for shock.
silence, speedwatcher
It's bitter and spiteful, but rational and not out of character. Shiv envisioned the future and decided she'd be less miserable losing the family company and trapped in her loveless marriage to the CEO than endure her older brother's regime, where she'd spend every day getting condescended to, shit out of actual decision making, etc.
Remember she winds up rich and miserable either way, she realized this path would make her slightly less miserable.
Yeah, they telegraphed from like a mile away that Shiv hated Kendall too much to ever let him be CEO. It really wasn't surprising.
>Shiv "anoints" Kendall
>Shiv runs out of the vote after changing her mind
Yeah that's a whim
Definitely not for no reason though, it's clear as day why she changes her mind.
As much of a c**t as she is, I was kinda cheering for her when she backstabbed Kendall just for the hell of it. Frick Kendall. He's a fricking wiener.
I really can't imagine how you could watch this show and come put only hating Shiv. They are all fricking horrible people.
>I really can't imagine how you could watch this show and come put only hating Shiv.
I mostly think it's guys who Shiv reminds them of a girl that was either mean to them in high school or rejected them. There's no rhyme or reason to it. As far as the siblings go, Roman is objectively the most evil and cruel.
It's literally just because she's a woman. Kendall and Roman are fricking terrible people but a lot of men can somewhat identify with them, which doesn't happen with Shiv because she's female.
holy cringe
>LE CRINGE CRINGE
Tell me how it doesn't make sense homosexual
They're all arseholes, but Shiv seemed to be acting out of spite rather than good ol' self-interest
This. Her actions feel the most petty and the way she treated Tom was fricking unforgivable.
>multiple posts explaining why she’s a shit person
>umm you only think this because she’s a woman
CRINGE
Shiv IS a shit person, I never said she wasn't, I'm talking about gays who watch the show and then ONLY complain about Shiv or talk about her as if she is way worse than the other characters.
>It's literally just because she's a woman
Exactly
She's spiteful because she's a woman, and I hate spite more than greed
All the characters are shit but she's the most contemptible, consistently
Then again Roman mocking Ken's children was a bit fricked
Roman is the most enjoyable sibling to watch so he gets a pass. Like how people hate Skylar in Breaking Bad but not Walt.
Yeah the point is that they are all horrible. I liked that Roman at the end was like "This is the end, we're all fricked. Just stop." It was his moment of clarity.
I think the writers really butchered shiv. She wasn't too bad at first, just kinda insecure and spiteful but when they made her just go nuts over political issues she became trash.
that what she is though, the useless moral compass of the family who thinks she knows politics but constantly gets played
>made her go nuts over political issues
It's not unrealistic that a liberal billionaire would be genuinely unsettled by the prospect of a fascist President (Mencken isn't a Trump or modern GOP figure, he is clearly meant to be an actual, honest-to-god fascist).
He has far more in common with some creepy European politicians than Trump or some specific American figure. He reminded me a lot of Thierry Baudet before his downfall.
Shiv fricked over Ken and "Won", but she'll have the most miserable life of the brothers.
The easy winner among them is Roman, though he'll die in his 50s from erotic auto-asphyxiations or some shit
>The easy winner among them is Roman, though he'll die in his 50s from erotic auto-asphyxiations or some shit
aaauahhuhuhuhooohhaaadoooiiiiyyyy!!! ok mister fricking terminally online waifu bbc worshipping fricking permavirgin incel shitposter fricking frickshitter fricking wiener face fricking douche
>t. roman
>though he'll die in his 50s from erotic auto-asphyxiation
My money is on falling out a skyscraper window while jerking off
Connor won of all the kids though, got a hot wife and became an ambassador, actually fulfilled his dream
And that's specifically because he was smart enough to stay the frick away and only use Logan for his resources, even though he still wanted Logan's love somewhat, he also knew it was a useless weakness and that there was no love to give
Which is why he ends up in the best place of the 4 kids
Very forgettable show, and don't ever forget the massive cope /succ/ had during the finale. One of the best meltdowns I have ever seen
2/2
BTFO by the actual leak, they couldn't comprehend that they enjoyed garbage for years
>Yep, this was written by a redditor
Not necessarily incorrect
do you have a compilation of people admitting they were wrong? can't have been many of them but i assume there were some
They were in full denial mode
Shiv's arc should have concluded when Greg snitched on her. To the best of my self-awareness, I'm not saying this because the character is a woman, but because the character overplayed her hand.
Greg won. Gerri won
Succession--a comedy show for people that hate comedy.
Succession--a comedy show ashamed of being a comedy show
Succession--an intentionally unfunny comedy show
I hate this show so much its unreal. I despise it and the people that like it.
She is boring. Very little about her character except daddy issues.
it was a c**ty attitude but she won in the long run, her brothers never really gave a shit about her
i think people would have liked the ending a bit more if they showed kendall attempting to start his own business in the last 5 seconds of the episode
Post her ass
Kendall was the only character I gave a frick about, so of course that the ending hurt (it was obvious it was going to happen, but I was blinded with my hope that the siblings were going to cooperate).
Great series overall.
It was nice to have a final season that actually end up becoming the best, instead of another sad excuse of an ending like so many others get.
How do you respond without sounding mad?
